I did another video, this one was fairly different than the others I've produced, since as the Thread title implies, I looked at 2 games this time!
Even the way in which I'm editing required some elaborate adjustments.

Click on Spike & the captured ape to check out my video!!

I haven't played much of Star Fox Zero, but its "innovative" control scheme is very prominent whether you've played Star Fox before or not.  Have any of you played Ape Escape before, how do you feel about its control scheme?

Modern Video Games / Sonic Forces - current turn of events
« on: May 19, 2017, 01:46:32 pm »
So that whole New character is actually a custom create-a-character ma jigger.  Does anyone have an opinion on this, does anyone here even still care about Sonic the Hedgehog.  For whatever reason embedded YouTube videos aren't displaying correctly on my side at least.

http://bit.ly/2q3ZAK6 - You can give that a listen if you would like to here condensed thought accompanied with a British accent

I still believe this is ultimately a good idea, but the very same threats of past Sonic games remain, it's not the ideas but the execution that proves hazardous.  Will have to wait and see I suppose.

Video Showcase / Senran Kagura: Estival Versus - DesignSection
« on: April 02, 2017, 03:28:47 pm »
Here's another DesignSection, I previously did Shantae if some of you recall.  Bit of an oddball find however this time, seems suitable, considering the 'nature' of this series.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiQbcZgWiBo if you don't want to watch the whole thing, give it a skip to about (12:52) https://youtu.be/tiQbcZgWiBo?t=12m52s to get the gist of what I'm talking about.

Does anyone know of any games that have this sort of thing related to its soundtrack? Because this was an unexpected find for me.

Modern Video Games / Upcoming Fire Emblem titles
« on: February 01, 2017, 11:10:19 pm »
So Nintendo has 4 Fire Emblem games announced, Fire Emblem Heroes has JUST released (Based on time zones it's a matter of hours) yet a thread didn't pop up for that Nintendo direct.  I know we have FE fans here (Username rhymes with 'bored rude').  Does anyone mind if I leave this here? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XSCmoAZM2E

Save some time if you wish, here's a summary of my own thoughts:

I'm concerned for Heroes, I trust it will still be a good game, but I'm dreading whether the F2P model will impact the series or even other Nintendo smart device games.

I suppose FE Switch is pretty far off, but  I'm hopeful for a graphical overhaul since Radiant Dawn.

I would like to see more of Warriors eventually since I felt a bit deprived of coverage for that.  Announcing a 3DS version this early was... odd, did Hyrule Warriors Legends sell that well?

Echoes is what I'm interested in, that looks like it'll be a nice change of pace, those fight sequences look far more sophisticated now.

No sure if too many people here are interested in actual game design (or Shantae I guess), but this has been in the pipelines for a while now. Also, you get to here my voice. HAA!  Please enjoy if you'd like to watch

If you have any comments, please feel free.  Seriously, I really appreciate comments and feedback of any kind.

General / Favourite Sports Video Game
« on: August 12, 2016, 12:51:14 pm »
Since I've got the Patriotic blood flowing for the Rio 2016 Olympics, that got me thinking.  If applicable, what's your favourite sports-oriented video game?  Retro or modern, let's here them!

I remember having a good time with Wii Sports Resort, much more variety and much more precision with the Wii Motion Plus accessory, it actually works.  One of the few games of which I'll defend motion controls

GO TEAM GB!!

General / I don't know how to Craigslist >:(
« on: June 19, 2016, 11:00:23 pm »
I'm sorry about this in advance, I just need to vent my frustration, maybe someone here has had a similar experience or a good laugh at my stupidity:  So I finally decided that I needed to pick up a PS4 console, ready for the end of college.  I decided to look on Craigslist to see if I could find a good deal for a standalone console (... oh goodie).  Dammit I feel so stupid, there were so many warning signs fixed to the listing I decided to contact.  To be fair, Craiglist has a whole list of rules to follow when identifying scams ... yep!

1. There were five, I repeat, FIVE listings using the exact same photo

2. The listing mentions 5 games, but only a sealed copy of Fifa 16 can be seen in the photo

3. A second controller can be seen in the photo, but was NEVER mentioned, those things ain't cheap

4. The 'dumbass' wanted me to do a bank transfer because 5% would be deducted from a PayPal payment.  This is incorrect since the cut only applies when dealing with different currencies.

5. I asked about the other 4 games, one of them was 'UFC 2016' (This isn't a game)

6. I assumed the other games had been downloaded rather than asking to see an image

So I have officially been scammed out of £110, I could of given that to save the penguins or something, but no... I was completely blind to EVERY SINGLE SIGN in front of my bloody face.

FF Type-0, Tomb Raider, Senran Kagura, DOA5, Overwatch, Gravity Rush... you're gonna have to wait a little while longer

General / Can anyone help me indentify this game
« on: June 16, 2016, 05:41:39 pm »
This screenshot was taken from a game among a selection of PS1 games, so it's likely that this is a PlayStation game.

It appears to be an Action-RPG, does anybody recognize this game? That HUD in the top left might be a clue

Classic Video Games / The Anomaly of PAC-MAN
« on: February 04, 2016, 12:06:43 pm »
Now I wouldn't classify myself as a retro gamer, but I do have a great appreciation for the retro scene and the huge strives in game design which were made during the time.  PAC-MAN is a solid example.  Now here's my issue:

PAC-MAN hit arcades in the US & Japan in 1980.  That's the US & Japan... what happened with the EU.  The date of Pac-Man's debut in EU is almost intentionally avoided on the wikipedia entries.  The earliest arcade release in Europe I can uncover is Pac-Mania in 1987?  Does anybody have another source, it couldn't of taken 7 years for Pac-Man to make the scene in Europe, could it?!

Modern Video Games / Indivisible - Indiegogo Endeavor
« on: October 30, 2015, 01:43:02 pm »
So I trust that a lot of us have at least been hearing about the Indivisible campaign, looks like it's getting a lot of positive feedback and all.  I really do think it stands among the best kickstarter / Indiegogo video game fund raising campaign.  In fact, here's a short 5 minute analysis I did on that:

Shameless promotion? I don't see too much discussion about the game of VGC, so why not? Do we have any other supporters here?  How do you guys think this whole thing is fairing?  Is this game even going to reach its target at this point?

Hardware and Tech / Refurbished NES issues
« on: October 01, 2015, 03:42:18 pm »
I just bought a 'refurbished' NES from eBay, this is literally the first NES console I've come into contact with, so as per usual of me buying cool things, some stupid problem arises that gets me frustrated.  So this refurbished NES has a new 72-pin connector as you do, the seller noted that the cartridge fit would be much tighter than usual.  I get what he means by that but this is just ridiculous.  Just in case it makes a difference, this is a PAL/EU system.

I psychical can't push the cartridge in anymore than this, I don't want to put much more pressure on it because I feel like the thing is gonna shatter.  Am I doing something wrong here?? Could this anything to do with the replaced connector?

This is the best shot I could get of the connector with having to open up the system, I've google the pin connector, but I think it would be best to get an opinion from someone who has a NES.  What better place than to ask my Friends over at VGCollect
