Video Game Database Discussion / JP 8-bit Link amiibo

Just posted a separate entry for the Japanese import of the 8-bit Link amiibo.  Even though it has the same barcode and item number, the packaging for it is different than The Legend of Zelda 30th Series amiibo.  I noticed once I posted it, the entry was deleted - curious as to why?

General / Game X Change

I was looking at Game X Change's site yesterday, specifically at store locations, and I was amazed at how many there were in Arkansas!  A lot in Oklahoma and Texas, too.  Let me just state how lucky some of you guys are to have such a concentration of stores in each state! 

I've made it a point to stop at all Game X Changes on my way when traveling through Indiana, but didn't realize how many there were south of me (I never go any further south than Springfield, MO).  There used to be one in a town about 20 miles up I-44 from where I live, but it closed before I moved to this part of Missouri.  I believe there's one left in the state in St. Joseph, but it's a good 4-5 hours away.  The "flagship" store in Bentonville, Arkansas is roughly about the same distance from here as the St. Joe location. 

I wonder, if already in Springfield, MO doing some game hunting, would it be worth it to drive another couple of hours and hit up the Bentonville Game X Change?  Has anyone been there, and if so, would it be worth the roadtrip?

PS - If I had the scratch to become a franchisee, I'd totally open a store here in Missouri in a heartbeat.

Microsoft is giving away two free games each month.  This "Games With Gold" promotion started this past June.  You must be a Gold member to take advantage of this offer, and new games are available for download on the 1st and 16th of every month.

Elder Scrolls III Morrowind (The Morrowind Prophecies) - Bought new.  Great condition.  Smaller than standard strategy guide.  Pages are in great shape.

Final Fantasy IX - Bought used.  Good condition.  Wear to front and back covers and spine.  Slight tear in back cover.  Pages are in good shape.
Final Fantasy X - Bought new.  Good condition.  Wear to front and back covers.  Pages are in good shape.
Final Fantasy X-2 - Bought used.  Good condition.  Slight wear to front and back cover.  Price sticker on front cover.  There is writing on several pages (checkmarks, x's, etc.), otherwise they're in good shape.
Final Fantasy XII - Bought new.  This is probably the one guide I have that's in the worst condition.  Front and back cover are almost ripped from spine, and spine is in poor condition.  Price sticker on the front cover.  Pages are actually in good condition, but are starting to pull away from spine.
Final Fantasy XIII - Bought new.  Mint condition.  Pages are in perfect shape.
Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone - Bought used.  Good condition.  Slight wear to front cover.  Price sticker on back cover, barcode sticker on lower spine.  Pages are in great shape.
Kingdom Hearts - Bought new.  Good condition.  Slight wear to front and back covers.  Pages are in great shape.
Kingdom Hearts II - Bought new.  Good condition.  Slight wear to front and back covers.  Pages are in great shape.
Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria - Bought new.  Slight wear to front and back covers.  Pages are in great shape.

GameStop is running a Buy 2 Get 1 Sale on all their pre-owned Wii (excludes Wii U) and DS (excludes 3DS) games.  Sale runs from March 25th to April 7th.  I would assume the sale is also valid online, as they're also running a deal where online orders over $25 include free shipping.

There are quite a few games and DLC for sale on XBL for their "Spring Sale".  Lots of random stuff.  Sale panel is up on the home page of the dashboard. 

Just got the Dawnguard and Dragonborn DLC for Skyrim, both for 800 MS Points ($10.00) each.  Hearthfire is also on sale for 200 Points ($2.50).

General / Loose GBA carts

Just wanted to glean some information from you guys about what you tend to do with your loose Gameboy and GBA carts.  All of my Gameboy and Gameboy Colour carts are in individual plastic snap cases, which makes it easy for them to be protected and easily organized into a plastic container.  However, my Gameboy Advance carts are just loose and floating around inside a plastic container.  Is there any other way to properly store/organize GBA carts?

I wonder how useful it might be to make the wish list more like the collection list, in that you can add notes or select how complete an item needs to be.  For instance, if someone is looking only for a box or manual for a particular game, they can select only box or manual.  Notes would be helpful to list a particular release or condition that's needed.

Just a thought.

I apologize if this has been asked before, but are there any plans to add to/elaborate with genres when adding an item?  For instance, first person shooter exists, but third person does not.  It would be also be nice to have the option to label something as simply "shooter".  Or what about JRPG?  Are there plans to have more specific genre options in the future?

Marketplace / 3 SNES manuals - FREE

Posted this in the "Pay It Forward" thread, but wanted to repost here in the Marketplace area, just in case it was overlooked.


I have three manuals in good condition if anyone is interested in them.  I had sold/given these particular games away, but couldn't find the manuals at the time.  I found them the other day, and now they need homes.  I can send all three together or split them up to whomever wants them.  All three are for SNES and are in black and white:

Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure
Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures
MTV's Beavis and Butthead


I know they're common games, but perhaps someone is looking to complete a collection item.  Give me a shout if you're interested.
