Mario kart seemed interesting and something I'd like to play
Donkey Kong could be fun.
Feel bad for the Gungeon 2 team with the freeze during their trailer, I think FF7 came after?

Curious to see how Nintendo adapts some titles as they seem to want to lean into multiplayer, incorporating their chat function into the console.

Pokemon being displayed on the Gamecube portion is nice, would love to play gale of darkness or colosseum on the go - does this mean they might add the gba games?

Not a lot that excites me overall. Would of liked a game that really sealed it for me. Probably purchase it either way but probably end up regretting it.

I normally buy through Ebay (Although I have been eying up Vinted due to Ebay's new fees) . There are not many stores that sell Vintage games anymore. In the UK the only place you can find anything is probably CeX, but the condition of an item isn't really clear if you buy on their website so I'd standardly opt to buy in-store when available. Alternatively I can buy on a website such as Cash Converters where they photograph their items but it's extremely hit and miss on authenticity etc.

Site Feedback / Re: Back to Edit page after Submit
« on: March 11, 2025, 05:21:02 pm »
Not a rejected edit per se but something weird happens when I try to reset the front image to Sonic CD on japanese MCD:
https://vgcollect.com/item/32322
(For the record, here the image in question: https://info.sonicretro.org/File:Scd-box-jap.jpg)

Whenever I hit submit, instead of getting back to the item page with a notification, I loop back to the edit form page, and presumably nothing arrives on mods plate, since this edit was not validated while later ones were.

I have just uploaded the image and everything seemed normal, haven't heard of this issue prior. Can you try it again now?

These are the numbers from round 2 (March 3rd) so it won't include the 4k images restored prior to that.

249,272 items were marked as having a front image in the DB
41,359 front images were missing
32,226 images were not archived

guess I have been more unlucky than average even if I where to reduce the numbers with other stuff had to alter 31% of my collection in terms of front images.

Thank you for uploading images

The vast majority of images lost seem to be in the first half of the database. For example I've went through the first 2056 Item Numbers and they have almost exclusively been Xbox [NA] and PS2 [NA]. I'd say it was over half of the items at that early stage that had lost images.

Adding more to that 360 Collection slowly

360
Fatal Inertia
Assassin's Creed Black Flag/Rogue
Transformers - Cybertron Edition
Cabela Alaskan Adventures
Dark Star One
Summer Stars 2012
Cars Mater-National
Halo 3 / Fable 2 Double Pack
History's Battle for the Pacific
Deadfall Adventures
Tomb Raider Collection
NFS Shift 2

+ A few more smaller titles from CeX that are now stacked in a cupboard waiting to also be added lol.

The A2600[NA] entry for Sea Monster, https://www.vgcollect.com/item/49687, has the incorrect box images, which are in fact the images for the A2600 [NA] entry for Space Tunnel found here, https://vgcollect.com/item/35898

This is further complicated by the fact that the erroneous title can be called Sea Monster or Seamonster.

According to AtariMania, Sea Monster did not have a [NA] release; however Seamonster did and can be found in the database here:  https://www.vgcollect.com/item/35896 - this is in fact a Canadian release.

Sea Monster was released as A2600[EU] PAL title and is in the database here:  https://vgcollect.com/item/273181.  In fact, this title was released by both Bit Corp. and Puzzy (a subsidiary of Bit Corp.), but the Puzzy version has not been entered into the database as of yet.

That is so confusing that I now need a nap.

Merging 49687 with 35896.

Modern Video Games / Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Reveal

From a brief glance, I’m happy about the backwards compatibility but curious about how switch 2 cartridges will look (assuming they still have them). Will we get Cobranded items for a while similar to the 360/xbox one?

Rumours are that they finally revealed the console developers can announce games for it - which would be nice. Wonder what will be switch 2 exclusive.

Still can’t help but feel that they might be shooting themselves in the foot a bit just calling the system the switch 2. The system doesn’t look that staggeringly different compared to the original switch, feel like they might cause a bit of consumer confusion

Might be the first console I’ve ordered in a while as long as the price point isn’t astronomical.

I think I'm going to finally complete my Xbox 360 [EU] collection in terms of actual titles.

How many are left for you to reach this goal? Any plans to complete other Xbox libraries?

At the minute it seems to be around 200 left. Just been clicking refresh on Ebay for the last 5 days or so. Most of the local game shops don't have anything I need unfortunately.

I wouldn't mind eventually completing my Xbox one collection but I feel like that collection should take a back seat until they stop releasing for the console. I have a lot of the games but there are so many niche ones that release - it's hard to keep track.

I might eventually choose to try a base Xbox collection but it's something I wouldn't treat as seriously. I don't have any nostalgia for the console personally so just don't have any desire to collect for it.

Thought I'd start getting some of the 360 Games I need from the local CEX. Didn't want to go too mad as I haven't went through the list to work out all that I need yet. Was tempted by a Dante's Inferno Death Edition but decided to not bite the bullet on that one right now.

360
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood / Assassin's Creed Revelations (Combo Pack)
Grease Dance
JustCause Collection
Nat Geo Quiz! Wild Life
Pro Evolution Soccer 2015

Xbox One
Monstrum

I think I'm going to finally complete my Xbox 360 [EU] collection in terms of actual titles. There are only a few heavy hitters that I seem to be missing such as: English Tornado Outbreak, Fatal Inertia and Fists of the North Star: Ken's Rage. The vast majority of the remaining games are much cheaper titles. It's been very interesting noticing price tags of £4 or so on games which now are £40 while slowly scanning what I have into the database.

I'm strongly considering also completing the classics line up for the console but that one is more up in the air and will require a bit of research.

Yeah it's getting really difficult to use for the last 2 weeks or so again. Trying to edit items for my collection is really difficult and accepting/denying any edits is really tough when it keeps throwing you the error.

Unless I'm overlooking some small detail, then I see no reason for that artwork to be rejected if it's submitted to the correct entry.

it's to this listing which currently has incorrect german front cover art. while the rest is english including backside and field description

https://vgcollect.com/item/78152

also the supposed barcode for a right english version already has a seperate entry with different barcode so mine being rejected makes no sense

https://vgcollect.com/item/270642

I've already addressed how the above artwork is incorrect for 78152. So, if it's submitted to that entry, it will be rejected a third time. All items with barcode 4012927024300 feature the "Achtung!" label and a USK rating.

change the barcode than cause all the other info for said listing is for the english version.

Most people who added the game to the collection have an english version only a fraction has german
it's the most popular listing for this game

the listing has barely an german info in it aside from the barcode and front pic that was altered

I cannot attest for why the barcode was initially changed however I have provided the matching front image for the specific listing based on the barcode provided (Example listing: www.ebay.de/itm/296729807963 ).

In terms of what takes precedent, the barcode is what is relied on for what version a item is as its the clearest indication of what an item is meant to actually be. In many instances there is a mish-mash of information which needs to be corrected to a specific version.

I have not denied any image relating to these items and welcome anyone to add improved images where possible. A lot of the items listed can be difficult to gather great images of due to either their rarity or simply good images not being available at the time. Frequently I revisit items I have created when I become aware of a better image available to me.

Completely understand your point regarding users possibly having the wrong item in their collection now due to the barcode change 2 years ago. Perhaps it would be better to of merged users to the relevant version before the barcode change however I have no context as to what caused the changed and wasn't even a moderator at that point of time. *Edit* Possibly the back image?

Also, I get that it can be frustrating when an edit gets denied but please don't take it personally in any way. Frankly, you provide some of the better edits on the website. Having high quality Edits and scans submitted. It was great having edits come through for the guide section for example. The odd few edits may inevitably get denied (I was posting on the error thread almost every week so I know how that feels haha) but its just something that can happen with these niche items.

However, this is not to say that the entry names for this group of items are ideal. From my observation, 78152 and 270645 should have two entry name descriptors (e.g. (card text left / Achtung!) and (card text left / Deutsche Version)) while clarifying in the Description field that they were released in Germany. 270641 (and 270642) should omit the TLD. I will let nathan776 handle those actions, though.

I agree that the name changes would be more ideal and will change them momentarily.

Probably not going to buy a console anytime soon. I always wait a good few years before the big releases now-a-days (though might be tempted with the Switch 2). I just don't feel any incentive to buy the newer consoles when my older ones can run the same games perfectly fine. I might be tempted to buy a disc drive because I have to imagine that it'll be scalped to a great degree and I don't want to pay an astronomical sum of money when I do eventually decide to buy it.
