I got an email from LRG yesterday announcing their variant cover edition of Special Reserve Games' release of Enter the Gungeon going on sale. I somehow got removed from SRG's mailing list - I'm guessing during the Ruiner kerfuffle - so I didn't know they had put this one out. Promptly went to their site & bought EtG from them. ;)

RDR2 is a technical masterpiece that bores me to tears.

It sure as hell hasn't ruined me on open-world games at all. I still say Skyrim and Breath of the Wild are better open worlds. They may not be quite as detailed, but at least they're fun to be in.

So much this. I couldn't possibly agree more.

I've heard some people complaining a lot but it doesn't bother me at all. I buy LRG because I like physical things. Could care less about the "limited" nature of it all.

I agree, but the backlash had to be expected when they have built their entire business model on the limited nature of these games. It's why they can release absolute trash and it still sells out.

So, like, is Cosmic Star Heroine still a thing?

Just got shipping notification of my CSH / Antiquia Lost bundle. I mean, I only ordered them in *MAY*.

Good, with the delay of the "big unknown", and with me having already put down my order for the Play-Asia PS4 game of the month, I think I'm clear for a few weeks. Think I'm gonna invest some money in some upcoming Asian-English releases I want during the lull - the 2 Psikyo shmup collections for the Switch, the Capcom beat-em-up collection also for the Switch, and the Asterix & Obelix remake for the PS4.

So I've been really looking forward to this game, and it's been getting great reviews so far. I had the Gamestop-exclusive "collector's edition" preordered and went over on my lunch break today to pick it up. Except the reason for the quotes there is...it's NOT a real collector's edition. They ring up the Steelbook version of the game, then they ring up the statue and the system bundles them together. Truth be told, I was afraid this might be the case when, after getting close to release, I still couldn't find any pictures of the Gamestop set AND the contents listed were missing other basic things from the real CE. But I was still pretty disappointed. Just canceled it and downgraded to the regular edition.

On the bright side, used the credit I saved to pay off Salt & Sanctuary and Darksiders III, so that's something.

Just thought I'd give everyone else a heads up on what to expect with this set.  And of course we can discuss the game in general here as well once ppl start playing it. :)

Potential October schedule as hinted by Doug

October 5th
   Layers of Fear (PS4/NS)

October 12th
   Broken Age (NS)
   Dragon's Lair Trilogy (PS4)
   Something 8-bit (PS4)

October 19th
   Huge PS4 game
   Defenders Quest (PS4/PS Vita)
   Mages of Mystralia (PS4)

October 26th
   Outlast (NS)

November 2nd
   Rabi-Ribi (PS4/PS Vita)

Hope this is accurate because nothing there interests me (with the possible exception of the 2 unknowns, of course). October is a packed month as it is.

I'm anxious for Play-Asia to announce their games for this month.

Well, this post kinda saddens me, but I've come to the conclusion that I'm just not going to be able to keep up with this thread anymore. Some things in my RL have changed and I just don't have the time anymore to devote to it. For most of this year I've felt like I've been struggling to keep up with it, and I think this latest break between my times to update combined with the TGS flood of new info is the final nail in the coffin.

If anyone wants to take over duties here, you have my blessing.  It was fun, and I hope helpful to at least someone. And I'll still be around to chat from time to time. :)

Oh no, I hope everything's ok with you IRL, argyle! It's amazing what you've done in this thread, and it's so appreciated! I'll miss your regular updates :'(

No, it's nothing bad, it's just that I don't have as much free time as I did when I first started this. :)

SotN is probably my all-time favorite game, I replay it pretty much yearly. So I'll gladly take a new system for my next playthrough. I'm with everyone else in hoping that it's physical, but I'm not gonna lie, I'll get it regardless.

Updated!

It all fit this time, so we'll see how it goes for now...

Flinthook - Generic platformer

I couldn't disagree more. I popped this one in on a whim weekend before last and was instantly hooked. It's a rogue-like platformer with RPG elements and a touch of Bionic Commando, and it's extremely well done. In the same class as Rogue Legacy IMO. *HIGHLY* recommended!

I laughed at the "hooked" comment. So did I judge this game too quickly? I dont mind trying again. I need something between now and DQXI. Detroit wasnt nearly as long as I expected.

Was completely unintentional. ;)  But yeah, especially if you enjoyed Rogue Legacy I'd say give it another go.
