I do believe that it is an immense lack of respect.
September 11th is the anniversary of one of the worst terrorist attacks in history, so not only game companies, but the whole world should show some respect to that date.

I'm, of course, refering to the American backed attack to the Chilean presidential palace on September 11th, 1973.
That act of state terrorism killed the democratic elected president Salvador Allende and ended up establishing the fascist Augusto Pinochet as the dictator of that country for the next 27 years. In the end, the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 1973 resulted in over 30,000 people tortured and in the assassination of over 3,000 innocent Chileans.

I wasn't aware that Spyro's trilogy had a release date already.
I love remakes and remasters, so I'm definitely going to get one.

Also, Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 4-Plus: Summer Memories (Disaster Report 4) is going to be released on October 25th here in Japan. I love this series and have being waiting for this one since it was originally revealed in 2010 (OVER EIGHT YEARS AGO), so I'm definitely looking forward to getting my hands on it!!

General / Re: What the hell happened to Konami

Well, I think Konami, as a company, just doesn't need things like Castlevania, Contra and Silent Hill anymore.
Here in Japan, these series have never been among the most popular IPs, however they own the rights to Yu-Gi-Oh! and the Nippon Professional Baseball Organization (NPB) which are two HUGE franchises around here. Apart from that, most people in the West may not realize how big the Pachinko business is. You can find them anywhere and, even if you go to a town or village so small that it doesn't even have bus lines, you will certainly see one or two Pachinko parlors around. And finally, Konami owns the (by far) largest chain of fitness clubs in Japan, to the point that, "Konami" became synonymous to the term "gym".
I'm serious when I say that, around here, people don't even remember that Konami is a software development company and, asking someone if they know about Konami's video games is always as obscure as asking them if they know what was Nintendo's business before the Famicom or what was Sega's console before the Mega Drive (unless you are talking about Yu-Gi-Oh! or baseball games).

I don't need to let children win...
I believe the only competitive games I play with kids are Splatoon, Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros. and, in these games, I don't stand any chance against them anyway...

That time I made love on top of an Xbox.

I have a very similar memory involving Destiny and a PS4, but for now, I'll focus on remembering my childhood. Haha.

I have two very good memories of when I got two of my consoles as gifts.
One was when I got my Master System with Alex Kidd and Paperboy. This was my first video game console and me and my father spent so much time playing it...
The other was when I found a PlayStation hiding inside my father's closet, just waiting to be given to me on Christmas (which was around a month away). I waited for him to go to work, took the box out of the closet, opened it, pluged the console to the TV and played Crash Bandicoot for a couple of hours. Then I put everything back in the box and hid it back in the closet. The original PlayStation was the last video game that I got as a present (without having to pay for it by myself) so this is a very nostalgic and vivid memory of the last days of my childhood.

It really depends on so many different things. It depends on how much does the game usually go for and how much I want it (independently of its overall quality).
For example, I would never pay more than ¥2,000 (US$17,80) on any N64 cartridge (even though I know there is a handfull of awesome games for that console), however I happily paid ¥15,000 (US$133.46) for a copy of The King of Fighters '98 for the AES.

522
I think that a lot of my Master System games from the mid-90's are worth much more than what they cost back in the day.
And a more recent game would be Chaves Kart (the Brazilian version of the Mexican El Chavo Kart) for the PS3 that I bought for the equivalent of US$20.00, but that currently seems to be going for a lot more than that.

523
Ace Combat 6 was the sole reason for me to buy an Xbox 360. I don't own neither a Xone nor a Switch, but if for some reason Ace Combat 7 turned into an exclusive for one of these two machines, I would definitely buy the console just to play that game.
Some years ago, Metal Gear and The King of Fighters would also make me do the same, but since (for me at least) these are dead, Ace Combat is the only one left (unless Sega announces a new Alex Kidd... haha).

Off Topic / Re: Do you like your job?
« on: July 01, 2018, 11:31:55 pm »
That's a complicated question. I'm a coal miner by trade. Before I got into it I was always really flabby, and since starting I've built a lot of muscle so I liked it at first, but a few months ago we got a new foreman and he's been on a bit of a power spree. There's a chamber deep in the mine that we've taken to calling the party room, it's like this big open chamber where with a pit dug out into the floor and it's barely lit. Every Tuesday and Thursday (he has a fascination with the letter T) he calls an assembly in the party room where pairs us all up at random and forces each pair to take turns fighting each other to the death in the pit with pickaxes. He plans to keep it going until only one miner survives, and the reward is going to be a month's supply of pizza, which I'm rather looking forward to as I really like pizza, so I've acclimatised to the change pretty well. Though I'm starting to get a bit worried about the foreman, I'm sure it's normal for bosses but every now and then he sprouts wings and horns and tells us that if we ever try to leave the mine he'll send our souls to the underworld, which definitely strikes me as a violation of my employment contract but I really want that pizza. Overall I'd say the job has its ups and downs but my feelings lean more towards the positive. I'm starting to miss my family though.

I envy you. At least you seem to have a good internet connection down there.
And good luck with that pizza challenge, it sounds fun!
