General / Re: Which Character Do You Choose?
« on: February 17, 2018, 12:56:32 am »

Do you know if Zandronum is playable on relatively modern computers?

Yes it is, but I am not sure how occupied the servers are today, most people moved on from Online original doom & doom II mods. If you have doom all you need is the Doom or Doom II or Plutonia or TNT Iwad file to play. after you install the Zandronum app then you may have to locate the doom wad files on the harddrive.

to get this off steam you need to first download doom and go into your steam folder on your hard drive then into the steamapps folder after you download doom II.

to play this game. the app is free, but you need the Iwad files to play most notable the original 1994 Doom II wad file
here is a link of the description of what a Wad File is

https://zdoom.org/wiki/IWAD

Here is a link to the app but I think it is strickly PC. but it should work with windows 10 or 7
https://zandronum.com/

but there is thousands of free mods for doom II and I kinda forgot what that pwad was called :(

You need a special and free Pwad I forgot what it was called to play with the select a character take note.

Could the Chex Warrior be DLC?

Just kidding. Doomguy for the win.

Hey @aliensstudios? :)

Did you used to play Zandronum or skulltag coop online back in the day? Because there was a doom II pwad file that let you choose between Duke Nukem, Doom Guy, Chexman, Strife Guy, and Quake guy! :)

IN fact somebody already came up with an Idea just like the Original Post. Only thing is there is no game yet made including both Samus Aran and Master Chief yet. I don't think

I thought a comparison of these figures would have some amusing results. (not realistic) But, if they made a game with all three of these characters which one would you choose to play with. For me? I guess doomguy?

1: is Doomguy is from (Doom 2016)

2: is Samus Aran (from Metriod Series)

3: is Master Cheif (from Halo series)

Classic Video Games / Re: Future Cop L.A.P.D. (PS1)

I had this game on PC but sadly it would never run on my PC. and in fact the PC port was utter junk in my opinion. Because, why should a game made for windows 98 or windows 95 not work on any windows operating system? It said it was for windows. :(

I really wish "Viet Cong Purple Haze" on the PlayStation 2 was more like it's PC counterpart. But it lacks a whole lot compared to the PC version. Even though the game port  on PS2 did include the some of the PC Viet Cong Purple Haze's expansion pack levels. I still thought it was lacking severely in compared to the PC version. it IS still fun on PS2 even though they through in an ugly stealth mission, that I barely made it through without quitting. (I hate forced stealth missions in games)

In the PC version of Viet Cong Purple Haze it has more world depth and the missions are better on the PC version as well

For those who do not know Viet Cong Purple Haze is old 6th generation and is one of the only Vietnam War first person shooter games ever created.

General / Wacky Game Titles Or Gameing Plots
« on: February 08, 2018, 05:36:51 pm »
I been wanting to mention this really funny game title with a vary strange plot for a while. But I fear it may come with backlash or controversy. Because it really is a weird home brew game for the Atari 2600 that is also reviewed on YouTube by someone else.

Game title is called "Explosive Diarrhea". a home brew cartridge with a silly plot where you must carry a southern US. american family across a mine field and into an outhouse. to earn points. and according to footage on YouTube your character models look like backwards d letters

General / Story Driven Games? Follow? Or Skip?
« on: February 06, 2018, 09:01:01 pm »
How many of you follow the storylines in video games. I have heard on steam that some people could care less about the story in most shooting video games, how about you? Do you follow the cut scenes in any video game or do you skip some of them, and go straight to gameplay?

I usually follow a video game's storyline if I have a series of the same game. I rarely like to play a sequel of video game franchise. without first playing the first game or it's prequel. but sometimes the first game can suck on some franchises or it's the other way around.

Lets also talk about good stories and bad stories in our video games also :)

Modern Video Games / Re: Most Modern Games too Easy?
« on: February 05, 2018, 10:28:06 am »
lets not forget the controller lag and cheap unfairness some older games had. As said before here some older games that are extremely hard. Are due to the constant failure to have spot on controls or bad landing detection on some of the platforms. Arcade ports were generally harder due to the fact that the original game (being in the arcade) was made to spend your quarters.

Some older games are just harder because of design problems

everybody has different tastes for their PS2 games. So I suggest YouTube reviews made by various people. You didn't say what kind of games you are into. here is a link to a bunch of PS2 reviews to help out some. because for myself I favor First Person Shooters, Sports games and Arcade Compilation ports over RPGs, Platformers

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ps2+reviews

Anyway I highly recommend if you don't mind mostly 1980's and early 1990's arcade games also early 1980's atari and intellivision

1: Capcom Classics Volume 1
2: Capcom Classics Volume 2
3: Midway Arcade Treasures 1
4: Midway Arcade Treasures 2
5: Midway Arcade Treasures 3
6: Taito Legends 1
7: Taito Legends 2
8: Mega Man Anniversary Collection
9: Megaman X Collection
10: Atari Anthology
11: Activision Anthology
12: Intellivision lives
13: SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1
14: Namco Museum: 50th Anniversary
15: Sonic Mega Collection Plus

These games are good starters because they all contain multiple games per purchase

Modern Video Games / Re: Amzon shipping different region games?
« on: February 04, 2018, 09:21:24 am »
Yes, just yesterday I was shopping for Halo 2 for the Xbox (on amazon.com) and the first seller on the list. A sign said look at the region before buying!

and low and behold it was a UK release

it also told me also that the seller was shipping  from the United Kingdom aka Great Britain as well. So I just scrolled down and purchased from a seller in US Michigan instead. the further they send it the more shipping you will have to pay it is just logic.

No, in my opinion. It's too risky and like others have already said it is too easy to rip someone off, and for example if you ever need to put a new harddrive or reset the console to factory shaped conditions unless you know
(for You to know)
1: Account Holders Current Password
2: Account Holders Current Username
3: Account holders Current Security Question or Date Of Birth
4: Account Holders Email and Email Password

(For the Seller to Know)
1: If You're The Seller who you sold it to someone  and if you do provide the following. the one you sold it to could even have access to your credit card Information, your location, and even get your identity stolen by the person who knows these things. for the seller or the buyer this is not safe for either of you.

General / Re: Let's Talk About The 7th Generation Of Gaming Consoles
« on: February 02, 2018, 05:25:58 pm »
And if the Wii is being considered the 7th gen, what is the Wii U? Cause the switch is supposed to be the current gen. Would that make the Wii U the only 7.5 gen console?

It depends on whether or not you remember or forget the 6th generation Nintendo Gamecube, technically the Wii U was launched at the time of the other 8th generation consoles. and for a while competed against the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Wii U was a failed console mostly, or was it considered it a handheld? I am not too sure ::)

the Nintendo Switch could be considered the first generation 9 console, but I can see where you are confused. since #1 not many people remember the Gamecube as being in the time of the PlayStation 2, Xbox and Sega Dreamcast. the Wii was one of the competitors against the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 from around the time the Wii was released

The Switch was an early generation 9 release in my opinion
