Oh, I thoroughly enjoy 3D World. In many respects, more than the others. It's just different.
3D World is more akin to a 3D version of the 2D games.

Super Mario 64 and Sunshine are full open world levels.

Galaxy is kind of a mix of the two, I don't know quite how to put it, it feels like a very unique experience to me.  The levels I don't believe are as large or open world as the 64 or Sunshine levels, it's like a solid middle ground between the 2.

What do you mean. Mario galaxy games don't see 2D in any way. The only difference is that there are more linear lvl's, mario sunshine and even mario 64 had linear lvl's.

Furthermore there plenty of lvl's wich are big and the perspective is definitly the same as the former 3D mario games.

There are linear lvl's but other than that the 3D perspective and feeling stays the same like the older games unlike some other 3D title mario 3D world.

Also if there is one thing aside from the exploring that the galaxy games are good at It's the bosses, by far way more interesting and fun boss battles than the former 3D mario games.

You can't compare the greatness that is called mario galaxy with a trash title as mario 3D world. I was actually looking forward to a new mario 3D title, 3D world sure was a dissapointment. Never expected nintendo to make the game an upgrade of the 3DS version, expected something way better for a console mario 3D game.

I have to say though that I do see why they made the title more 2D. combined the super mario galaxy series only sold 20 million world wide while new super mario bros sold almost 30 million copies.

New super mario bros is a pretty mediocre game in my opinion compared to the 3D mario games wich were always the thing I had to get  :'(
I'm sorry, I left my sworddude dictionary at home, so you lost me a few times.

I was saying Galaxy is a mix between the Sunshine and 3D world games.  It has the best of both styles.

It has the sorta open world and forced level replay of Sunshine and 64, but it also has that short and quick 3D world level stuff.  Some of the levels in Galaxy have that 2D Super Mario Bros inspired 3D set ups, just like 3D World.

I beg your pardon but I actually had my ctracy87 for dummies dictionary with me and understood clearly what you said about it being in the middle but I don't agree with it.

There are some very small parts in 2D other than that a 3D perspective.

Give me some examples of those so called mario world 3D setups since if your talking about linear lvl's even mario 64 and mario sunshine have some of those non open world linear lvl's. Doesn't make it the same as mario 3D world.

Mario galaxy is different than mario sunshine and mario 64 but I would not put it in the middle the differences are different from mario 3D world.
say what you want, but you are interpreting my statement incorrectly.

Howcome? you state that mario galaxy is in between the mario 3d world and older mario 3D games.

You say that the galaxy games have things of both series wich in my opinion is incorrect just saying.

Both systems have very little interest to me the games **** in my opinion. Not a big fan of realistic games wich is the trademark for both systems.

I barely even try collecting for these systems. Few titles such as journey peek my interest but overall pretty ****.

Overrated - Youtube

Underrated - Actually playing a game yourself instead of listening to some fucktards opinion on it or watching them play it.

Review shows like GameSack and Classic Game Room are very informative for collectors. I've discovered so many great games through them that I might never have known about otherwise.

I have way to many games that still need a playthrough and still allot of games coming in. I don't think I need a gaming channel to see wich games are excellent. I might come across some games eventually in lots and see if it is interesting.

Maybe for Japanese imports or homebrews but to be honest I don't have a high interest in those.

Classic Video Games / Re: Need Help with Printing PS1 Manuals

Just give up your dream and deal with it. Sell the game and get a complete one or just let it be.

Depending on the sort of quality you want my guess is that you will come out pretty expensive when printing manuals manually. Some games have quite some pages aside from that it will probably not look like the original. Printing it proffesionally unless done in great quantities will be expensive.

Not worth it maybe if you have an expensive game but the value will stay the same regardless. Your just wasting your money.

N64:    Main Yoshi
Melee: Main Marth                                Secondaries Fox, Falcon, yoshi and Ganon
Brawl: Main Marth                                Secondaries Yoshi, Ganon, Falcon, Mario
Smash U: Mains Yoshi and Cloud           Secondaries Falcon, Ganon, Marth, Roy, Little mac

RIP Marth in smash 4 since the only thing that has improved big time is his looks so sad -_-

I like using Marth in 4, I just can't play him like in the previous games. I miss his old self, but he's not so bad if you get into the mindset of him being a whole new character you have to learn.

Marth's my guy for the last three games, and in the case of 4 I also like to play Robin, Palutena, Bayonetta, and Cloud. In the case of Melee, I also like to play Jigglypuff and Ice Climbers. Never played N64 much except at a friend of my brother's house a few times, and Brawl isn't my choice of Smash.
(RIP the arc version of Marth's neutral B. It was awesome to use in Melee but it never returned.)

He's not bad I'm pretty good with him and he is still fun to play. By farr less fun than in past games but still nice.

There is a small improvement and that is his kill power. I've killed mid heavy characters such as link at % as low as 15% in for glory.

His neutral B is btw one of the few things that has been improved, shield breaking actually happens now. His neutral game is pretty bad though he gets outplayed by allot of higher ranked characters.

For me its tough to rank. They all have pretty different flavors.

You had 64 which is a decent game but it definitely starting to show its age. Sunshine was very story driven with numerous cut scenes with interaction between characters; even to a higher degree than more recent titles. Because of this it also had a grounded, consistent setting/theme. From Galaxy forward the games kind of went back to their roots, by ditching the consistent, believable environments, and just focusing on playful and imaginative level design.

While undoubtedly similar, I don't quite consider 3D World in the Mario 64 lineage. Originating from Super Mario 3D Land on 3DS, the camera had an isometric quality making the game almost feel 2.5D at times. Additionally the level design itself was very linear and not very open compared to 64 and Sunshine. Because of the constricted viewing angle and level design the game didn't really feel as open as previous three dimensional Mario games. Super Mario 3D World continued on with the 3D Land model. There are few other mechanics that separate the series too. One major difference is that in prior games it was all about collecting stars at the end of the level. 3D Land/World have done away with that, replacing it with special tokens that are hidden around the levels that can unlock different paths on the map screen or additional bonus levels. And that's another major difference: The return of the map screen! Other Mario games relied on hub stages that would link you to the level of your choice. There's other differences but I'd be here all day.

Yeah I don't really like to consider the 3D World a proper 3D one either in the vein of what came before.  It too much the 2D games in design with the only real difference being perspective.  I played and beat it, and Mario is never bad, but I wasn't really excited by it at all.  I'm hoping with the NX they actually try with Mario like they seem to be trying with Zelda.

Exactly mario 3D world is not worthy to be called a mario 3D title. I really hope they will improve since the mario 3D games were the only proper mario adventure games released these days. The newer 2D mario titles aren't what they used to be and will probably not improve anytime soon.

Also to be honest I did not mind the wii motion controls, this worked pretty well actually, all the advanced jumps had excellent button placements and the shaking for the spin attack ain't that bad.

They aren't the worst, but I just hate them no matter the use.  I can't think of a game I liked on the system where I enjoyed the motion controls.  Big reason why the Wii failed for me.

It's by far better than an N64 controller if I'm honest.

For smash bros wii motion controls suck so use cube controller but for games such as mario kart mario galaxy and even zelda the controls work pretty well

Especially the first two, for mario galaxy games the controls fit the theme pretty well. Also the control buttons wich are far between for a 3D game like mario galaxy It's excellent, I personally don't thing that a cube controller would do the mario galaxy games justice.

For zelda sure thanks to the bow and arrow sword is ok, the others games pretty nice though. Minigames like wario ware are also excellent with motion controls

Does Smash for Wii U let you set up your own online tournaments yet?

In a kind of way.

it's trash though it's not like the old tournament modes of the older games.

online play however is excellent unless someone has a bad internet connection.

And no there is no offline tournament mode yet, however I must say that for offline play it is not necesarry since it can be done manually pretty easily.
Are you talking pen and paper?  Because I like letting the system set up the matches, all you have to do is have the player pick up their controller and press start and you are good to go, plus no chance of folks swapping characters or forgetting to pick their name for control schemes and such.  Tournament mode was my go to mode in Melee and Brawl with friends.

Never said I did not like tournament mode. I loved it.

It's nice but not needed, they could have easily added it but only for casual play is it truly nice since the older modes have some disadvantages. For example you can't switch characters and it's pretty hard to start over when picking the wrong stage.

Tournament mode is fun but if you think about It's pretty pointless aside from watching CPU players who would win the tournament. I do see why they removed it, probably thanks to the competion scene and there difficult rule set, so many thing they had to alter for tournament mode.

It is a bit easier and no I was not talking about setting up matches with pen and paper since it could be done by heart. Unless you have more than 10 players that is.
My thing is, I've been waiting for tournament mode and all of the amiibos, so I can have all of the amiibos face off in a tournament.  Amiibos are on a completely different level compared to level 9 CPU.

Honestly, that and the hope that nintendo releases a toys to life game were the only reason I bought them all.

I already mentioned the CPU (amiibo's are CPU).

Also regarding amiibo and their skill lvl's they adapt way to slowly and are really easy to figure out in my opinion, the skill lvl is pretty low. For the average or beginner player it is hard though I do see why people find amiibo so ''OP'' because CPU players are way better and harder than in former smash games. Probably thanks to the tournament scene. Still though the difficulty is pretty laugable and especially on the ledge really easy to abuse even on amiibo since they do not adapt well during recovery. Only midstage are they decent fighters. Also depending if you use ranged attacks or not your amiibo will not adapt quickly enough between the two styles not that it is fast enough anyways.

Amiibo's aren't OP, for the above average smasher they actually are pretty bad. In the past games CPU's were just really plain bad, at least now CPU's have a decent skill lvl. Amiibo's are decent in skill but definitly not OP. The thing is that amiibo's use advanced techniques and nintendo put some decent skill in them to knock out all the beginner and even average players when reaching lvl 99 no matter how you train them.

Also one thing I forgot to mention, lvl 9 CPU's do not know how to combo, do not know wich moves kill aside from the smash attacks they are really easy. A lvl 9 CPU Zero suit samus for example will not use the up B to kill or combo with U airs that's the only reason why amiibo are better than lvl 9 CPU's.

Mario galaxy series, also allot of lvl's aren't small there are some big lvl's out there for exploring aside from linear lvl's

From what I remember of Galaxy, it pretended to be bigger by having you fly about alot between all the planetoids and such.  It has been awhile and I only ever played either of them for a short length, but my dislike for the design of the levels was just a part of why I was never fond of it.  They also dropped a lot of what I loved 64 and Sunshine in favor of the standard Mario world map layout and such.  I'm still saddened that the type of 3D platformer that I loved with 64 and Sunshine disappeared, which is probably why I'm so hyped for "A Hat in Time", which is a return to that classic world by world platforming collectathon that was so prominent in the late 90's/early 2000.

I have been meaning to try and go back to play them, to see how my views have changed, but I'm still reluctant cause of the controls.  Really hate the wiimote.

True with the flying part but there are some bigger lvl's out there one of my favourites is the Starshine Beach.

Also to be honest I did not mind the wii motion controls, this worked pretty well actually, all the advanced jumps had excellent button placements and the shaking for the spin attack ain't that bad.

Mario sunshine is awesome as well. I guess underrated since it is a pretty difficult mario 3D game (for 100%).

Mario 64

Mario 3d world is decent, it hated the fact that the lvl's are way more linear and small. it's almost a 2d new super mario title now. Went downhill after the mario galaxy series.

I hope they make a regular mario 3d game like mario 64, sunshine or something like mario galaxy since this is pretty bad. Not worth getting in my opinion. At least the former titles were worth it to spend full price on didn't even bother getting mario 3D world on release.
