General / Collecting game related cards

Anyone here ever tried to collect the Kid Icarus uprising AR cards or the animal crossing amino ones? Feeling interested but these were so limited with their release and I don't remember ever seeing them on my local store shelves. Its a shame theyre so expensive to buy online. I heard the kid Icarus cards were very common in Japan and Europe. Recently it feels like nintendo too often releases stuff and then brushes them under the carpet too quick for people to notice.

Hardware and Tech / Need help with fixing OG Xbox

Found my brother's old Xbox under some things in his closet. I decided to open it up and fix it. While trying to boot it up, I keep getting an error code [7]. Looking this up online, it seems to be fixable by trying to firmly reconnect the ide ribbon cable on the board and the hdd. But for the life of me I still can't get it to work.
Is there a way to tell if either the cable or the hdd still work? Or am I just missing something? Also is the board being slightly mildewy very harmful to the console? Its kinda hard to clean it out from between all the parts. Thanks.

Oh and my bro also said something about the disc tray not opening when the eject button was pressed, which is why he dumped or in his closet in the first place. Thoughts?

When looking through Ebay or other websites and see something rare at a reasonable price, you jump on the opportunity and buy it. A gem added to your collection adds value and glamour to any assortment of items. Any gems you'd like to share and talk about proudly, or ae hoping to gather up?

Ever find anything of merit in an otherwise mediocre game that surprised you?


I've found that Sonic R's soundtrack is stellar despite the game being less than okay. Kind of feels shameful to have it tied to that game.

There's been a lot of re-releases and remasters these few years, so i want to ask you.

What are your opinions on ports, remasters, collection discs, and general redundant game releases?

I think it screws with the value of first releases and it feels lazy, but i do l o v e seeing games remade in hd.

What are your opinions on modded consoles and handhelds. Anything from exchanging/customizing outer shells, adding backlit screens on older handhelds, and homebrewing. Does it add new life to a boring old system, or does it disturb the purity of the system's originality and value?

Hi everyone, I'd like to know/see what kind of merchandise you collect alongside your game collections. I personally like to grab any soundtracks, posters, artwork booklets, replica weaponry, and promotional material if they're available. Just some stuff to add livelihood to my collection once I can get it displayed.
Any other things you feel are worth getting?

Site Feedback / Random and suggested database browsing addition

Any interest in having a 'random item' or 'suggested/recommended game' listing? It could be used for discovering new content, such as games, series, and merch, as well as possibly creating awareness and interest toward some more obscure things like spinoff titles and series related collectibles the user might not have known about.
Could be added to the 'Browse' tab, or maybe even it's own tab.

Thoughts and additions on this?
