Magic eraser works for me as long as I don't press too hard.

If you press too hard you will discolor the cart slightly but it still looks better than marker IMO.

I've never tried nail polish remover so I'll give that a whirl next time.

I hate the stickers as well

Gamestop in my area finally started using easy to peel stickers.

Also marker writing bothers me although mr. Clean magic eraser works like a charm

One method that I am using to help complete my NES collection is that there is a reseller at a fleamarket near my place who sells games at pretty much their auction value on ebay.

So he doesn't price his stuff insanely high.

He also gives decent trade in value on games so what I do is scour kijiji and other local classified sites for people selling stuff at below value and buy up the best deals I can find and trade them in for his games.

For example:

I bought a PS2 bundle with some games I needed for my collection for $100 and traded in the doubles for $50 trade and used that to get mint cartridge copies of Mega Man 6 and Mega Man 3

If You can find a reseller that gives decent trade value it could be the route to go.

Basically if I can buy something and get double the amount in trade I can get stuff half off.

It was actually kind of odd.

He obviously had no idea what they were worth or he did not care.

He was selling a Dreamcast with a bunch of common games for $100 so I think he was just basing his prices on how old the hardware was.

He mentioned that Shining Force III was hard to find but he still sold me everything for $40.

The battery in the console was dead so I'll have to replace it before I can save anything.

Recently got a sega Saturn with 2 controllers and the following games

Shining force 3
Albert odyssey
Road rash
Quake
Sega rally

All for $40.  Games were all complete and mint.  The first and so far only games in my Saturn collection.

Right now I am working on a complete NES and SNES collections.

About 25% done the NES and just started the SNES (have about 25 games).  I'd also like to get the manuals if possible.

I am just going for cart only as the boxes are very expensive and just seem fragile.  I would be worried about taking care of them and it would not want to have to go into the boxes carefully to ensure they don't get damaged every time I want to play something.

I am storing all of my NES and SNES games in Universal Game Cases and inserting cover art from thecoverproject.net.

I am about 1/4 of the way though getting my games in theses cases and so far it looks really slick.

I'll post some pictures when it's complete.
