Besides the ridiculous deals recently acquired through Bundle Stars over the last two weeks, bought a mint condition copy of SOCOM US Navy SEALS: Combined Assault w/8MB memory card included at a flee market for 50 cents.

General / Re: Other Video Game DB and Collection Management Sites

Think I will use this as an opportunity to inform some old friends I am still alive and breathing. Due to the reality my collection is so massive and varied, I have been left with utilizing multiple internet databases after giving up on IGN ever fixing the flash glitch linked to the most crucial component for building your database on their site, the "Follow" button.

I noticed nobody has mentioned the newcomer online known as Completionator. I managed to even look up and find the obscure expansion for a Star Trek game titled Chekov's Lost Missions. Check them out www.completionator.com

Site Feedback / Re: iOS and Android are relevant.

I have heard about game cancellations being a big problem on Android. Glad I have not run into this yet and have Sisimizi for my hard copy collection backup. I can at least get everything listed there still *chuckles* Thanks for all the input so far guys. Good to see you are still on board Fox. You were a very welcome and helpful hand back when I was getting my collection loaded onto this site.

Site Feedback / iOS and Android are relevant.
« on: September 28, 2014, 03:26:55 pm »
I have done so much searching through this entire forum and found nothing referencing iOS and Android. Maybe in the midst of the search, I actually missed the singular thread that may have discussed this. It wasn't all that relevant to me in the past, but as some may have noticed lately, I have not been purchasing a lot of games lately. I am basically a broke ass gamer now. So I began searching online for what was available for free. Compared to 6 years ago, A LOT. Not anything weak either. Here is a small list of free games I have found so far and enjoyed.

Walking Dead Season 1 [ Android
Walking Dead Season 2 [ Android
Xion Episode 1 [ Android ] For those that enjoyed Myst.

For those that enjoy maze puzzle games:
Aerox [ iOS

If you liked Ballance http://www.allgame.com/game.php?id=52453
Try these out:
Balance 3D [ Android
Ball travel 3D [ Android
Ball Travel Zero [ Android

LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles [ Android
LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles 2 [ Android

Marathon [ iOS
Marathon: Durandal [ iOS
Marathon: Infinity [ iOS

Want to enjoy those classic FPS titles? One particular studio Went above and beyond to bring you that fun and added integrated corded game controller interface as well. The studio is Beloko games. The only snag is the core .wad file needs to be added from an existing game. Those can easily be chased down via Id own forum app called Doom idgames App. If you don't mind paying a little, The complete Doom 3 can be had on iOS exclusively.

Perhaps this is in the wrong forum section... perhaps not. i just feel a strong case has to be made, because... well... I would like the option of being able to archive these additions along with my other titles. If your looking for sheer numbers to justify the relevancy of these two platforms, then take a look at these lists and see for yourself:

iOS https://itunes.apple.com/us/genre/ios-games/id6014?mt=8&letter=W
Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/category/GAME

Its not a myth and don't believe the gossip. iOS and Android are seriously competitive portable gaming platforms. They are relevant and should finally get their own category on here under those exact two names. It is time to take notice of them as successful game platforms. Even a specialized game console was created to enjoy these games the same way gamers enjoy any other console game: OUYA.

Classic Video Games / Re: The most obscure video games?

Project Gordon made me think of another obscure game that had a limited release exclusively as a limited bundle pack with SoundBlaster sound cards. Twinsen's Odyssey, also known as Little Big Adventure 2 in Europe.

Welcome to the Future on PC and Mac. Came out same time and was about the same game as Myst, but didn't get all the glory.

I liked Tron 2.0 for the GBA, I'm not sure if that was actually a movie though.  It could have easily been based on any Tron movie.  Batman Returns on the SNES, Alien 3 for the SNES & some other systems were pretty cool.  The worst?  Total Recall?

Tron 2.0 occupies the same slot as Stranglehold. The stories were true sequels to the the movie storyline and were good games. I have both Xbox and GBA versions of Tron 2.0 myself.

I have a question relevant to thread. Is it OK to show both regular and diagrammed photos of Game Room?

Do it however you feel like.  If it needs a diagram, I want a diagram.

Oh it will have one. There is simply too much stuff in the media area, to leave people guessing as to what it is. Its all be condensed to sleeves and the three shelf sections go from floor to ceiling.

Mind blowing, but then maybe story line sequels don't count. Stranglehold for Xbox360 and yes its story is indeed a sequel to the story of the movie Hardboiled.

Watched Into the Storm. Not as good as Twister, but did get to see that 300 MPH wind monster storm shred the airport to pieces.

Took advantage of current flash sale on PSN and grabbed these indie titles.

The Cave
Dyad
Machinarium
Malicious
Papo and Yo
Velocity Ultra

If we're excluding sports and music games, I'd say it's probably the 360 with 9 COD games.  Every Call of Duty game other than the original has been released on the 360.

COD 2
COD 3
COD Modern Warfare
COD Modern Warfare 2
COD Modern Warfare 3
COD World at War
COD Black Ops
COD Black Ops 2
COD Ghosts

And while not direct sequels, I think I counted 15 Tom Clancy games that came out on the original Xbox.

Second that. Sports games aside, Tom Clancy is the holder of top spot.

General / Re: What do you define as shovel-ware on a console?
« on: May 15, 2014, 05:35:34 pm »
That seems like a pretty good definition of shovel-ware really.  Movie Tie-Ins definitely seem to be the biggest issues with this.  Battleship, Expendables, that Amazing Spiderman 2 game more recently, games that very obviously didn't look like they had a lot of real effort put into them and were most likely rushed to market.

Yet some Movie Tie-In titles, actually turned out to be more enjoyable than the movie. Reign of Fire for example.

Your post brings up something Ive always noticed but cant fully comprehend (maybe its cause of the way I view things). How on earth can someone play more than one game at a time? Once I start a game and get somewhat into it, its the only thing I can think about. Adding another to the mix is just unthinkable. It would screw up my daydreaming and my focus to finish.

I have played as much as 6 titles at one time LOL
