Hi guys! its been a while, looks like I logged in for the first time since February 2022 just to catch some of you having epiphanies about buying things you don't really want. Good on ya! As for me, I badly miss actually getting to play my collection, but I'm so busy with school that I don't know if I have the time to even update my collection on the site. Next time I catch myself laying around I'll probably get around to organizing all my power cords and video cables for unused systems into plastic bags like I wanted to.

I finally got around to seeing Tropic Thunder. Felt like a fraud without it. So much better and all around funnier than I expected, why do they make Tom Cruise a badass instead of letting him be a weirdo (which he excels at here).

characters and costumes look identical to their video game counterparts.

Honestly? I expect WW3 to break out in the next couple years and nukes to be used... so I'm not sure if my kids will survive let alone my collection.

Stock up on batteries to last a decade and leave your kids a single gameboy with tetris.

I have to admit I'm kind of surprised how much more gamers this is leaning. I can't remember exactly why but when I was here last year I had the feel that most people barely had time to play games at all and were just amassing collections for the heck of it.

I feel like you just started this thread to complain about how there are people that arent as wise with their money as you.

Once the summer ended it became 95% Collecting 5% playing. It's not like I have no time. But I really don't want to keep starting all the games that I am buying then abandoning them. So I'm only allowing myself to play Skyrim and Destiny 1 because I put considerable time into them this summer, and so when I don't feel like playing those, I don't play. Contrast that with collecting, where I can do that anytime and anywhere.

I'm typically fine with them as it gives the newer generations an easier chance at playing them and thanks to achievements, gives me an excuse to revisit them.

Where I don't like it is when it's a very lazy port and/or a cash grab. Great examples of this would be how when Square Enix brought the early Final Fantasy games and Chrono Trigger to PC, they were just half-assed ports of the mobile versions, even still using the mobile UI. Or ow when they brought the Angry Birds games to consoles, they were charging $40 bucks for them even though they changed practically nothing from the original $1 mobile game.

you watch too much scott the woz

It seems like the advance collection on switch release has all of you guys on a Castlevania buying frenzy right now

The only negative that I can think of is that remasters and ports will delay actual brand new fresh games.

Or in the worst case you get a situation like GTA V  ::)
I would disagree, I think ports and remasters HELP with getting new games because they can show demand for a game series and introduce newcomers on the same level as veterans by having them play the same games. Think about Crash Banidcoot 4, I dont think that would have happened if N sane trilogy wasn't so popular.
