General / Online Gameplay Vs Offline Gameplay
« on: January 03, 2018, 05:54:04 pm »
hello, and welcome to this thread. which is your choice when it comes to Online gameplay. Are you some that takes risks with complete strangers do you only play with your buddies.

For Me about 4 years ago I used to run doom servers on my home PC and I played with a bunch of complete strangers from around the world. I did make some old acquaintances this way. and even ran a teamspeak server for a few months in a private clan. but ever since I left contact with my old online buddies I have not ran a single Doom 2 server since.

I much prefer offline games but I love to play multiplayer with someone I know in the same room
which do you prefer offline or online gameplay?

General / Your Favorite Sports Games Or Peevs
« on: December 30, 2017, 07:41:25 pm »
I made another topic about Sports Games over 120 days ago. And I don't want to be a bother. But, what sports games do you have in your collection, and if so, name some of your most favorites. and why you like them, or not.

My favorite sport genres is
1:Hockey
2: Golf
3:Basketball
4: Soccer/International Football
5: Baseball
6: American Football

I currently don't like Madden Football games because I'd rather not deal with the intense coaching strategy. In fact most EA sports games period. force you to tweak strategy in order for you to keep wining.

just like in NHL 2004 and later years where. If you want to keep winning you must change the coaching strategy or else you'll lose or have a heck of a time with your players going completely off sync or your NPC players will start goofing off especially in the defense.

I am pretty good at NHL strategy but terrible at Football and Soccer Football games. Most of you might not know the secrets of winning in EA's NHL. But I can tell you if you can't score, or are always getting hit and if your players start goofing off and running in circles around the other team

making you painstakingly try to keep your players in line (then you must learn how to setup the correct coaching strategy) But in older NHL titles such as NHL 2003 and before there is a way to set your coaching strategy to auto leaving you less worry and difficulty but in NHL 2004 and later games they make you memorize the correct coaching strategy in the team options screen or else say goodbye to victory and hello to getting your ass kicked

General / Collection Slowdowns Or Missfortunes
« on: December 28, 2017, 05:07:14 pm »
How many have had some misfortune in their video game collection, it can be anything from disc rot to cartridges breaking or if you ever were robbed some of your games or consoles.

Me personally as you read in a lot of my post some of the used PS3 games I've got holes in the Blurays from where the top layer somehow came off this has occurred to a lot of my PlayStation 3 games.  however luckily never been robbed as of today, but I had some of my collection needing to be thrown away. So far my PlayStation 1 & 2 Xbox and Gamecube and Wii games seem to be ok.

I'm having a difficult time with Playstation 3 disc rot in fact I even bought some games with that defect  :'(

Imagine Lets Just say. if sometime in the future lets say the leader of your country made all arcades and laser  tag a comeback

free for kids and those staff who make it all happen and safely. and maybe just a whole lot cheaper for adult guests. I would love arcades to come back and especially laser tag more then arcades.

Have any of you ever played laser tag? I think it was like $20.00 I think to join in for 15 minutes where everyone runs around in an arena physically  and aims at the other players suits and if you are hit it disables your weapon for a short while.

I only played laser tag 3 times in my entire life and I loved it. However I was too late growing up as the arcades were all abandoned.

I love the racing simulator arcade machines with the cockpit and the seat, but I hated the waste of quarters it had and how short of a time It lets me race.

I am 29 if anyone want to know how old I am today :)

Modern Video Games / Is an Xbox One S Backwards Compatible
« on: December 25, 2017, 10:15:05 am »
I got 2 Xbox One games for Christmas and I don't currently own an Xbox One I was thinking of buying an Xbox One S because I heard it was backwards compatible

Is It?

I can't afford the Xbox One X since is is like $400.00 or $500.00 as of this post. and I already own an Xbox 360 slim but I think I heard that All Xbox 360s were kinda a junker system and only lasting a few months before breaking down permanently or at least need repair after little usage. I currently own an Xbox 360 Slim in which is new but I heard it breaks down after little usage anyone have any suggestions. and thanks for taking the time reading this post :)

I hope they do more in fact I don't care how original these things are I don't want to buy a modern system because they mostly require an internet connection in order to play. Not to mention in modern games most games you buy will not be downloadable after so many years.

ROM's can sometimes be altered to make them impossible just like a ROM I downloaded in 2013 of Mike Tysons Punchout. I guess someone thought it was funny to have 1 shot kockouts on this really fat guy that if you get punched once it won't let you win at all.

I don't like how the PS4 is not backwards compatible and I just find no use for one. If I didn't already have an Xbox360 I probally would get an Xbox One. Xbox 360 slim's have cheap and sturdy hard drives in other news

The only Game Crazy store I'd been to was in 2007-2009 a complete rip off all games were for modern mostly systems (back then). and My new Game Boy Advance SP was $250.00 in year 2007 plus tax. and they only had crappy gameboy advance games for $15.00 and up used.

In fact if you were to find any (used) for any console or handheld. in their store at all it was always $15.00 and up and that was everything they sold at the Game Crazy location

The location was in Highland Park Michigan a run down community at the time with violence and robberies and crumbling building. then came Game Headz in which was a discount retro store for things usually $1.00 to $5.00 used. i was few  more blocks down highland park location in which I was living at the time

Game Headz even had retro gaming competition on a tv for free, at Game Headz in highland park used to let you play a few consoles with your buddies in the store it self. but they went out of business faster than Game Crazy at a different address on the same exact street in Highland park Michigan.

Both stores were on Detroit and Highland Park's main street called Woodward Ave

Game Headz entire franchise I think is out of business at least in Michigan

Classic Video Games / Re: Who is your go to character in Street Fighter?
« on: December 21, 2017, 03:15:37 am »
I suck at fighting games, so I don't play them, really. But my parents own a laundromat, and for a short, lovely span, we had a few arcade cabinets that were on lease. I was the scrub casual with this fine fellow

I suck at fighting games too even though i have favorite fighting games & i have favorite fighting game series even though i suck at fighting games at the moment  & i admit that some moves & some combos are complicated to do & to pull off

Me three. but I have to mention that a ton of fighting games have clunky and unresponsive controls like Mortal Kombat 2 for example. I like fighting games with quick response time in it's control dept. I used to play Street Fighter 2 a lot for Super Nintendo. Blanka (green ogre)   is the most easy to play with on street fighter 2.

My favorite fighting game would be any that the controller don't lag or not respond to me  pressing the button. I hate how Mortal Kombat 2 when I tap the punch button a bunch of time it don't punch and it seems the computer always have the right away when it comes to faster response  time.

Mortal Kombat 4 is the first game in the MK series with quick and responsive controls.

General / Gran Turismo Series Thread
« on: December 20, 2017, 09:16:19 pm »
for those who know skip this first lines

Gran Turismo is a driving simulator SONY series of video games that is may be an exclusive to PlayStation consoles ever since the PlayStation 1 it is a game that includes in game buyable cars from real life manufacturers as well as real auto parts from real manufacturers from around the world.

I am not going to name all the manufactures and cars because their is over 700 cars to buy and upgrade in Gran Turismo 4 for the PlayStation 2 alone. and vary few cars to choose from in Gran Turismo 3 A spec.

I prefer gran turismo 2 at the moment wikipedia says their is close to 650 cars. But the back artwork only says over 500.

this is a thread for any Gran Turismo fans to share their experience with this series.

I used to like the (Toyota SUPRA 2.5GT Twin Turbo R '90)

I'm now what "accessories" mean? Like a plug-and-play consoles?

I can imagine so given their previous products, But I hope that they'll include a real laser since the Dreamcast lasers are vary hard to replace and also the Sega Saturn lasers too

General / Injustice The Gods Among Us UE: Vary Good Mortal Kombat Clone PS3
« on: December 19, 2017, 06:04:41 pm »
I just played a new fighting game today with a friend called

(Injustice The Gods Among Us: Ultimate Edition) the game I played was for the PlayStation 3. So far I found it the best mortal kombat clone I ever played. Although I didn't get too far into the story mode so far. and instead mostly played 2 player vs mode. It seems well made, and the story mode was vary interesting from what I saw. and the controls and combos are easy to preform, while the control faced no lag, unlike in earlier Mortal Combat games and clones of the early an late 90's. this game also don't require an update

The characters in the game are from comics like Superman. and Batman. Cat women Joker Green Lantern. and even Scorpion, from the mortal kombat universe is there and so on. What I think is the marvel universe? all characters have their own special moves that are easy to pull off even if you are not good at fighting games :)

downside is, I think you have to choose an opponent to fight. as if I didn't see a single player  arcade mode for this game :( But I think it needs one badly. spot on controller reaction  and the easy combos does allow for button mashing + moves are displayed in the pause menu.  the game is also not as violent nature as most mortal kombat games. Although there is blood. Just no fatalities, from what I saw in the game in  my 3 hours of playing it with a friend.

Hardware and Tech / Re: Need help with a Japanese PC Engine in the UK
« on: December 17, 2017, 04:16:46 am »
This Is all I can think of, sorry  :(

(for the consoles)Try looking at the each of the power cords, if it is an AC adapter It should tell you what company has made the adapter right on the AC power cord itself.

and the voltage for example 4.5 volts you always should be matching the console cord to the correct voltage it needs. (listed on the AC cord itself) but usually for consoles at least if the AC cord says SEGA on it you could always try plugging it into a SEGA device or if it is a retro bit cord the AC cord should say what the cord belongs to right on the end of the AC cord

this is a vary dangerous situation not knowing what cord goes with what but I can tell you to use
www.google.com and look up Japanese PC engine Power cord or other console names cord if you still have issues. look at the result and try to match the cord with the console cord itself.

Usually if the cord says Nintendo on it and it fits in a Famicom/NES for example it usually is the correct cord to use

I am not a modern gamer, for this primary reason. Can anyone explain to me why video game companies no longer release physical copies on most discs in which most are blurays and the disc is completely capable of holding the entire game?  the logic in this is vary bad in my opinion.

I mean you buy the freaking Bluray game to play it and then it requires an internet only connction to install and play the game.

It this another attempt (to prevent piracy) or (to stop being able to share the game with your friends) or both? >:(

(not considering patches)

at this rate maybe if the world does not change we will be charged more money for patches >:(
