I 2nd this, would also be a really great way of getting statistics - even on greater scale regarding which genre is currently played the most and so on, and maybe show some extra news regarding that particular genre or why not add reviews to the site and show reviews on similar games in that genre?
Also if going waaay too far with this (like I haven't already) it could get a "users also have this in their collection"-thing, to see which ones currently playing/have beaten it.

  • Look into encoding issues. Everything needs to be UTF-8

I don't know how your site is built, but isn't it a quick and solid fix by just adding this in every header?

Code: [Select]
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8">

I went back and looked at some of the other Disney games such as Chip and Dale and Duck Tales and a lot of those do not list the Disney in the title ... so for consistancy sake, if you resubmit them as you originally did, I will accept them.

Thanks for taking your time to dig such deep into this, the data regarding Goofy's Fun House is now resubmitted. Much appreciated!

I certainly do see your point, but what I also have in mind are the complications that could occur, which would break the standard formating.

A title like Goofy's example is perfectly fine and would work, if it weren't for games like i.e. Disney's Hercules Action Game. "Action Game" is not written on the cover as a part of the main title and are therefore to be taken as a subtitle - making the title (following Goofy's example) to be like "Disney's: Hercules: Action Game".. and that looks way wrong in my eyes :)

EDIT: The game as reference http://vgcollect.com/item/49497 (yeah, the cover is in German, which is noted to change into EU/EN).

Your edit to 360: Three Sixty was rejected.
Game: http://vgcollect.com/item/58780
Field: Name
New Value: 360 Three Sixty

The Parent Title is set without any special character, which makes the semicolon unnecessary and wrong, as 360 is not a part of any series.

The Parent Title is set without any special character, which makes the semicolon unnecessary and wrong. On the contrary, the other 007-games have a - between 007 and the subtitle.

Your edit to Disney's: Goofy's Fun House was rejected.

The Parent Title is set without "Disney's", and "Disney's" is so small printed that it looks more like a branding than a part of the title. Therefore, the title would be more correct by removing "Disney's" from the main title - but adding it to the alternative title.

EDIT: As examples show in the style guide (btw, the linking to that guide from the notification-page is broken, you get sent to the notification-page again instead of the style guide) i COULD approve with entry 1 and 2 being denied. But entry 3, I really think that would've and should've gone trough. :)

Site Feedback / New option after searcing for a game
« on: April 17, 2014, 04:53:08 am »
If the game is not found with a search, would it be possible to add an link to submit the game on that "No results found"-page?
As of now I first have to search the database, and if not found I need to pop open the other menu to submit it.

Maybe it seems like a minor thing to bitch about, but since I'm aiming at adding the whole PAL library of Ps1-games it sure would make my life a hell lot of easier :)

EDIT: Or, is it reliable enough to only search for the games directly under "Submit games" section, where you enter the title and platform/region?

Site Feedback / Re: Missing category, Ps1 platinum
« on: April 15, 2014, 05:05:31 pm »
So much for me not paying much attention to this (or last) gen systems, I thought Classics were one of these:

Well then, thanks for straighten that one out at least.. then I feel free to edit those who are (miss)labeled "(platinum)" to fit what you wrote.
Buuut my five cents are that I'd still see a point with another category, since then it would be easier to keep track of "real" releases and those ugly looking re-released ones. But anyways, I'll do as told.

The drop-down list have an option for Playstation Classics, but there are no good way to add the Platinum-editions.
A quick fix to add, I would think, and would make my (still in progress) site-based Ps1-library a hell lot of fancier.
