To have all the games worth playing in the best version and hardware possible for each of them. Easier said than done. Especially as older games are now starting to get re-released in sometimes improved versions.

I will never need to get a Playstation given the games are best played in PS3 or PSVita for example. Old DOS games you can run on DOSBox or reworked and often with fixed bugs on GOG releases. Blade Runner is a good example of a difficult to play game on current systems if not the GOG version.

PS3 had lackluster exclusives? It's the one console with the most exclusives that were system sellers on their own almost.... The Last of Us, Gran Turismo 5, Uncharted series, Dark Souls, God of War 3...

In the current day and age, when those generations have been done and finished with for two decades now, unless you're a completionist physical media collector you only get consoles for games exclusive to them or on which there is the best version of games you want to play. SNES has so few games that fit that description that for me, it really isn't on the radar.

Seriously, what game on SNES, not available on other platforms, is worth getting one for these days?
