Hardware and Tech / Re: PS4 Controller broken?
« on: September 21, 2020, 08:13:20 pm »
When I charge my Dualshock 4's They flash yellow once and no more when they are already charged sufficiently. About 8o% or better they won't continue to charge. I also buy charging bases which have a USB adapter that only requires to be installed once and stays there to rest in the charger base. I hate micro USB connectors on all devices and do what I can to use them as little or as gently as possible. But I think once the controllers battery is drained enough, it will continue to flash and charge.

Site Feedback / Can't find a way to unfollow
« on: January 12, 2020, 03:01:37 pm »
Time and time again when I open this app I am greeted with other peoples collections that inadvertently got followed. I want to go back to seeing my collection when I open the site. Any help?

Hey all collectors, Just wondering how many of your gaming collections start with a "007" in the title? Mine is "007 Legends" for WiiU.

I have a ton of digital games, and I don't count a single one here. (If I do, it's because a physical version wasn't listed despite my having a physical version). I will never add digital games here. I can play them, but I don't consider them a part of my collection.
Great to see  passionate responses This site has great members!

What's with the gatekeeping? A digital game is still part of an overall game collection. VGCollect obviously has many categories for digital games.

I use this site so I can know what I have, not to brag about the size.
No one is bragging about size, only people who list digital games do that! LOL Just kidding Now that I see the site separates the two there is no reason for any hate toward physical collectors or visa versa

How about starting a video game book section right here in this database? Seems they represent physical tangible history of games and should now be included. Some are hard to find and rare just like the games themselves so a publication section would be awesome! Can also contribute a lot to something like that as I've collected video game history books all the while with the actual games.

Digital only games really have no substance for collectors and was wondering if they should really be included in this type of database. Seems to me one can list hundreds of games in this collection database and really have nothing at home to show for it. Of course anyone can add anything here and there is no proof of ownership as I guess this database only provides a personal list of games an individual needs to keep track of. No one else's business I guess, but when I see someone padding the digital realm of collections it takes from the actual games produced, and coveted by collectors. Sorry for the rant. V.

Site Feedback / Followers and following
« on: November 15, 2019, 07:17:18 pm »
No offense to any members but how does one un-follow people? I do not like the way my default view is a list of people I no longer wish to follow, or can I just see my collection again without un-following? every time I open this site I see all the followed peoples collection with no way to default back to my own collection. Any direction with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yep. playstation controllers are a lot more common and the classic design goes back to the original. It was all I ever used for almost a decade and Logitech and Saitec made playstation clones for the PC even when Sony kept proprietary to its consoles. It is an iconic design. I must say however that the 360 controller was pushed hard as a PC alternative with actual PC specific wireless recievers and  wired versions. I think Microsoft eventually wants to combine xbox and PC into one platform, so they concentrated hard on making their own controllers more usable. I also have never broken an Xbox controller but have gone through many a Playstation controller. The reverse may be the case for others but that's just the luck I've had.

Just wanted to put my 2 cents in on this.. The Xbox controllers from original S to Xbox one are in my opinion the finest OEM controllers ever made. They just feel right and I think the quality sets them apart from all the rest. I used to think the SNES controller was great until the PS1 controller came along (with analogue). Then the Gamecube controller was excellent for a brief moment until Xbox. The way Xbox controllers fit the hand and work make them now the ones to beat, wired or wireless. Because the real mark of a great console is the tactile experience one gets from the controller in your hand, not the brand of the system. So I guess I agree?

Hey there. I was just looking at your post and just wanted to let you know my experiences with racing wheels.
Ever since the Colecovision I've always looked into racing wheels for all my consoles. Not much exists before the PS1 era.
Nothing good anyway. Interact and Madcatz made a lot of decent wheels for PS1/2, Saturn and Dreamcast. For Gamecube ,PS3,Xbox and Wii I have almost exclusive Logitec wheels.
And unfortunatley almost all wheels are console specific. For a while Madcatz and Hori made some that fit a couple of consoles of the same era like Xbox PS2 and Gamecube all in one.
The best brands by far are Thrustmaster, Logitec and Hori of late. Thrustmaster being the most expensive and having the most accessories. Logitec being the best for newer consoles and Hori making decent budget wheels for mostly Sony and Xbox. My advice is buy used and buy least expensive. Only hard core driving gamers buy 500 doller wheels and seats to mount them on. I've always had fun using good condition, second hand wheels that were specific to the console. You do not even need to get wheel/pedal combos either. Takes up to much room and all you want to do is pretend your driving anyway. Most driving games will work with a wheel because the wheel still simulates a controller. Have fun and make some space for all those wheels!    Also I see you have a 360.That is by far the best racing game console you have and microsoft made a fantastic wheel system for that console. All games worked with it and the 360 had a ton of driving games Id start there.

Modern Video Games / Re: How much longer do you think the 3DS has?
« on: February 27, 2019, 09:55:33 pm »
The switch still hasn't the support of xbox or playstation, {ie install base} so here's hoping that the awesome handheld that is 3Ds can go on receiving titles that true portable/handheld lovers can continue to play. DS brand still is infinitely more portable than even switch, and has a long and massive following. I just can't believe in a world without a true portable game system. And no mobile phones do not count
