Mine was stored in the box for years until i heard about this so i hooked mine back up and it still works fine.
Mabey im lucky cause it hasn't been turned on since a couple years after it's release.

Sorry to hear about you giving up your collection, I've never have my games crash unless the internet shuts off because someone accidentally unplugs the router but this rarely happens.

The Xbox 360 was the last console that made me excited about playing games. I still like to play but not as much as I used to, Other consoles that made me fall in love with gaming were the nes, snes, genesis, dreamcast, ps1, ps2 and original xbox. I think it's just because I have more responsibilities to take care of now and less time for playing. The newer consoles are great but don't leave me with the same excitement.

I am surprised by my answers cause almost none of these games are sought after or valuable with the exception of Brigandine or FF2,3 lol.

My most valuable item is probably my CiB EarthBound, but that's not nearly as rare as most would have you believe.

My rarest video game would probably be Super Copa for SNES, or my sealed Majesco White-Label Contra III.

My rarest video-game-related item is likely the vinyl in-store advertising banner I have for Jurassic Park on Sega Genesis/CD and Game Gear.

Yes! I wish I could find Super Copa definitely a rare Snes game.

I pretty sure my rarest video game system is FM Towns Marty cib and I have a cib  Splatterhouse for it. I have other games for it too that are probably rarer but Splatterhouse is the most recognizable.

I have a Dreamcast 3 ring binder that came from the Sega Corporate Offices. When Sega was planning the release of the Dreamecast the office personal used them in meetings. I got mine from a salesman after he left the company.

I also got a Sega Dreamcast kiosk from same salesman.

As far as so called rare / valuable games I guess Sega Saturn Panzer Dragoon Saga, Magic knight Rayearth, House of the Dead ect.. the Misadventures of Tron Bonne, Persona 1&2 for Ps1 Kuon, Rule of Rose, Haunting Ground for Ps2 A Sealed copy of BattleToads Nes. And many more but not really sure some of that stuff should count sure it's expensive but is it really rare? (except the Saturn stuff) anyway I love it all the rare / valuable
and the common / wortless every item in my collection is important to me in one way or another.

I have most of my top 10 Genesis games.
The one I haven’t found is Mutant League Hockey. I’ll get it eventually.
I’m still looking for Moonwalker. Punisher will have to be a stroke of luck.

I've only ever casually collected Genesis over the years. You never stumble over the interesting Genesis carts. It's much like Super Nintendo collecting, the shovelware was WAY more mass produced than anything solid. You'll see tons of kid movie tie-ins, game shows, sports games and Sonic 2, but the above listed? I've rarely sighted any of them in nearly 15 years of looking through stacks of Genesis carts. There's a lot of games you just never find while hunting, and I've never gone to eBay for Genesis stuff.

Year’s ago I saw many of all of those games except for Dino Land I have never seen that one in all my years of collecting. But it’s has been years since I’ve seen any of those other games now. Like you it’s mostly Sonic and sports and other games nobody wants like Greendog!

At the moment- I only have 7 Genesis games on my wishlist.  I've done pretty good at tracking down all the Genesis games I've wanted in the past few years.  I may add more in the future.  No particular order on any of these.

I've been focusing a bit on Sega lately myself. Always was more of a Nintendo/PlayStation guy back then, so I only really paid attention to the big Sega exclusives for a long time. I was lucky enough to get my #1 and #2 Genesis games recently (The Punisher & Thunder Force III).

My top 10:

Recently I decided to concentrate on collecting for the Sega Genesis and realized that I waited way too long to start.
Most of them are really expensive now, whenever I find one I'm kicking myself for not getting it years ago for half the price or more. Anyways I was wondering what are your top ten or most wanted Genesis games. Here are mine

Thanks everyone for commenting. I feel better about it as a whole. With next gen I gotta look at it more as a upgraded One X and not necessarily a new experience. The backwards compatability and the ability to jump right to game from a cold start is nifty. Its a powerful little beast

350? You got it for 200 less than retail after taxes. If it's new you got a steal, if it's used you still got a steal.

It is pre owned but the previous owner took well care of it. Not even a scratch and runs quietly. I have a month return window and i'm gonna opt for the 2 year insurance from CPS which I never do usually but with this it was only 29.99 and if it happens to have indisclosed wear I will be covered. But it's a relief to know I got a good deal. It was a big decision. I always bloom late with next gen. 


 Anyone got hidden gems or xbox exclusives I might overlook? I love the textured triggers of the new controller.

Alan Wake is a must have imo.

I'm happy with mine. I've had no problems with mine. Games run and look great on it. And the best part is the backwards compatibility going back to the original Xbox and making most games look and/or run better.

And to clear up an earlier point brought up: Only Series X specific games have to be run on the internal hard drive or from a Series X Expansion Card. An external hard drive will play games directly from it if they are Xbox One, 360, or Original Xbox games.

Cool I thought  they had to be moved thanks Doom! My bad
