Unless I'm overlooking some small detail, then I see no reason for that artwork to be rejected if it's submitted to the correct entry.

it's to this listing which currently has incorrect german front cover art. while the rest is english including backside and field description

https://vgcollect.com/item/78152

also the supposed barcode for a right english version already has a seperate entry with different barcode so mine being rejected makes no sense

https://vgcollect.com/item/270642

I've already addressed how the above artwork is incorrect for 78152. So, if it's submitted to that entry, it will be rejected a third time. All items with barcode 4012927024300 feature the "Achtung!" label and a USK rating.

change the barcode than cause all the other info for said listing is for the english version.

Most people who added the game to the collection have an english version only a fraction has german
it's the most popular listing for this game

the listing has barely an german info in it aside from the barcode and front pic that was altered

I cannot attest for why the barcode was initially changed however I have provided the matching front image for the specific listing based on the barcode provided (Example listing: www.ebay.de/itm/296729807963 ).

In terms of what takes precedent, the barcode is what is relied on for what version a item is as its the clearest indication of what an item is meant to actually be. In many instances there is a mish-mash of information which needs to be corrected to a specific version.

I have not denied any image relating to these items and welcome anyone to add improved images where possible. A lot of the items listed can be difficult to gather great images of due to either their rarity or simply good images not being available at the time. Frequently I revisit items I have created when I become aware of a better image available to me.

Completely understand your point regarding users possibly having the wrong item in their collection now due to the barcode change 2 years ago. Perhaps it would be better to of merged users to the relevant version before the barcode change however I have no context as to what caused the changed and wasn't even a moderator at that point of time. *Edit* Possibly the back image?

Also, I get that it can be frustrating when an edit gets denied but please don't take it personally in any way. Frankly, you provide some of the better edits on the website. Having high quality Edits and scans submitted. It was great having edits come through for the guide section for example. The odd few edits may inevitably get denied (I was posting on the error thread almost every week so I know how that feels haha) but its just something that can happen with these niche items.

However, this is not to say that the entry names for this group of items are ideal. From my observation, 78152 and 270645 should have two entry name descriptors (e.g. (card text left / Achtung!) and (card text left / Deutsche Version)) while clarifying in the Description field that they were released in Germany. 270641 (and 270642) should omit the TLD. I will let nathan776 handle those actions, though.

I agree that the name changes would be more ideal and will change them momentarily.

Probably not going to buy a console anytime soon. I always wait a good few years before the big releases now-a-days (though might be tempted with the Switch 2). I just don't feel any incentive to buy the newer consoles when my older ones can run the same games perfectly fine. I might be tempted to buy a disc drive because I have to imagine that it'll be scalped to a great degree and I don't want to pay an astronomical sum of money when I do eventually decide to buy it.

The front and back artwork for https://vgcollect.com/item/35835 are the prototype boxes for the unreleased 1983 game and not the unofficial release by CGE Services.  I can upload the correct boxes for the unofficial release , but I wanted to notify the mods prior to submitting the edit as this can get confusing.  I'll wait to upload until one of the mods acknowledges this post.

I can see what you mean. Feel free to upload the correct images to the front and back and I will approve them.

Personally I feel that a lot of older forums lose members and activity over time. I think this is partially down to users that have already registered slowly losing interest as time moves on (different priorities etc) and the feeling that there are more alternatives to forums that many people prefer to communicate socially on. A lot of newer communities use discord or a combination of both discord and forums to maintain engagement. While I understand that some feel that discord can drive people away from forums, I feel the benefits outweigh that.

In terms of the database, it definitely still gets used. I'm unsure how many people come back and continue to use it however after they have initially setup their collection. I'd like to see some more quality of life features to have the database feel more functional for some categories. For example I'd like for both Variants and Editions of an item to fall under one name and to be selectable from there. I like being able to submit variants when I get free time but for the average users - it must be confusing if you want to browse a category.

I wasn't the person to reject any developer edits but it sounds like they may not of been submitted to the database. Anything not submitted to the database will show as NA when submitting edits.

To submit new Developers to the database a post should be made in this thread: https://vgcollect.com/forum/index.php/topic,5820.0.html
The request is then reviewed and added to the database so it can be selected.

Classic Video Games / Re: PriceCharting.

I've never really used pricecharting. A quick glance at recent sold listings is often enough for me to determine a price I'd like to pay for an item. I don't feel like I need an additional website to tell me that information. I wouldn't use price as a measure of authenticity either. A common item I'd see on eBay is counterfeit Pokemon games going for astronomical prices. In contrast I have definitely had some great purchases of legitimate items from either last minute bids or early buy it nows. In general though if I don't personally feel comfortable verifying an item myself, I wont purchase it.

Expedition 33 looked great and is definitely something that I'll give a go.
Black ops 6 being on game pass means I'll play it and probably get addicted for a month.
Perfect Dark had me intrigued.

FragPunks card system seemed extremely similar to Friends Vs. Friends.

Can't really say anything else really made me go "wow I have to play that". Sure if its on gamepass I'll probably download it anyway but eh.

Couple of recent online purchases that I expect to arrive soon

Teardown (Series X) Amazon Purchase that I've been wanting to play for a while
FC 24 and Lets Go Pikachu (Switch) - Got them for a decent price so will just trade them in to get something I want
Bioshock Collectors Edition (360) - Couldn't help myself at the price. Slowly grabbing some collectors editions while I can.
A Couple of Xbox One Games - I don't know why but I'm slowly feeling more compelled to collect promotional copies of games when I see them. 2 were in this bundle and an additional game just covered the price of the lot.

I don't feel as if I have ever really engaged with any of these websites significantly for many years at this point. It will be interesting to see what changes are made to the websites or if they will just keep to the status quo. I'd assume a significant downsizing may occur/closures in the short to mid term however.

I have recently been replaying The Talos Principle with the hope to play The Talos Principle 2 shortly after.
It's nice to be able to play a game that isn't so competitive or forced co-op every now and again. I feel like most of the time I'm gaming it's always with friends and it isn't as relaxing compared to how it used to be.

I'm really hoping The Witness goes on sale at some point on console as I also want to replay that.

Also did a little bit of Pokemon Sapphire although I didn't get too far in, just farming Rare Candies with 5 Zigzagoons haha.

The image on the back cover is of a Standard release, not a platinum.
A release that is English, Dutch(?) and Greek does seem to exist but with a different front cover.
