Modern Video Games / The Worst Thing That Could Happen To Modern Gamers IYO
« on: December 02, 2018, 12:15:54 am »
I said this already on a reply to another thread. but I wanted to discuss this further with the modern gaming community. without changing the main question that was asked in there.

Do you think this is may be a possibility?

(IF) the next generation the 9th generation could charge us a weekly monthly or daily fee in order to continue to play the games and console we already purchased.

or if the console was only rented out, never sold to anyone both games and console. and required a bill through a service. like cable or internet and phone. and never sold to the public legally.

do you think that  the game companies will sick to a new low? or have some already done charged people for basic game functions? or perhaps patches?

I am not talking about Downloadable Content or charging just for extras.

What do you think would be the worst thing that could happen for modern gamers besides not having any video games? :'(

Off Topic / Re: What are your thoughts on digital collections?
« on: December 02, 2018, 12:03:50 am »
Some of us are lucky we were born in the 1960's 1970's 1980's or 1990's or early 2000's or before 1960's because we actually got to own our games physically.

I personally think that one reason why the whole modern gaming market switched to digital only. Because of those people who trade the game into stores as soon as they beat them >:(, I am pissed also that video games we buy can now be taking away from us. In spite of paying full price on everything out these days. All of us Gamers both retro and modern need to pray that the physical  realm of games continues, or at least some of the laws on owning physical things don't change due to greed.

The Flashback as well as the classic consoles were a great idea in my opinion. I hope that future consoles will not have media rights, ensuring that game companies will allow offline usage.

Worst thing that could happen is if the next generation the 9th generation could charge us a weekly monthly or daily fee in order to continue to play the games and console we already purchased >:(

Same resolutions as always
-Kick ass
-Chew gum

Ahhh a Famous Quote From Duke Nukem 3D PC, or Duke Nukem Total Meltdown on PlayStation 1 ;)

for anyones information these is more to just Duke Nukem 3D on PC

Duke Nukem 3D or Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition is one of the greatest video games in my opinion. Beleve it or not there was 3 expansion packs, and, many more fan made spin-offs to that game. like Duke Zone 1, and
Duke Zone 2, Duke Nukem Assault, Duke Nukem Extreme and many more

the three expansions to that PC version game are

1: Duke Nukem Duke It Out In DC
2:Duke Nukem Nuclear Winter
3: Duke Caribbean: Life's A Beach

Steam is the best way to get those 3 expansion packs up and working correctly.  I think that is if steam still has them :-\

Off Topic / Can You Speak Or Understand Different World Languages?
« on: December 01, 2018, 05:15:24 pm »
It's always a good idea to learn Japanese if you love video games in my opinion, due to the fact that there is probably more Japanese exclusive video games than in an other exclusive language

I only speak English knowing what I am saying, I never took the time or the resources to learn any other world language, how about you? I'm sure at least some of you speak or understand a different language. If you are one of them care to say how you learned it? or maybe how long you've spoken more than one language? Some languages are harder to learn then others :)

General / Do You Prefer Playing Single Or With Friends?
« on: November 30, 2018, 12:34:28 am »
I would prefer to play a more hard and complicated game with a friend if I had the room. Coop with people (at your place) is often more fun the the single player experience, depending on how hard the game is. In my opinion For easy games I don't mind single player for something like the sims where you can go at your own pace

I don't like to go against friends in a fighting video game, and much prefer something like Mortal Kombat 4 in which you can have up to 4 players on 2 controllers, or coop also on 1 controler against the Computer.

Nothing is more fun than any 4 player game at parties if you got the space. especially when you have the luxury of having your own personal controller

General / First Person, 3D Tactical War Simulators Discussion
« on: November 28, 2018, 10:13:31 pm »
I'm not referring to games like Call Of Duty, Battlefield, Metal Of Honor (etc) I am only referring to an actually single player war simulator's or this would include 1-3 shot deaths in a single player campaign.

The original "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon" for PC. Ghost Recon 1 is like Call Of Duty. Except for the fact you don't see yourself holding a weapon, and that both you and the computer soldiers die in, 1 to 3 shots maximum. This is a realistic war simulator game. imagine being in the woods and you have 4 soldiers against tanks limited ammo and hidden in camouflage  guys with machine guns. and the odds of dying is that same as your enemies, on the single player campaigns.

I only like to play Ghost Recon on cheats when I had it a long time ago on PC, the 1 playable character dying in 1-3 shot with both you and your enemy with machine guns.

What are your current thoughts on "Ghost Recon Series", OR other 3D Tactical War Simulators alike like the "Brothers In Arms, Road To Hill 30"

Off Topic / Re: CD's, Vinyl (etc) Music Collectors Unite
« on: November 28, 2018, 07:52:16 pm »
A lot of people collect for vinyls records of the  1960's famous British rock band called "The Beatles". So far I only have one Beatles CD, a greatest hits music CD compilation called "Beatles 1" I figure everyone has heard of this rock band so I'd figure I mention it.

The Beatles, also Led Zeppelin are not my favorite rock bands and I do find them a bit over rated. Believe it or not The British rock band called "The Rolling Stones" is a bit underrated (these days) as far as I can see, But the Rolling Stone were also famous and I think they been preforming live since the mid 1960's

I have at least 4 music CD albums of The Rolling Stones. I really can't find too many The Beatles CD's out there for any cheap price though. but I haven't looked lately Thoughts?

level 5, because of how gaming effects me today, I have the desire to play video games. but lately in the past year. I am too depressed to play. I've been feeling too sick,  for the last 2 years. But talking about them would be a 10-10

To answer the thread question I wouldn't know where to begin. Except Amazon.com in the UK

I would probably go with a used SONY brand Dualshock 3 controller on Amazon.com UK branch. Or check out a corded non wireless controller for your PlayStation 3? I'm assuming?

I bought my SONY brand wireless controllers at GameStop and as long as you keep the battery charged. It should do well. although I did had a used SONY ware out after a few mouths of use that came with my PlayStation 3 that I got off Amazon.com in the US

If you buy the SONY brand or any wireless brand PS3 controller, make sure that the battery charging USB cable comes with it.

ALSO REMEMBER TO HIT THE PIN HOLE RESET BUTTON ON BACK OF CONTROLLER  IF YOU GET IT USED

In order of improvements

1st Place: I think the best console generation in spite of the hardware breakdowns and 7th generation console reliability at first. is the 7th. PlayStation 3, then Wii, then Xbox360. the 7th generation was the first to offer (more modern) Internet services, like Youtube, Hulu and Netflix Servers on top of video games, and even the ability to record music on the Xbox360 and PlayStation 3 watch movies and gaming and music all in one console for less money that a gaming PC.

2nd Place: However 2nd place goes to the 5th Generation, where 2D made the switch to 3D and practically killed the arcade scene because of it. AND for the 1st time in history, the 5th generation consoles specs were better than $1000 plus PCs at the time. While the primitive 3D consoles like the PlayStation 1, the Nintendo 64, and the Sega Saturn for example, were way cheaper and way better at the games without spending $1000+ on PC that still needed upgrades in order for gaming. Plus Windows OS sucked back then and Apple OS was even worse at playing video games than the "Windows 95/98/ME"

3rd Place: You know I hate to say this but I think that the 2nd Generation was a big step. The 2nd generation of video gaming was the vary first to have digitized graphics. Before consoles like the Atari 2600/VCS and the Intellivision and the Colecovision for example. graphics on tv consoles just didn't exist at all. and most don't realize that most every basic video game AI coding, or hack was practically invented in the 2nd generation although I am not sure. :-\

4th place: the  6th Generation mostly, SONY for making the PS2 the vary first console, to watch movies/DVD's and perfect the 3D console gaming to the PC game levels, at that time frame.

5th Place: the 3rd Generation for vastly improving on the 8 bit graphics, from the old Atari days like the NES and Master System did so well

6th place: the 4th generation, for making perfect cartoon like graphics and  setting the way to be 3D.

last place: :( (because I never played it and I don't desire it vary much at the moment) the 8th generation, not too many improvements from 7th I hear except for longer more interactive games.

Was I hacked? how do I progress in a game that is now impossible to beat. I got the skill but I am stuck without an object needed to progress. after all the work I did in the other missions in which is even hard for me on easy. Am I missing something? their is no airships all of them were occupied then destroyed on my save file. And I am pissed because someone probably pulled a prank on me through the WIFI. and is likely to do the same again if I start over again.

Man, if you are really as paranoid as you seem to be about any glitch, etc being from hackers out to get you- maybe just play offline? Halo CE is single player only so there is no need to be connected to wifi.

I am but I'm gonna try not to be so after this :)

I've been playing this with my friend recently and I have noticed many bugs here and there! Not gaming breaking as this but surprised howfrequent they are.

I once encountered a bug that instantly killed me in one shot with full health before too

2024
You can't be hacked like that lol It was probably a bad auto-save.  Just need to restart the stage.  Aren't the Halo levels playable individually? If so, that makes it easy enough.

I'll try that thanks for clearing that up @kamikazekeeg :)

2025
I am at the point where I may need to start "Halo 1 Combat Evolved Anniversary" from the beginning. Not sure what happened but I am on either the 8th or 9th mission out of the 10 mission to completion of the game. the enemies hijacked all the flying vehicles, and I can no longer progress. Because I need them. To fly to the next way point in order to progress. And none of them re-spawn, plus in halo 1 you can't repair the shot down or destroyed vehicles. or can you? once a vehicle is destroyed there is no going back either. I am afraid even If i start over the same thing will happen

I am playing the game on an Xbox360 and this game is for the Xbox original

Was I hacked? how do I progress in a game that is now impossible to beat. I got the skill but I am stuck without an object needed to progress. after all the work I did in the other missions in which is even hard for me on easy. Am I missing something? their is no airships all of them were occupied then destroyed on my save file. And I am pissed because someone probably pulled a prank on me through the WIFI. and is likely to do the same again if I start over again.

I had no choice because the enemies stole everything and I won't ever be able to complete the game. Does anyone know if there is another way to get to the Nav point on top of a cliff with only destroyed airships?
