Is it okay if I use your listing format? The start and end date is something that I never thought of using and I really want to implement it on my list

of course!!

i had set mine up that way as i know i will consistantly not finish in a single sitting/day so i just threw it up like that

p.s.  ijm stealing your rating column tho  ;)

Hardware and Tech / Re: Sony Trinitron 24" crt tv crackling when turned off
« on: September 30, 2020, 04:53:42 pm »
pardon this bastard explanation, but as my grandfather explained to me:

old crts generate a pretty substantial static field when fired up (place your arm near the screen and you can see your hairs lift)  when powered off that energy is still there but the cathode ray is now off causing a surplus of (negatively) charged particles in a concentrated area and they wish to disperse into equilibrium and as they do there are small arcs of electricity and that is the crackling sound you hear.

i had the same trinitron tv back in the day, man i need to reacquire on for my lightgun and beat based games

does the PSX work normally on an older tv? have you tested the HDMI cable with another unit (dvd bluray etc)  it could just be the av wires/hdmi going bad and not a problem with the converter.   have you any other consoles to test the converter?

EDIT just re-read OP ignore me.......please..........

swap meet $15-20 max unless it's CIB then maybe $55

most expensive game I've ever bought would have to be Steel Battalion (new when it first came out) $360.00 shipped.  still have it too

I have not, yet I used the heat gun trick on mine until I am able to locate a viable BC 60g ps3 fat then I am going to enlist their services

most of the ones out there are kind of a hack and a lot of people WON'T recommend doing this.  but if you aren't going to send it in to the professionals http://www.ps3specialist.com/playstation3-gpu-reballing-service/# the only advice I think any one can give you is
A)  get a nice heat gun with 2 temp settings
B)  disassemble the ENTIRE console down to the main board
C)  don't forget to buy the thermal heat sink paste ahead of time
D)  stay away form ANY youtube hack that uses a basic hairdryer

now there is a debate out there as to whether or not this is even a permanent fix because if you do manage to heat the chips up high enough and not the rest of the board there is a chance that all you have done is warp the board enough to get the bad BGA to make contact and not reflow the solder at all

Video Game Database Discussion / Re: Listing Errors 2016
« on: December 23, 2016, 07:46:55 pm »
hello, first time posting here.  I was going through and cataloguing some of my NES carts when I found an odd duck.  my wizards and warriors cart for nes does not fall into either listed versions
https://vgcollect.com/item/5678 or https://vgcollect.com/item/11631
the first 3 screw cart shows a pic with a white oval seal but my 3 screw cart has the small black round seal like the 5 screw cart
I tried to create a new listing but it was rejected

I have pics of my cart but I don't know why the insert image button refuses to work.....

also I believe https://vgcollect.com/item/22060 intellivoice should be in intellivision-intellivision hardware not hardware-accessory

(again sorry I cant seem to load pics the insert image button does nothing for me.  BTW you have an amazing site!)
