I still find it funny to this day when them rabid neofeminuggets complained about no [strong] female "representation" in video games (and other media), yet that's what we've had since forever.

This is a pretty dumb take lol... really reeks of someone who has no female friends and probably has had very little or no success dating the ladies.
It isn't dumb when it is true, though. Also, the last part of your comment is unfounded and uncalled-for tbh.

Anyway, I have a love/hate relationship with Tomb Raider. I love the different settings and premise of a globe-trotting, treasure hunting adventure akin to old films like Indiana Jones, buuuuuut, I hate nearly everything else about them - at least the original four. The graphics are decent and Lara is a badass, but the platforming and gun play is too finicky imo.

I wasn't a big fan of 2013 and Rise because of how they tended to focus on action, but I did find Shadow to be an improvement simply because there was less action and more exploration.

Then RE5 happened. I’m not sure I can put into words how much I hated it. I played it once for maybe 20 minutes and never played it again. It was a co-op action shooter with the RE name slapped on it
Oh boy, here I go...

...INHALES

RE4 was the same, but without the co-op...

EXHALES...

That doesn't mean I dislike RE4. On the contrary, I love that game.

I sold and rebought Timesplitters, The Outfit and Dead Space 3 because Timesplitters was 'platinum', and The Outfit and Dead Space 3 were 'classics'. I have this weird obssession with having the original boxed copies; no rereleases lol.

General / Re: "What were they thinking?!" (Spoilers for God of War)

[...] I recently started playing through the God of War series again, and I decided to play them in order on Hard mode. Playing the 1st game, I got to the 2nd part of the end where you have to "save" Kratos' family and fight through a horde of enemies, and after about the 10th try, it began to really frustrate me and I got to wondering if the developers had tested it and I questioned what they were thinking with this section.

That section of the game really isn't that hard, even on God Mode. This video shows the best strategy to use - make sure Poseidon's Rage and Army of Hades are maxed and avoid grappling the clones, as well as using the Blade of Artemis. Trust me, that part is a walk in the park compared to what comes after. God of War II on Titan Mode...now that's a challenge.
Yeah, after finishing it and thinking about it, it really isn't that difficult given what needs to be done. I think my problem was that my mana was relatively low from spamming 'Army of Hades' during the Ares fight lol.

I don't think I have the skill to take on the hardest difficulties on any of the games in the series  :-\

Hey, I have a question...

First though, I recently started playing through the God of War series again, and I decided to play them in order on Hard mode. Playing the 1st game, I got to the 2nd part of the end where you have to "save" Kratos' family and fight through a horde of enemies, and after about the 10th try, I became increasingly frustrated, and I got to wondering if the developers had tested it and I questioned what they were thinking with this section.

Now my question is: have you ever played a section in a game that made you question the developers decision and ask, "what were they thinking?!"

Resident Evil - One of my favourite survival horror series, although not my favourite series in terms of horror. I'm also talking about the originals; pre Re4. Everything from the exploration of the levels which are connected and feel real, the atmosphere, the b-movie like plot lines with crazy monsters and zombies, and the survival aspect of gameplay which requires the player to pay attention to supplies.

Silent Hill - Without a doubt my favourite horror series, at least in regard to 1 - 3. It frequently uses my favourite type of horror; psychological, instead of just relying on jump scares and gore. Exploring the town of Silent Hill, with that immense feeling of claustrophobia and the anxiety of what's waiting in the fog, creating fantastic tension and atmosphere. The interesting plot lines, like 1 and 3's cult mystery (I have a fascination with cults, like why they do what they do lol) so this really drew me in, as well as 2's beautiful story of self-redemption. Also, the music, HOLY CRAP the music is so good, I could listen to 'Theme of Laura' and 'Promise' until the end of time.

"Us American gamers"

You just assume everyone on this site is American?

Cyberpunk 2077 Collectors Edition.

I'll die with a scowl because of it.
Imagine how those people who bought the console must be feeling :D

Does Sonic All-Stars Racing: Transformed count? Like they aren't technically "Karts", but for all intent and purposes, it plays exactly like Mario Kart or Diddy Kong Racing would.  Either way, it's an amazing racing game.  I was really bummed they dumped the series for the Team Sonic Racing game.
I say it counts, as it follows the formula for a "kart racer" to the letter.

First time playing Link's Awakening. Never got the chance to play the GB version. So far I'm liking it, despite the fps issues and blur at the top and bottom of the screen.

Finished Onimusha: Warlords for the first time and have moved on to the second. Thought Warlords was an overall enjoyable game with only a few issues.

Vibration is the first thing I look for to turn off in the settings, I hate it that much. I really don't see the point, all it does is annoy me.
