I personally don't use Ebay, I don't think that getting something off Ebay is a guarantee. especially with someone else setting the bar vary higher than earlier bidders. It I am guessing is not a guarantee your going to get what you want especially if someone beats you in the price range

Also I heard people getting piles of poop in a box sent to them from sellers off Ebay, I would guess someone would want to do that to someone who offered a low price with no competition

It's vary affordable. like most have been saying for a long time now, it is cheaper than other hobbies

You might as well forget getting all the games for most any console, with more and more collectors going for full sets their will eventually be nothing left for new retro collectors to buy and actually own. I'm sure by as of today it's probably impossible to find some titles that are the most rare and sought after. More people are buying to keep.

Lets say if there is 100,000 collectors going for full sets or have a full set already what if each of those collectors owned an ultra rare game that only 100,000 copies were ever produced. SO many games and a lot of forgotten ones. Id say if you can fork over $1000 for one game to complete your collection nobody is stopping you

Yes in my opinion. but calling something collectible is usually something in matter of the opinion of who's collecting the games and who is the one calling them collectible

Cool thanks.  You weren't kidding, tons of stuff out there on the net for stuck reset buttons and quite a bit for buttons with full motion that just don't work.  In most of those cases it just stopped working one day. Those have tried cleaning the switch with isopropyl and contact cleaner with no effect. This french fellow has the best cleaning how to (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvkGGjkD5nI#action=share) and this one shows you how to get there (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2dRyVFG1Cc).  True be told you've prob already found these vidz.  I'm gonna keep an eye out in forums for someone who's got a solution.

thanks for your concern, but I just gonna leave it alone. I have a deep feeling that the expansion pack is the cause. Because the exact video, I watched had the same issue and it also had the red expansion pack installed :)

I like to own a game for it's fun factor. a lot of rare game are rare for a reason. And sometimes it is because they stink or where underrated on their release. yet most common games I actually found to be fun including common overlooked sports titles. why pay $100 or more on a rare game when you could have just as much fun on a common game?

Who like common games? I Do :)

If you do see my collection I'll confess I own a bunch of compilations with the rare stuff

2318
I would buy all of the many vary expensive common games that are actually high because of their fun or fan value. but if I ate out less I would currently have maybe $100 US more

So this may be a dumb question but what exactly is the unit doing?  I see the title says Reset troubles but that doesn't tell me if the power LED comes on, displays an image, outputs audio, tried power w/o expansion pak, all that jazz.  Lets take this step by step and figure it out together.
RESPONCE

1: The LED light does come on when I have the N64 turned on
2: Games and Images work fine
3: Audio is fine

4: didn't remove the expansion pack but have a feeling that it's the cause of reset button not doing anything. I can't test the console without the expansion chip because it needs to be inserted in order for the N64 to run. (I don't currently have another chip to test this theory though)

The only thing broken on this system. Is that the reset button don't reset the game, it's not stuck. I can still push I down. and the reset button pops back up normally. Except nothing happens the game does not reset

The on and off switch works fine. It's really not a console breaker but it is kinda annoying

There are no must get retro games.

I can tell you though if you like old race or sports games you will be having a great time.

If your into those genre's I mean the quality can be quite high there is a reason why these were the games that had sold pretty great back in the day

he is right there are really no must get retro games because everyone opinion is different

Off Topic / Re: Is your toilet seat cushioned or is it hard?
« on: May 30, 2018, 11:00:09 pm »
speaking of toilets I once had a relative who rented a house with no toilet. I think he even had to buy it.

As far a toilet seats go the soft ones rip and stain easy but don't get extremely cold like the hard plastic one do. The wood ones crack easy and will pinch you. If you ever shopping for a toilet seat although the hard plastic ones can get vary cold I would recommend the either wood or plastic

Off Topic / Your 2018 Summer Plans
« on: May 30, 2018, 02:41:40 am »
I plan on playing some games not sure about going anywhere special.

Summer for me brings back video game nostalgia. I don't get out much. But if I did I would get overheated because it actually can be up to 110' Fahrenheit plus 99% humidity in the lower east part of Michigan during the summer months. and I don't have air conditioning currently due to costs. but I live in a cooler room.

what are some of your summer plans? Do you intending on playing games? or going fishing for real? or maybe a BBQ? or maybe you plan on hunting for more games. I do plan on hunting for more games

Classic Video Games / Re: Mechwarrior 2 (DOS) question
« on: May 29, 2018, 08:32:00 am »
I don't think the mouse was programmed when using DOSbox. I don't know how to fix this. in fact when I used to play Mechwarrior 2 for PC I only used the keyboard. Remember this was an early 1990's game and not many people that I am aware of used the mouse for aiming back in the day. I'd say you could try to run it with windows but come to think, I never used the mouse in that game other then to start the game up :-\

to rotate the torso I pressed the greater than or less then < or > key left for left and right for right.

Press any one of the arrow keys to turn your entire mech and 1-0 on the keyboard to walk forward

I would also read the key configuration because this game has a lot of controls

It's going through a reset loop, correct?

I had that same problem after mine had sat for a while.  Although the console was clean it would start resetting after 10 or so seconds of gameplay.  Then it wouldn't get past the N64 boot logos before resetting.   My experience and what I did was clean the contacts on the expansion module and the contacts inside the expansion bay.

If that's not the issue and the button isn't working at all then the issues lies with the momentary switch itself.  It may be clean but that button is notorious for collecting debris.  I would say some dust or whatnot made it's way all the way down to the switch and is keeping it from making contact.  The only way to fix the problem would be to completely tear it down and manually clean it.

no I'm lucky it's not it just the buttion just don't work period
