Off Topic / Re: Do You Listen To Random Music Playlists?
« on: November 10, 2021, 12:56:31 am »
I mostly listen to music on Spotify; I have one evergrowing 1200+ songs playlist which is just a dump of all the music that I like, and a dozen of playlists for a particular genre/theme. Most of the time I listen to them on shuffle, but once in a while I listen to complete albums. As for the random songs offered by Spotify/Youtube, they're mostly either stuff I've already heard a million times or are too biased to a specific genre, so I rarely listen to them.

Off Topic / Re: What Was The Last Movie/Anime You Watched?

Saw "Josee to Tora to Sakana-tachi" at a movie theathre today. While it's, in a sense, a classic romance story, it still feels somewhat fresh, with a plot twist that was rather predictable, but still caught me by surprise, and the characters certainly are believable. An interesting thing about this anime is that the main characters are of about my age - most animes are either about high schoolers or ~30+ adults. The art style is nothing special, but is enough to look good and don't get in the way of watching the movie. My only issue with this one is that the ending felt rather abrupt. Still, worth a watch if you don't expect anything extraordinary.

Like a lot of people, I bought the Switch for BOTW. Even though it didn't impress me as much as I was hoping it would, I still ended up liking the console itself. It's far from perfect, at least because of the joycon issues (I had to buy a pair of new joycons a year after purchase), but it's still nice to have. I don't spend too much time playing it, but it's very nice to assume a comfy pose on the armchair and play Zelda or whatever else. Or insert it into the dock, press a button on my PC display to switch (ha-ha) the video input and play some Splatoon.

And the recent announcement of both N64 and Sega Genesis games for NSO got me a bit excited; N64 means another F-Zero title on the Switch and Genesis gives me faint hope for some Dreamcast classics in the future. I just hope the Online "expansion" price will be reasonable.

What I miss in the Switch is the versatility of PSP. Back in the day I used it as a e-Book reader (a DS Lite does this job for me now), movie center, music player and gaming console - all in one device. But with Nintendo's policy of having the Switch purely as a gaming console and nothing else, perhaps I won't be getting all this unless I jailbreak my console. And, well, it's not like it will be as useful as years ago, if useful at all.

Off Topic / Re: The Dream Trip

A trans-Japan trip from Hokkaido to Okinawa would've been great. But, I guess that's what a lot of us would like to do.
Apart from this, I'd love to tour the Baltic states (Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia) and Canada, especially Québec and the Maritimes.
