Mm. Are photos taken with a phone acceptable as long as they're square-on and the lighting is decent? I don't have a scanner at home to do it properly.

You probably wouldn't encounter this issue a lot if you're in NA or EU, but I've only been a member of the site for about a week now and I've already encountered a dozen or so instances where I've needed to add AU variants, which just means I copy/paste everything, change the title if necessary, the rating, and maybe the cover art (or just download/reupload). Sometimes I'm not bothered and just add it as the NA version. Just seems like a bunch of unnecessary steps to me, and I don't think the ability to see the usefulness in some automation constitutes laziness.

Eh. It was worth a try.

Ah man, that sucks, but I'm happy to hear nothing was taken. When I was in highschool my brother and I had a lot of gaming stuff between us, including a PS2 with at least a dozen games, a DSlite each and maybe a dozen games, etc. After getting more comfortable in what was known as a bad neighbourhood, we invited the local kids over sometimes to play games with us, but at that age we couldn't understand that those kids weren't like us, they'd been trained by older siblings to essentially befriend people and scout their homes for valuables so that thefts can be planned later. Sure enough, when we all routinely went out one time we came back to all of our gaming equipment gone. Clearly the work of idiots, who walked right past laptops and other things worth more than what they chose to take, but they took things they either wanted or knew the value of I guess. Filed a report with the police the same day, including a full inventory. That's the last we heard about that. Didn't associate with any of the neighbours again after that. I suppose the reason I bring that up is because your break-in was obviously targeted. They knew what they were going in for. You can't very well just start keeping your collection a complete secret, because part of the fun of having it is to show it to people who appreciate it, but yeah I guess all you can do is make the room you store your valuables in difficult to breach, and yeah add surveillance. You'd think I'd have learned from my own experience, but I currently have no protection against thieves aside from the standard locks on the doors. But that's partly because surveillance cameras in my case would cost more than the items they're surveying.

Basically I just want the text fields in the Submit New Item form (Step 2) prepopulated, rather than copy/pasting everything about an essentially duplicate entry where only minor adjustments are needed for the regional variant like title, rating, release date, etc. Ideally this would be implemented by allowing the search on the Submit New Item form (Step 1) to return results that are a partial title match but not a platform match (maybe include a broaden search checkbox so not to piss people off), and then having a link under or next to each item that says something along the lines of Add something like this, which, when clicked, would continue to the form (Step 2) as normal, but it would be prepopulated with the selected item's data rather than being empty, allowing you to make the minor changes more quickly. *welcomes automation*

Far as I can tell, there isn't a more suitable category for games like this purchased on mobile devices (but I only joined a few days ago). A mobile category subdivided by platform, not device (except in cases of devices like the Nokia N-Gage which use proprietary carts), would be pretty good. I guess so long as people can accurately express the extent of their license, in the case of digital games, that's all that matters. I only care about listing Final Fantasy as an iOS / App Store game, no one really cares what device I'm playing it on at the time.

edit. I did just notice that some Android titles exist in the Other>Other category.

I concur. I searched for forum posts mentioning "iOS" or "iPhone" because I noticed there wasn't a searchable category for them. Normally I would understand the reservation, but I was actually looking to add my digital copies of Final Fantasy I, II, & III to my collection here since I purchased them on the App Store years ago. It may be an unconventional way to play the games, but what can you do. I don't want to make the mistake of a later repurchase of software I already have a license to, so I'd like it included here for that reason. Of course, that would also open the floodgates to lots of trash making it into people's collections here, but that's their prerogative isn't it?
