General / Who will you main in Smash Ultimate?
« on: December 05, 2018, 11:47:58 am »
I'm planning on maining Ganon since he's my primary guy and I've mained him since Melee. I also plan to main Simon/Richter because I'm a huge Castlevania fan. I'd also like to play Cloud as I never had a Wii U for Sm4sh and wanted to play Cloud since I beat FF7.

Who do you plan to main?

General / Smash Direct? (SPOILERS)
« on: November 01, 2018, 01:06:39 pm »
You've been warned.

Well shit everybody got Thanos'd and deleted by some winged thing in the sky and only kirby is left... crazy shit.

The direct was good though. Ken, Incineroar, and the Piranha plant made it in. I'm glad there's no more Fire Emblem characters getting added because there's so many already (and so many sword fighters). I'm not too bothered about people being trophies like the Black Knight and Isaac. DLC was confirmed to happen so that's pretty cool. All in all i'm so hyped for this game and cannot wait for it. Definitely pre-ordering it soon.

Any other thoughts on the direct and Smash Ultimate in general?

General / Favorite Castlevania game?
« on: October 30, 2018, 12:06:30 pm »
Overall I would say Symphony of the Night because of the RPG elements along the Metroidvania formula combined with playing as someone else other than a Belmont.

Also cheesy voice acting.

Classic Video Games / Which Belmont do you like best?
« on: August 01, 2018, 02:57:17 pm »
So I saw the different versions of a character post, but which iteration of the famous vampire slayer do you like the best?

Leon Belmont

The Belmont of 1094 who started it all and the first wielder of the holy whip in it's complete form!

Trevor C. Belmont

Next whip wielding badass is Trevor C. Belmont from Dracula's Curse in 1476 as well as the first Belmont to defeat Dracula!

Christopher Belmont

Simon's great grandfather, also Soleiyu's father.

Simon Belmont

The most iconic one of them all, famous for his appearance in 1986 on the Nintendo Entertainment System!

Juste Belmont

Juste Belmont, the one who saved Maxim Kischine.

Richter Belmont

Richter Belmont, the one famous for his numerous special moves as well as defeating Dracula and then getting possessed by Shaft! No, not that shaft.

Julius Belmont

Julius Belmont, the one famous for helping defeat Dracula for good in the Demon Castle War of 1999. Is said to be the most powerful vampire hunter.

Probably my favorite would be Julius based on character design and the fact that a Belmont exists in 2036 (since that's when Dawn of Sorrow takes place)

Off Topic / Anybody else use spotify?
« on: July 17, 2018, 10:33:26 pm »
I just got it and it's really cool. I use it on pc and dictate to Cortana what songs I'd like her to play.

Once I get an Invoke w/ Cortana (which uses spotify also) then it will be a blast dictating to her!

General / Most BS thing in video games
« on: July 07, 2018, 03:28:10 pm »
What is the most bull-you-know-what thing in video games you’ve had to deal with? Is it an enemy that is completely unfair, or a game mechanic, knockback etc. etc. you catch my drift. Heck it could be anything, an annoying character or just one particular thing that was just silly.

For me most of the time it’s a luck stat in video games. Castlevania: Harmony of Despair is notorious for the amount of grinding needed to get the good gear.

General / The most wanted for your collection
« on: July 05, 2018, 01:53:10 am »
Which games would you absolutely love to have for your collection that you don't already?

For me that would be Sm4sh on the Wii u, all the trauma center games, and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure on the PS1. Giogio's bizarre adventure on the ps2 would also be nice.

General / Hardest game you ever played
« on: June 20, 2018, 04:02:19 pm »
What is the absolute hardest game you have ever played? What I mean is not unintentionally hard like awkward camera angles, but actual difficulty.

For me, I would have to say either Ghosts n' Goblins (Super Ghouls n' Ghosts was hard too), or Trauma Center: Second Opinion. With the latter the game is difficult, but what really takes the cake are bonus operations after the main plot. The operations themselves are already plenty difficult (harder than anything else in the game to that point) but getting the highest rank possible is an absolute undertaking and requires insane levels of skill.

Overall though the game is no walk in the park.

General / Has gaming gotten better on worse in your opinion?
« on: June 12, 2018, 12:38:28 am »
What are your thoughts?

The way I see it, companies get to charge us online play, DLC for those willing to purchase, and on top of that in game purchases to keep playing!

Back in the old days, oh I don't know let's take Super Mario World. You buy a SNES and you buy SMW. You get your great game for whatever you paid and those are the only purchases required to play it! No online, no in app bogus nonsense, and no DLC! It's a fantastic game that was given to you for not only a fair price (I assume, that's another thing, $60 for console games?!) but on top of all of that it;s a cartridge! It wont scratch like a CD!

The way I see it gaming has become a mess of quality graphics over decent gameplay, companies milking players like a cow for cash, and in general lacking the charm a game should have like retro ones do!

That being said I'm aware this only applies to some games like battlefront 2 and whatnot and games like Bloodstained and Nier and Doom etc. etc. exist, but come on. Are we really paying for this?

Anybody else like some games that are just, bad? Personally I love Sonic and the Secret Rings and I know it's terrible but it's so much fun.
