I think people on the internet love to complain about every little thing. It's the popular trend these days, so people just follow like sheep and jump on the band wagon. Why can't they just enjoy the new trilogy for what it is, and stop nit picking about the size of rain drops?!... Damn. Nothing is perfect, get over it.  I think it looks fantastic. Ok there's my 2 cents :D

I think it's a great idea! It would give more incentive and curiosity for people to look up games pages. Also, maybe on the main page, there is a part which shows Latest Threads and Latest Items - Maybe below that we could have Latest Reviews?

Now that's a great idea as well! If we added a "Latest Reviews" section on the front page, I really believe this would bring a lot more traffic to the site.

Would love to hear the mods thoughts on this new idea. I think we have a hit on our hands here folks  ;)

Let's make VGC the best damn collector site for 2021!

Hey Gang,

Just had a great idea for the site. I thought it would be awesome if we were all able to submit reviews for any item in the database. Obviously you could review games, however this would be extremely beneficial for lesser known swag type items, like statues, strategy guides, carrying cases, etc.  This would allow for users to go really in-depth about a particular item, giving first hand information that may not be available anywhere else on the net.

If we placed another tab at the top of each entry, right in between "Info" & "History", I think this would look excellent.

Anyhow, just an idea I wanted pass on to the team.  Keep up the great work!

Site Feedback / View collection by alphabet drop down

Hey VGC Team,

I have a feature request I've wanted to ask about for a long time. Having a pretty sizable collection can make browsing for a specific title within my collection quite a chore at times. If we were able to implement a small drop down window with the letter of the alphabet, allowing you to view your collection by the letter, this would make things 10x faster. Here's a perfect example.

I have over 500 DS games. When searching though my DS collection the way it is now, you can only browse by page 1, 2, 3, 25, 26, etc. Now this is fine when looking for a game that starts with A-D or W-Z, but when trying to find a game that say lands somewhere in the middle of the alphabet (J-S) I have to constantly click through multiple pages (5, 7, 9, 11, etc) until i finally find the right page.  This takes an incredible amount of time, that could all be solved with a simple little alphabet drop down box.

Using my own collection, I drew up a quick example of what this might look like.

Hopefully this is something that isn't too complicated. I would love to see this feature, and I think a lot of other users would appreciate it as well.  :)

Ya know, after some heavy consideration, having an option for loose consoles would be a nice addition.

It really all depends on which system were talking about. Tracking your loose PS2 systems are easy to identify, because they all have specific hardware model's for which we can track them by.

However, as Trip was saying, the earlier systems such as SNES and Genesis don't have specific model #'s between the many internal hardware revisions. So looking at the list of options now, If you were to add a loose SNES console to your collection, you really have no way of knowing whether that SNES console came from a "Control Deck" box, or a "Donkey Kong Country" Box set. Your just kind of taking a shot in the dark.

So yes, I concur :)

A good idea, but part of me thinks it will just add confusion. Sometimes less is more.

Hey X211,

Thank you for creating this awesome data tool, and thank you for taking the time to share with us how to use it.  The VGC Team should hire you! :)

I'll just throw out my opinion, right or wrong, and say I think we should file them under Newest Console, then just add their backwards compatibility under the compatibility text within that entry.

Nice & simple  :)

If you hear sounds when you turn it on, it's fixable. I would bring it to a shop and see what they will charge you. Look up "Northridgefix" on youtube or check out his website. He does awesome work.

Your going to want look for something old school. Radio Shack made a ton of these back in the day, when those consoles were current.

Check out something like this:
