Off Topic / Favorite Music of 2019

Since we had Favorite Music of 2018 thread, decided to start one for 2019! Looking back what were some of your favorite music of last year?

Korn - The Nothing : A strong emotional album that delivers thanks to producer Nick Raskulinecz.


Slipknot - We Are Not Your Kind : Surprising return to form bringing back the dark, eerie side of the band.


Cold - The Things We Can't Stop : The most mature sounding Cold album that really grew on me.


Hyde - Anti : Solid rock album with spectacular ballads, and an incredible cover of Duran Duran's Ordinary World.


I was disappointed with a few albums one being Hed PE - Stampede album since an abundance of autotune was used. Another album being Flaw - Vol IV Because of the Brave since a few tracks were exposed of plagiarism, others were bought from other musicians online and were not created by the band.

Looking forward to upcoming releases in 2020 from: Gemini Syndrome (3rd album to end the trilogy) Julien-K, Ventana, Static-X (posthumous album) Jeffrey Nothing (Doom Candy project) Mushroomhead, Adema, Dry Kill Logic, Methods of Mayhem, Onesidezero, Love & Death, Ded. Holding out hope for Deadsy, Limp Bizkit (Stampede of the Disco Elephants).

I am selling my NEC PC engine Interface Unit (IFU-30) + PC Engine (red logo) + CD-ROM2 system. The PC Engine displays composite video as will the IFU-30 briefcase unit.

The CD-ROM2 has a brand new gear to ensure the laser is able to move properly when reading game and/or audio discs. System has been tested and confirmed working top-to-bottom 100%.

Classic Video Games / Your Favorite Sega Video Game Product

Inspired by oldgamerz thread

I like both my Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast. I was fortunate enough to buy both at launch, it was rough owning a North American Saturn during its early days constantly defending the system reputation, it wasn't until late 1998 I realized how many excellent exclusive imports never made it out of Japan.

Sega Dreamcast was a day-1 purchase for me, first time pre-ordering a system back in 9/9/99. After playing many Sega games at the local arcade venue knowing they will be on Dreamcast, I knew I had to have it.

Looking back I enjoyed these two systems the most, since early on I owned a NES, GB, and SNES and completely missed out on Master System, Sega Genesis, Sega-CD, Sega-32X, and Game Gear. Although the past few years I've been catching up on what I've missed out on, especially on Mega Drive.

Tell me what your favorite Sega hardware / product is.

General / The Retro Gamer Oath

I was thinking about how the video games we grew up playing have become astronomical in prices these days, and for some systems near impossible to purchase and play on actual hardware. I see it as primarily due to the influx of collectors, promotion (though social media) scarcity and demand.

For retro game players who wish to play games without raising the price any higher, we should encourage anyone thinking about, new to, or about to collect for classic systems to seek alternative methods to preserve, perhaps lower, the overall value of games.

If we universally recommend first-time new collectors to pursue alternative routes, for example digital download instead. Or direct them to invest in buying compilations, or official re-releases of systems with games build-in (like 2600, or NES) instead.

What are your thoughts?
