Modern Video Games / Re: IMO...the PS5 is a POS
« on: October 18, 2021, 06:28:41 am »
I have no idea what does "POS" even mean, but... if you ask me, the PS5 hasn't even been released yet. It's like a Beta console or something.
I've seen only THREE beeing sold on second hand shops so far, and all of them for over the equivalent to US$800...

General / Re: Consoles you had the most and least fun collecting for?
« on: October 18, 2021, 06:23:38 am »
Most fun:
Sega Saturn - Living in Japan, collecting for the Saturn has been lots of fun for over 10 years now. It seems no matter how much I research about this console, there's always something new to discover about it. Even better: with rare exceptions, most good Saturn games are still dirt cheap around here. And when I say "cheap", I really mean it! Like the equivalent to US$1.00〜US$5.00 or so.

Least fun:
Apple/Bandai Pippin - In my whole life I've only found ONE game for that piece of junk (and a pretty crappy one, by the way): Gundam Tactics: Mobility Fleet 0079. I have to say, the Pippin controller is way better than it looks though.

4 - Uncharted: A Thief's End
5 - Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown
6 - Resident Evil 2
7 - Horizon Zero Dawn
8 - God of War
9 - Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
10 - 99Vidas

Off Topic / Re: What Was The Last Movie/Anime You Watched?

Just came back home from watching the new 007.

Despite the generic title (No Time to Die), it was a pretty entertaining movie with some bold choices for a Bond flick.
Recommended.

Daytona USA easily takes the cake for me.
Another arcade racer I used to play a lot is Hang On.
Oh yeah! Good ol' Sega, baby!

If you ask me, this console hasn't even been properly released yet.
I don't know how's the situation where you guys live, but here in Japan, I've been trying to get my hands on a PS5 for almost a full year and it has been simply impossible.

I just wish Sony could speed up the manufacturing of those machines.
Living in Japan, I've been trying to purchase a PS5 (for a fair price) since it was first announced and it's been virtually IMPOSSIBLE...

There's a huge difference between games I enjoy playing and games I'm good at playing...
For example, I used to believe to be pretty good at most of the Street Fighters and at the older SNK fighting games, but now that most of these are available for on-line play, I realized my skills I am absolutely atrocious. Nevertheless, I still enjoy playing them.
Something similar applies for Ace Combat: I'm an ace (pun intended) on the single player campain and completely innofensive on on-line multiplayer.

I don't think I've never been interested in any tower defense, strategy or management/simulation games, but if I had to choose one game that doesn't speak to me at all, it'd definitely be everything ever released in the The Sims franchise...

Your channel is actually PRETTY GOOD!
I've been listening to it a lot recently.

Keep up with the good work!

My favorite series definitely has to be the Metal Gear (Solid) franchise. I've been in love with it since I first played it on a demo disc for the original PlayStation.
However, since we can considered the franchise to be concluded (or rather terminated), I think my favorite ongoing series is Ace Combat. I really like the whole lore of Strangereal and find the gameplay to be the most refined (and yet simple) of any console arcade flight simulators.
Long live the great Yuktobanian Motherland!

Being raised in a Sega-only environment, there's a lot of good Famicom/NES, Super Famicom/SNES and TurboGrafx-16 games I wasn't familiar with growing up.
I'll try naming only games about which I found out in the last five years or so, but from the top of my head, I can say:

- Ai Senshi Nicol (Famicom Disk System)
- The Firemen (Super Famicom)
- Gundam Wing: Endless Duel (Super Famicom)
- Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu (PC Engine)
- Side Arms Special (PC Engine CD)
