Classic Video Games / Neo Geo AES
« on: October 18, 2015, 03:47:17 pm »
Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone here is a collector of some Neo Geo systems/games. I recently picked up the Pocket Color and was looking into the AES. The only information I've found is that it's stupid expensive and that the MVS is better. I'm not really fan of the arcade setup so that's not really an option for me.

If anyone has some experience with buying systems and games and where to start it would be awesome.

Fire Emblem: Awakening  - A must play.
Bravely Default - A great JRPG with amazing music.
Harvest Moon: A New Beginning - I'm a huge Harvest Moon fan and this is probably the best addition to the series recently.
Pokemon: Y/X - One of the best Pokemon games to date.

Modern Video Games / Crowd Funding Games
« on: October 15, 2015, 09:18:53 pm »
How does everyone feel about companies raising money to actually make the game? I don't have any experience with the crowd funding scene but I just saw Indivisible and I'm thinking about supporting. It looks good but seems like a lofty goal to get all of that money. I do like that different amounts of money get different things.

More or less I just want to know if you guys have had good experience with funding games.

Kind of how most people hated Windwaker for it's "graphics". Meanwhile it was one of the most beautiful Zelda games.

Was?

Okay, you got me. Still is. Especially with the HD Port.

The art of a game is really what drives it for me. I love having any collector's edition that has an art book. Just seeing how the creators want their character is interesting. It just provides a different insight that you wouldn't get anywhere.

The problem is a lot of people take good graphics for good art direction. So a lot of people just don't care anymore. Kind of how most people hated Windwaker for it's "graphics". Meanwhile it was one of the most beautiful Zelda games.

I would be all over that Famicom if the shipping was $50. Oh well.

Final Fantasy VII is most likely my top. I play it almost annually just because I love it.
Chrono Trigger is also up there because my friend and I play on Christmas every year.

Advance Wars as a series is definitely up there.
Fire Emblem as well.

Hey guys, figured I would do one of these things finally. Just got into this forum thing.

I'm Mike. I'm 23 from New York City. I'm in the Navy right now in Connecticut. I started playing with my brother's copy of the original Zelda. Eventually I got a Gameboy and got hooked in by Pokemon Red/Blue. Since then I loved almost all handhelds. I have a hectic collection of whatever I feel like getting at the time. I mostly stay in the Sony or handheld areas for now. I look forward to getting to know some more of you guys around here. Cheers!
