Modern Video Games / Animal Crossing switch
« on: April 14, 2020, 04:22:54 pm »
Hello,
I got a coworker that downloaded this for his son. His daughter wants to play it too, but it only has one save file/world etc.
Is there a way around this, so both kids have their own game?

Big
Gataca
Hot Tub Time Machine
Jerry McGuire
The Matrix
The Princess Bride
Stardust
Terminator 2

Bonus
1408

If a game is bad, I’ll stop playing it.
The only one that comes to mind that I enjoyed playing, but wanted it to end, is Resistance: Fall of Man.
When you get toward the end, it seems like they just kept adding a level of the same crap for the hell of it. No additional story, no real goals, just keep pushing on. You think you’re finished and it keeps dragging and dragging. It’s been awhile, but I’m thinking the last 4-5 sections of the game could of been removed.

NES 72 pin connector replaced
Jaguar pin connector adjustment
PS1 flipped upside down to boot, then drive went out
PS2 launch 2 systems disc read errors (took apart and cleaned out dust)
PS3 YLOD (fixed under factory warranty)
Xbox 360 launch RROD (took apart replaced thermal paste)
Xbox 360 elite RROD (took apart replaced thermal paste)

I downloaded FFVII and Agent A on Xbox One.
Been playing those along with Gems of War. My work didn’t get shut down, so same amount of free time so far.

I’ve never been, but the advice I’ve heard a lot is to try them out. Keep trying different ones until you find the one that works for you.
There are both secular and religious groups and therapists out there. Pick the one that fits your needs, that puts your well being first.

Off Topic / Re: Is it just me, or do 98% of new movies suck?
« on: March 05, 2020, 02:37:33 pm »
98% of most media sucks, we just forget most of it as time goes on. It makes it far easier to dismiss the stuff directly in front of us as worse than the past becuase all the bland, uninteresting, or simply less than memorable titles fade away.

I poked around real quick, & I grabbed this list of  American movies of 2010. I'm curious- how many do you remember? How many were good? How many could you name without having this list in front of you? It's worth noting, this isn't a complete list either- so there's more movies from 10 years ago so forgotten they never made the Wikipedia list.

I went down that partial list. I own over 50 of em. You’re correct, I prob couldn’t tell you what a lot of them are about or who even starred in it, without seeing the cover art. There were some greats in there though, IMO anyway. Everybody has their own view on what they enjoy.

I bought a bootleg game from a swap meet that looked authentic. It only worked in modded systems. Got stuck with that one.

I tend to get stuck with many Dvd’s And Blu-ray’s not working. I’m still upgrading my collection when I find them for cheap. They’re movies I’ve seen before, so I’m usually not in a rush to open them. When I finally get around to watching, the refund date has past.

Make every game released look like an 8bit Nintendo game.
I think this one was way over used. Some of them were actually done very well, but the majority I passed on after viewing the trailer.

Looks legit to me. Y fold on top and bottom, seam along side, hard crinkly shrink wrap. The later release PS2 games didn’t have the sticker seal at the top. Depending where it sold retail, it may or may not have a hang tab.

Either way, $3 is cheap as hell.

Still haven’t taken my switch outta the box.
Still got my Wii U in the box too.
It’s just personal preference. Been using my Xbox mainly for the free games on gold lately and PS4 isn’t even hooked up.
Maybe gaming is a little stale to me right now.

Why are you buying consoles that you don't actually use?  That's what, 600 dollars in consoles sitting there untouched unless you got them ridiculously cheap to justify simply having them.  I don't want that to sound like I'm calling you out or anything for it, I'm just curious as to why you would even buy one if you aren't going to play it lol

Xbox does have its use if you are someone who doesn't play a lot or care about the big hitters.  I'd actually recommend an Xbox to someone like that with Game Pass over Sony or Nintendo, because for a pretty cheap price, you get access to a pretty significant amount of games, something like 400 games from what I heard (It's only about 100 or so on PC right now I think).

Not sure why actually. LOL. Probably just the hope of one day actually playing it. Just part of the collection at this point. I buy the AAA games as well, but I don’t get far beyond the install.

Been playing Gems of War for the past few years. Easy to get in to. Matches only last a few minutes.

I just hope nobody tries to bring back “gaytarded”. It’s probably been over 10 years since I heard that one used. But like others here, I don’t hang out with kids either. Hard to say what’s being said these days.

I focus on the current gen because most of the stuff is easily attainable and in perfect condition.
