So so many things I've wanted to buy are now things I'm never going to buy, even though I really want them. I'd love to get physical copies of the PS1 Persona games, for example, but over $800 for two games is just insanity. I'm so glad emulation is a thing otherwise I'd never have tried out tons and tons of games because they, and their games, are just so damn expensive.

I don't use the on-site lists for tracking games playing and beaten.

However, I do use this site for tracking physical owned games and digital games in a limited capacity. Lately I've been cutting down on what I have, really trying to only hold onto things I actually want to keep and getting games I like or hope I'll like. I haven't been buying many games lately since retro games are so so expensive now, most of the ones I wanted are unaffordable for me now. Which is kinda nice since it means less money to spend... or it just means it'll be wasted on other junk lol
I do also use its wishlist feature. Though sometimes I forget what I have in said wishlist and accidentally dupe what's already in it, or I directly add a game to what I own instead of moving from the wishlist since I forgot about it lol.

Got Der Langrisser on SFC, which I've wanted to get for quite a long time. I'm just glad that there was at least one game I really wanted to get whose price wasn't skyrocketed into "I have better things to spend that much money on" levels.

General / Re: How do you organize your games and consoles?
« on: April 12, 2022, 09:59:12 pm »
I used to have my "modern" console games lined up alphabetically, not sorted by system, but I got tired of my brother complaining so I sorted them alphabetically by system since.
My SNES games are in a sturdy box, alphabetized, as well as my loose SFC games in the same box. My boxed SFC games are elsewhere.
My consoles... let's not talk about that haha.

General / Re: A Year in Review - 2021
« on: December 16, 2021, 05:32:53 pm »
I'm not really sure I should bother replying considering I have played exactly three games that released this year, and I've only finished one of them but whatever

Favorite 2021 Release: Maybe Shin Megami Tensei V? I do also really like Ys IX.

Least Favorite 2021 Release:  Not enough played to make a fair judgement

Favorite Game Played in 2021: Now this is hard, since I've done a lot of game playing this year. Maybe, hmm, oh, duh, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd. Or maybe Trails to Azure.

Least Favorite Game Played in 2021: Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia

Sleeper Hit of 2021: Idk

Favorite Gaming Moment in 2021: When my brother and I were playing Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion in Star Wars: The Old Republic and one boss fight ended up perfectly recreating the Darth Maul fight in Episode 1 due to silly things we probably weren't supposed to be doing.

Proudest Collection Accomplishment of 2021: I don't collect, but getting a PS4 was pretty exciting.

I have always been more of a "buy games I'm going to play" person and not a "buy games that I'll stick on the shelf and never look at ever again" kind of person. I do buy impulsively sometimes, but I try to curate what I have the best I can... it can be difficult though when you have a lot of worthless junk that no one wants.

Got a PS4 games:

Atelier Sophie
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III

and a Switch game:
Shin Megami Tensei V (normal edition, not the steelbook. And I still need to wait for it in the mail)

Modern Video Games / Re: Games in 2022

Not too much I'm looking forward to in 2022, there's Atelier Sophie 2, The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero, and the new Kirby. I'm not really sure I'm going to be getting any of them at launch, other than maybe Trails from Zero, even though I've already played the original PC version that's based off the PSP original and the version the official localization is based off of is marginally different.

I will say, I'm definitely not terribly excited about the new Saints Row. I'd love a new one in the style of 1 and 2 but since the devs have made their opinions on those two games very clear I doubt that's going to happen. I'll probably buy it if it drops to like $5 - $10 but otherwise I don't plan on it.

Technically from February but w/e

PS1
Final Fantasy Tactics - Case is cracked, but whatever. Was never sure if I wanted to play the PSP version or the PS1 version, but it appears fate decided for me haha
Star Wars Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire - I found out this game just doesn't work on PS3 which is a bummer. Just means I'll have to wait until I have my PS2 on hand again

PS2
Resident Evil Code Veronica X

General / Re: What grail games do you wish you had
« on: March 03, 2021, 10:26:10 am »
I guess my #1 rare game I wish I had was Revelations: Persona. I've emulated it because it's too expensive and I've sort of come to like the PS1 version of P1 more than the PSP version.

Next would be Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. I've played through the PS1 Classics version but I'd love to own a physical copy of it.

Last, the 2000 release of Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. I have the Nintendo Power version from 1999, but It'd be super neat to have the game and its dedicated box and cartridge, instead of the plain white NP box and cart. Alternatively, the Deluxe Edition would be super neat, but uh a little too expensive haha

Classic Video Games / Re: What's your Mario kart series tier list
« on: April 09, 2020, 10:28:13 am »
I've only played Mario Kart 8, Double Dash, Super Mario Kart, and Super Circuit for any considerable amount of time
1. Double Dash
By far my favorite, the two person karts, fun stages, lots of unique items, much fun was had with this one
2. 8
I've only played this a few times, I had fin, but the spinning and looping levels are a bit disorienting
3. Super Mario Kart
Back when I was little I never really played this much (instead going for Super Mario World) but I like this one, even if it isn't that great
4. Super Circuit
I can't actually recall the last time I played Super Circuit but I don't hate it unlike how most people seem to

I haven't beaten very many FF games but here's what I got
1. FF9
2. FF6
3. FF7
4. FF2
5. FF4
I haven't really touched Dragon Quest other than some of DQ5.

Classic Video Games / Re: Your Focus on Collecting?
« on: March 31, 2020, 02:38:16 pm »
I just get games I'm interested in, whether it's PS2, Gamecube, whatever; I don't focus on one particular system because I don't buy games just to own them. That said, I do sometimes impulse buy at the local thrift store when it has something mildly interesting which is not often

I picked up a few Super Robot Wars games:
Original Generations and Original Generation Gaiden on PS2 and 2nd Super Robot Wars OG on PS3. All for rather cheap too which is nice.
