I am not trying be a jerk and no I am not the law. But I used to download anything and everything that involved gaming on a PC. And sometimes I know for a fact even roms can have attachments that are undetectable virus or Trojan Horses. those are usually avoidable by deleting the files that come with the download that have no extension or a strange windows icon that you know from experience that has nothing to do with the free program, or game you just downloaded. and sometimes I pried viruses off windows XP off my PC by changing it's code or/and by renaming it and deleting the file afterward by forcing deleting the unmarked stuck file

Eventually I fear the day when all games physically go out of stock everywhere and the people holding on to collections only sell the crappy games they don't want for an extreme price. I know now this will be a day that will come, if someone don't do anything about not releasing psychical releases. ROM's may be the only affordable option for me in the future, And the police get paid to find criminals. Not only that, but

I knew a man that was arrested with a large fine and 30 days in the city or county jail for Jaywalking. DO NOT underestimate the police. Because some police only get paid to arrest criminals and they do just that. Some police will find the littlest excuse to drag you in too. Or, fine you a ticket that you must pay or you will put into county jail or state prison :-\

PS some police will show mercy but some cities really are cracked down hard most police, are nice but few can be mean, and strict, like in some of the cities around where I live.

you have to be warned with everything you download because the internet is a public place and some ROM may contain illegal attachments that could get you arrested

Emulation is not morally wrong anyone who tells you so is a shill.  That being said I don't really emulate because I prefer playing on the original hardware when possible.

I agree Emulation itself is not morally wrong in my opinion. I have many emulated games in the form of compilations for PlayStation 2, emulation is often sold completely legally by official companies.  Internet ROM's though I am not as sure about them

2179
I used to use ROM's just like a lot of people, But I stopped a long time ago after I found out a few people were arrested for having them on their computers. now every time I think of ROMS I  think of a song that has lyrics of "I broke the law, and the law won" But I am still tempted to get free ROMS but I don't and don't plan to ever again. back in 2013 I had a bunch of ROMS but I deleted all of them just a few years before I got a new PC and I never touched them ever since. But I did have a Free version of the sims 1 ultimate collection since that at that time nor steam or GOG games had the game for sale and amazon was all sold out

It's kinda weird but nowadays there is a lot of downloadable games for PC that you can download for free but most of them are illegal  including MS/DOS full version games that are considered abandonware.

I personally don't want to put the law to work on me so I think ROMs are morally wrong and dangerous on your gaming equipment but that is my opinion
I now believe downloaded ROMs a version of stealing and the same with everdrive. But I do own one NES Multicart I bought off Etsy

Site Feedback / Re: A Copy Of Sent PM's Not Being Found In Sent Items
« on: August 08, 2018, 07:12:03 pm »
Hm, that does sound odd. When you go to send someone a message, the checkbox for "Save a copy in my outbox" is checked, right?

I didn't see that checkbox before I sent the messages so that could be the issue

Site Feedback / A Copy Of Sent PM's Not Being Found In Sent Items
« on: August 08, 2018, 05:52:48 pm »
I noticed for a while now that when I send out a PM even for an admin or moderator I don't have access to view my sent messages. As far as I know I can still receive and send messages to anyone who don't have me blocked logically. But the message currently does not show up inside my sent messages box or what it is called. Maybe this is a feature to stop people from sending another person the same message? Not sure at this point but I can understand sort of why this is happening. If it is some kind of feature or setup the admin has for a reason

Me? not really, but hearing a song called "Angry Again" by the band Megadeth makes me think of the 1st level midi song in Duke Nukem II for MS/DOS. in which that 1st level of that particular game song is indeed a midi version of the actual Megadeth song called Angry Again

Sorry but YouTube don't have a comparison video currently for the Midi version of Angry Again without having to hear the main menu music first but if your curious l

General / Re: Let's List the Top 100 Gamecube games!
« on: August 05, 2018, 02:43:31 pm »
It's not an exclusive or rated as a top 100 or anything to my knowledge to the GameCube. But it was a game I played over and over again as a teenager and I am not sure but the GameCube version is rarely talked about and this game is little different from the PlayStation 2 port. both games are the same but I don't think the GameCube has online or offline multiplayer like the PS2 version did

Back in the MS/DOS era of PC gaming there was this thing called Shareware, in which was basically games that let you play a the whole first section of a video game for free. In most cases, the first  section of a video game. Shareware let you try a game out from the developer (not pirated) for free. Most Shareware was actually more then a just a demo. example is the shareware version of Wolfenstein 3D  the developer gave you 10 levels for free and then 60 levels total on it's finished project the full version. while some shareware versions of PC games only gave you 1 level or 1 part of a level for trying out for free.

My PlayStation 1 came with a demo disc of many 1 level games or maybe 1% of some games of the time for example 1 level of Spiro The Dragon 1

To answer this question since I don't play new games I prefer finished products over demos now in life. But I guess it was kind of nice to have played Spiro 1 because it got me and my family into the Spiro The Dragon series and encouraged me to get 3 different PS2 Spiro the Dragon games

But I would not pay for a demo disc if someone was selling one :-\

do you consider the internet some sort of cable service? I have always been staunchly against cable/satellite tv because the whole business plan never made sense to me. why would I want to pay $150 a month for 600 channels when I only watch a hand full of channels? on top of that they have been adding morew and more commercials over the years so they are making money on top of the money I am spending to see them.

if they want my money (especially now a days) then they can offer a package that you only pay for the channels you watch. I would be very happy to spend 1-3 bucks a channel a month and only get the channels I care about.

There is a free cable service or at least it used to be free called "Rabbit TV" you used to basically buy a cheap USB device for your PC and such and it gives you internet television but according to my personal experience the USB thingy breaks easy and you can basically ruin your USB ports if you're not careful and according to amazon it has receive  poor reviews

2187
My unlimited internet comes with a cable service so that's the only reason I have it.

I watch Suits and Gotham each week at the moment and they are literally the only things I turn the TV on to watch.

Are you on a contract Seether? usually bundles like that charge more after usually 1 year. My ISP used to bug me to sign up with cable and internet for less but the catch with Comcast is unless you cancel before the year or months are gone past they may hike up the price on you Seether

but if your on a contract with any company they you will get a large penalty for cancelling early

2188
Ditched the cable service here. I was paying $160 a month because in order to view sports, you have to get the higher tiered package.
Got an antenna for local plus Netflix and Hulu on a fire stick. Most of the channels I use to watch on cable have an app I can view recent broadcasts with anyway. I still buy a lot of blu rays as well, so I’m not missing cable at all.

ouch, what cable company charges $160 a month? were you getting 600+ channels? or were you ordering pay per view things?

 I pay $104 for
2 box rentals
250+ channels
I also pay for warranty to have free tech visits

I have DISH NETWORK

Off Topic / How Many Still Watch TV Or Have Some Kind Of Cable Service?
« on: August 01, 2018, 08:31:56 am »
I have been watching television lately. I just got Dish Network Satellite TV service installed in my game room and I have been enjoying it. For the longest time I was watching only Netflix and YouTube on my internet connection. satellite cable service maybe expensive but I got it anyway.

Now I am taking a break from my internet and video game collecting hobby. because I am sick from constant headaches and I can't focus on a video game anymore or at least right now in my life. Maybe I am too old for video games because the same thing happen to me when I was 19 years old and no longer held the  interest in toys. :( Or maybe I am just too depressed for video games I am only 29 years old. when I was a teen and growing up I used to play video games for sometimes 12 full hours or more when i didn't have school

Classic Video Games / Re: Which version of Mario do you like best?
« on: July 31, 2018, 08:46:55 am »
You've got this aversion to giving us the best ones to vote on!

Also, Baby Mario is the flippin worst.

I wounder how the guy on the right is supposed to be Mario because he reminds my of a younger american version of Santa Clause or some kind of carny. he looks nothing like Mario not even the mustache looks like Mario's mustache. as for Luigi on he remind me of a old fashion mail man or perhaps a man that works at a quick mart, and not a plumber

As for a favorite I don't really have one
