Video Game Database Discussion / Collector's Box with PS4+PC copies
« on: March 08, 2019, 06:22:46 pm »
So I just got the Collector's Box for Sundered for pledging in its Kickstarter campaign. When the campaign was ongoing, the box was stated to have a PC copy of the game. But when the game devs started working with Limited Run Games to make physical PS4 copies, a PS4 copy was added to the box and is now the most prominent piece in it (the PC copy doesn't even get its own case, it's in the same case as the soundtrack). So does this go in the PC category as that was what it was sold as, or does it go in the PS4 category for it being the "main" item?

Video Game Database Discussion / What do I title this game

So there's a Canadian copy of https://vgcollect.com/item/152494 (found here https://www.ebay.com/itm/Americas-Greatest-Game-Shows-Wheel-of-Fortune-Jeopardy-Switch-NEW-/163338333524?hash=item2607b92d54) that has the "America's Greatest Game Shows" title in both English and French on the cover and spine. So do I name an entry for this the same as the one we have with the [CA] indicator or put both the English and French in the title?

Video Game Database Discussion / Multi-language box text

For packaging that has multiple languages on it, do we put all of them in the box text field or just the "primary" language? It's becoming common for US releases to have English and Spanish or French on the same box.

Video Game Database Discussion / Item Numbers
« on: November 13, 2018, 08:01:42 pm »
The style guide doesn't really clarify what an item number is, saying they're "found on the packaging or on the Cart/Disc themselves". Problem is, there are several strings on packaging, so entries vary wildly in what they list. Several games have the number string commonly found at the bottom of the case's spine, some have the alphanumeric strings found next to the barcode, while others use the string found on the disc/cart itself. Could the guide be updated with more examples to clarify what code is wanted?
