Modern Video Games / Re: Upcoming Niche Japanese Games

I didn't see this mentioned anywhere here, let alone announced anywhere else, so I apologise if I'm just repeating what someone else has posted and/or if this isn't the right place to ask...

A Tales of Symphonia Chronicles + Tales of Graces Compilation which seems to be going for about £15 on preorder. Only on Rice Digital the release date says 27th of March, whilst on two other stores it says 3rd of April.

Anyone else heard of this?

I haven't, but I only track NA releases. I don't know WHAT you guys are up to "on the other side of the pond". :P

I see :<
I thought it might have a NA release as well, but couldn't find any other versions, which is why I asked. It'd be odd if it was EU only.

Picked up Dynasty Warriors Next for the Vita. I know next to nothing about the quality of this game, but it was fairly cheap so I thought 'why not?' :P I'll probably give it a try in a couple of weeks.

This game was sort of a let down for me. I wasn't prepared for little screen Dynasty battles. Also I had a hard time determining what difficulty level to set the game at. Seemed like things were way too easy, or starting to get too difficult if I went to high.

The "online" feature was pretty silly too.

Decided to play a bit after reading your reply. Thankfully you kept my expectations from getting too high! The difficulty confused me a bit as well. A beginner AND an easy mode? I found that a bit odd. The camera and touch screen mini games are a bit annoying as well, though it didn't stop me from playing 3 hours straight.

Not sure I'll bother with its "online" feature...

That is a nice shirt~
I picked up Atelier Rorona Plus for the PS3 a couple days ago. Wasn't planning on buying a game this month, but seeing it going for £10 I couldn't leave it there :<

A mix of gifts and stuff I got for myself for Christmas.

Some more love for the lovely vita, thanks to my parents:
- Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc (big surprise there!)
- Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA f 2nd
- Tales of Hearts R
- Freedom Wars

And then Fantasy Life, which admittedly is my most played game since Christmas. Never thought it would be this fun.
I also picked up Short Peace: Ranko Tsukigime's Longest Day which was on sale for £10. I've been wanting to buy it after I finish some games and make more space on my PS3, but after 2 hours of contemplating I went for it anyway >_<

Hopefully I'll be able to play through and buy more games throughout 2015... Happy new year everyone c:

Another Code: R for the Wii
Metal Gear Rising for the PS3
Chocobo Tales for the DS

I also took a dive and got a PS Vita Slim, with Tearaway and Rayman Origins. Birthday money well spent, I'd say!

Atelier Meruru arrived through the mail this earlier this morning. I'm finally getting somewhere with collecting the Atelier series.

Got Tomodachi Life for more or less half price when I showed my 2ds at the counter. This game will stop me from getting through my backlog this summer :c

Nothing much this month :c I got Arcana Heart 3 for the ps3. Pretty fun but probably the last fighting game I buy and play for a while, as I've spent way too much time on them lately.

Also got yet another Tales of Xillia 2 poster signed by Hideo Baba. Not exactly a game but I am quite happy to have got that :D

General / Re: So why do we care about instructions manuals anyway?

I may be one of very few, but I personally like looking through them every once in a while, whether I've finished the game or not. Some have nice artwork in them too.
Other than that, it's mostly the feeling of having a "complete" game. Not having a manual bothers me as much as say, a dent in the case.

Couple years ago I would have said my Nintendo Wii. But then I discovered it's library beyond Mario and all the overly advertised dance games...

It's not really my console, but my sister got a 360 years back. I had my console so she just HAD to have her own, and to me having the amazing console I'd always watched my neighbours play sounded great. We played it for a few months before we abandoned it. My Xbox-loving cousin tried to get us back into it with Tomb Raider last year, but now it's back to collecting dust as my sister refuses to sell it. Personally, something about the 360 just isn't as...fun :-\

Got Hoshigami and Rhythm Paradise on the DS as my last game purchases this year. Hoshigami is either stupidly hard or I just fail at the game and it's genre :(

Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast. We didn't have a lot of games for the Dreamcast back then so that was all I really played. I remember hating Big's story, and always getting lost in Mystic Ruins D:

2. This means finding a copy of Dokapon Kingdom for the Wii :c

Haha, Dokapon Kingdom is good.  Let me know what your price range for it is, and I'll keep an eye out for it.

That's very kind of you, thank you~ I have no idea what my price range might be, as I've never seen it for sale before to make an estimate. I think I'd pay anything eventually haha
