Last year's Apple Arcade exclusive TMNT game Splintered Fate is coming to Switch first and then other consoles. It's a co-op roguelike.

Modern Video Games / SEGA declares this is the Year of Shadow

Here's a live-action trailer of a girl inspired by Shadow to form a bicycle gang: https://youtu.be/z6Gx7OTn6H0

Shadow will be in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie this year as well as the game Sonic X Shadow Generations.

Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is apparently 30fps as well. What was the point of the current gen again? PS4 Pro and One X already output 4K so it wasn't that.

I saw that the lead or one of the team was talking about "cinematic quality" or something to justify the framerate, which makes zero sense being that movies are at 24, not 30, and also doesn't work being that the PC version will run at a higher framerate.  Like I know they can't just come out to say the hardware isn't powerful enough to do the higher framerate for the game with how they prioritized visuals/resolution, but performance to me always matter more to me.  Anymore, I only deal with 30fps on Switch games, but it's a thing of expectations too, where I know Switch is lesser hardware and also I feel more cartoony graphics aren't as problematic when it comes to the lower FPS/resolution.  It only bothers me when the FPS tanks and it's like a Pokemon Scarlet/Violet situation where the game is both pretty ugly and has bad framerate problems.
High framerates aren't a selling point for Switch like it is for Series X where they mention 120fps five times ont he product page.

The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle is very silly but good.

I've been meaning to watch the 1995 Casper movie for most of my life. I finally did and it sure is weird.

Ricky Stanicky is a classic early 2000s comedy. Very funny Peter Farrelly went from winning a bunch of Oscars including Best Picture to just going back to his roots a few years later.

I also watched the 1994 live action The Flintstones movie. I definitely understand the hate and did not enjoy the plot but The Flintstones is an adult thing after all so having an adult premise isn't really a problem it just didn't deliver. Worth watching for the great set design.

Watching the prequel that released years later currently and it is much better.

There's already even more screenshots out and the price is $39.99 while Outright Games has published some at $49.99. It also has a Walmart edition which has an early unlock costume which seems to apply you can just earn it in the game. Probably my most anticipated game this year.

I've been waiting for this game ever since it was informally announced! This game was unusually announced in September 2023 for PC and unspecified consoles as a movie tie-in game for Mutant Mayhem along with an image showcasing the art style they're going for. It's unusual though because the publisher Outright Games does not typically announce games this far ahead of time, typically opting to announce a game a month or so prior to release.

Today, the title and a few screenshots were revealed via Game Informer. Possibly a first for an Outright Games title to get a formal, exclusive reveal by a gaming publication. The game is set after the movie. It is not due for release until the end of the year. The developer is aheartfulofgames who has worked on Heart&Slash as well as DreamWorks Spirit Lucky's Big Adventure and DreamWorks Dragons: Legends of The Nine Realms both for Outright Games. This is the first 3D Turtles games since 2016 when PlatinumGames released Mutants in Manhattan which was delisted just months after release but has a physical release that seems to be around $40 for a CIB used PS4 copy.

It's easy to write off this game from the publisher but in my opinion Outright Games tends to release decent games for what they are. It also seems like they are taking extra care with this TMNT game given it's unusual rollout. I'm looking forward to it no matter what because I'm obsessed with this era of the Turtles and have watched Mutant Mayhem several times.

They have a continuation of Mutant Mayhem coming sometime this summer via the animated series Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which also takes place after the movie and the direct theatrical sequel film was just recently dated for October 9! ... of 2026. The series and game should be nice to make the wait feel less long at least.

I rewatched Sonic the Hedgehog and then watched Sonic the Hedgehog 2. 2 definitely could have been tighten up a bit, the dance off in the bar did not need to be included and some of the wedding stuff could have been trimmed down but overall I liked it a lot. Looking forward to the Knuckles series and Sonic the Hedgehog 3!

Pentiment launches on PS5 at half the install size and double the frame rate. Developer says it's a bug and the Series X version will be fixed.

Epic Mickey Rebrushed!

Battlefront collection with online play.

South Park game has solo play.

An exclusive brand new Super Monkey Ball game!

Pepper Grinder demo seems worth a download.

Killer Instinct and Blast Corps and other Rare games coming to NSO.

All rumors in my first post were proven true. Quite a decent Direct.

Modern Video Games / Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase 2.21.2024 thoughts?
« on: February 19, 2024, 06:49:07 pm »
Despite being a Partner Showcase there's rumors of Nintendo's Wii franchise Endless Ocean making an appearance here.

Pocket Card Jockey's Apple Arcade remake from Game Freak is also rumored.

A demo for the already announced Contra: Operation Galuga is rumored.

Maybe the Xbox exclusive Pentiment shows up here.
