Please let me know if anyone has one available or knows where I can currently acquire one.  Just to clarify, I'm not looking for Action Replay.  The goal is to play language patched games on original hardware.  Thanks!

Modern Video Games / Unsung Story!
« on: January 16, 2014, 12:04:51 am »
So I'm really excited about a new game in development, it just went up on Kickstarter and I thought I'd share.  Yasumi Matsuno left SquareEnix a while back and he's working on a new game with Playdek.  As a HUGE fan of Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics I cannot wait for this release!  I've been wishing for a sequel to both of these games and after hearing the news of Matsuno leaving SE I thought a successor was doomed.  I loves me some SRPG!  The last game I was this excited for was Ni No Kuni :D

Start watching any video on www.youtube.com and pause the video (not during commercial).  Then click outside the video window and type "1980".

Enjoy the awesomeness!

Modern Video Games / FF XIV A Realm Reborn
« on: August 19, 2013, 08:14:04 pm »
Anyone else been playing?  Open beta just ended, next weekend is early access.  I managed to get Gladiator and Conjurer to level 20 by Saturday night, started Pugilist and then the 3102 bug got me.  Couldn't log in the last couple days.  The game was playing great up until that point, no disconnects/latency issues.  They added some new quests since last beta and leveling was much smoother to 20... I never felt like I had to look for content.

Took a screenshot after getting some cool low level robes for my Conjurer class:

Modern Video Games / Disgaea D2

I'm probably late to the party but I just found out a true sequel is coming out for the original Disgaea.  As a huge strategy rpg fan this is a must have for me.  I felt the original just had so much character and plenty of LoL moments.  When I get home I need to get the limited edition ordered!

Modern Video Games / Bioshock Infinite
« on: April 24, 2013, 05:18:06 pm »
So, it's time for another shooter.  I only play one every couple years, but I do really enjoy them.  I just can't stand when franchises release a new version yearly with new maps and want $60.  Back on point, I've decided I want to play Bioshock Infinite(on PC). What are your thoughts on the game and should I play the first two first?

That's really all I have, I'm sad I might have to buy a 3ds now.  Sounds like the producer for Lords of Shadow is involved.

Modern Video Games / Ni no Kuni for PS3
« on: April 11, 2012, 06:53:25 pm »
Anyone aware this game is currently being translated and coming out here early next year?  The videos look pretty interesting, they have a Hayao Miyazaki feel to them.  I'm not much of an anime fan but I love Princess Mononoke and some of his other movies.  If you know more please share!

Classic Video Games / Just finished my custom Retro Entertainment Center!
« on: September 15, 2011, 01:02:19 pm »
I pickup up a 36" CRT Sony television awhile back and have been hunting for an entertainment center for it.  My problems were that it weights around 220lbs and most entertainment centers are not large/strong enough for this television.  The ones I did find won't hold all my retro consoles so I decided to build one :D  I started with using Google Sketchup, an amazing and free 3d drawing program.  I knew I wanted a drawer for each shelf so I could easily store the accessories for each console in an organized way, and that it needed to be plenty strong to hold the TV.  After coming up with the design in Sketchup I headed off to Home Depot to do some pricing.  I was able to get 2 4'-8' sheets of cabinet grade ply-wood for about $70.  Brought it over to a friends house with a table saw and got started.

Once the frame was put together I pulled out some stain that I had used on another project but it didn't look right.  Headed back to Home Depot and picked up some nice paint that would still let the wood grain show through.

After that it was time to work on the shelves and drawers, easily the most difficult part of this project. After another trip to the hardware store and my friend's place to cut the wood I started to assemble everything.  I am no woodworker and this took me quite a few hours to get the gaps correct and level.  But persistence paid off in the end.

A little more paint...

I still have to put some trim on it and get glass doors cut for the bottom.  But, I've been gaming on it too much to finish it lol.
