Video Game Auction Watch / Re: Japanese Saturn Advice
« on: February 14, 2013, 01:46:01 am »
I don't own one but the store I work at is selling an in-box Japanese Saturn in really good condition for $100. (Haven't checked to see if it has all the manuals, etc.)
We check our prices pretty religiously-- buying from a game store means you're going to pay what it's worth though. I'd say that's probably about the right price, but it's your preference on whether or not you want to buy it at its value.

Most of our beloved FF games are going to be on sale on PSN for the next two weeks!
What do you think this means for the value of FF games currently?

Site Feedback / Re: Feature Request: Sort by Price

I think prices and game value are exactly whats wrong with this hobby. If you have people interested in buying you a gift, just write em a list. Im glad this place doesnt place value on stuff. Stadium events is 1 spot on the list just like E.T. and SMB. I really wouldnt be happy if collections on here start having a value.
It's not about collecting only rare and expensive games, but some really interesting and good games ARE expensive. Final Fantasy, etc. We all go about this hobby in different ways. :)

The problem with the the prices is that it's just whatever has been listed on Amazon so you wouldn't know if it is actually worth that much or not.
I think a better site for pricing is eStarland.com. Maybe I'm proposing two feature requests then-- a more reliable site to judge prices from and a "sort by price" option?

There are in no particular order because...how could I?

Pokemon-- Blue was my first, Gold/Silver are probably my favorite. HG/SS were great remakes.
Sonic-- I guess my most played are Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure Battle 2. But love the original Sonic and Sonic 2 for the Genesis.
Halo-- Geeked out so much when the first one came out. Still a good franchise.
Legend of Zelda-- Hard to pick a favorite on this one but my childhood was a lot of Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask.
Starfox 64-- the 3DS remake of this is fun, too!
Final Fantasy-- Still haven't gotten around to playing all of them but VII and IX are my favorites so far
Oddworld-- TOTALLY underrated but Munch's Odysee is one of my all-time favorite games. So weird!
Mario Party/Mario Kart-- Any of them. Such great games to play with friends.
Animal Crossing-- Maybe a girl game, but a great feel-good franchise
GTA-- And other Rockstar games like Red Dead and LA Noire

I'm still young and getting around to playing a lot of games though!

My family knows that collecting is a hobby of mine and I know they would love to help me with my collection as birthday/Christmas gifts. It would be really helpful if there was a "sort by price" option on the wishlists. That way anyone looking to spend 25 dollars on me can see what I don't have that would cost them about that much, etc.
Thanks!
