My tastes in music are kind of all over the place. I mostly prefer 80's music (metal, rock, new wave, pop, synth wave), but also enjoy listening to classic rock (60's & 70's), most music from the early 90's, & other songs beyond the early 90's.

I also have developed a fondness for techno music. When I decide to try working out or doing something physical, techno music makes me feel more like machine rather than a man, which helps me offset fatigue. At least that's the way I'd like it to work.

I don't have a "top 10 list", but I'll list some of my favorite artists / bands in no particular order:

1. Jimmy Hendrix
2. Van Halen (this includes both David Lee Roth & Sammy Hagar as lead singers & individually)
3. Foreigner
4. Journey
5. Dokken
6. Winger
7. Rom Di Prisco (He is king when it comes to techno music)
8. Rainbow (mostly with Joe Lynn Turner as lead singer)
9. Dio
10. Billy Joel
11. Bon Jovi
12. Twisted Sister
13. Alice Cooper
14. Billy Idol
15. The Pointer Sisters
16. Gloria Estefan
17. Jon Secada
18. Michael Bolton
19. Paula Abdul
20. Ronnie Milsap
21. New Edition (this includes Bobby Brown early after he went solo, Bel Biv Devoe, Johnny Gill, & Ralph Tresvant)
22. Weird Al Yankovic
23. Whitney Houston
24. Depeche Mode
25. Hall & Oates

There are others, but I'll need to stop it here considering I've gone well beyond 10.

General / Re: Ever bought a game for a system you didn't own?
« on: March 18, 2022, 06:27:08 pm »
Yes.

At the time, I was living in a children's home & they had a NES system with only two games (Castlevania II: Simon's Quest & R.C. Pro-Am). I ended up buying Double Dragon, Wrath of the Black Manta, Target: Renegade, & Ghosts 'N Goblins. After I moved away from the home, I had my 4 NES title, but no system to play them on.

That is until my brother & I went half way on buying a NES system with no game & two controllers.

Video Game Database Discussion / Mobile Gaming Accessories
« on: March 08, 2022, 05:03:42 pm »
Hi,

I wanted to ask is there a sections for cell phone gaming accessories? I recently purchased a Gamesir X2 Type-C (2021) Mobile Gaming Controller. It is designed to hold your phone & allow easier control of games on your cell phone.

Is there a section dedicated to these type of accessories?

The next games I want are either new or upcoming.

I hope to get Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires soon. Then  I will focus on getting WWE 2K22 when it releases on March 11, 2022.

Classic Video Games / Re: Replacement Boxes
« on: February 15, 2022, 03:27:22 pm »
I don't have a problem with replacement cases (with the artwork). For about a couple of years, when I found out that Gamestop was throwing out various items, I started fishing things that were in descent condition of the dumpster close to where I live & began selling the replacement cases with the coverart for a reasonable price on Ebay. I was able to score an Xbox One & sell it for parts for $50.00. (I don't know if it worked or not). After a while, I ended up getting way more junk than I could sell & ultimately gave that up. Later on, the Gamestop store got a different style of dumpster that made it difficult for me to rummage though.

Classic Video Games / Re: I got a N64! Woot!

Not bad.

I've been noticing that collecting for the N64 is hot right now.

I can't say that I'm nostalgic over the N64 since it came out during the Playstation 1 era. However, there are games that I have been wanting to play for that system. I'm probably the most nostalgic over the NES, SNES, Game Boy, & Genesis. Playstation 2 was an era I really liked too.

The MSRP tends to change from time to time. I know that on several of the North American PS2 titles, there is an estimated value according to pricecharting.com. It tracks what games sold for & what the approximate value was for various years.

Site Feedback / Re: Problem with adding new games

Thank you.

I normally try to crop & edit the size of the pictures I submit. I guess I got in too big of a hurry when posting. That seemed to do the trick. Thanks again.

Site Feedback / Problem with adding new games
« on: November 15, 2021, 01:04:12 pm »
Hi,

I was attempting to add a new game to the Playstation (NA) database. When I finished & hit submit, my computer sat there for several minutes. I hit submit once again & the same thing happened. I went back to reenter the data once more from scratch & got the same result.

When I came back to the home page I noticed that had listed three blank new entries. I even tried to edit one of them, but all it did was take me back to the blank entry. Those blank entries can be found here:

General / Re: What ever happened to cheat codes?
« on: November 14, 2021, 12:04:07 pm »
There are cheat codes & then there are game hacks. Cheat codes were cool in that it gave you an advantage that you couldn't normally.

With game hacking, yes, you can do the infinite health, lives, etc. but you can do so much more. I like being able to find things hidden in the game that you couldn't find through normal playing or through a simple cheat code.

For example:
- Did you know that in the SNES game Natsume Championship Wrestling that there are leftover characters that you can play as from the Japanese version of the game? Using a player modifier code for the Pro Action Replay you can access Giant Baba, The Patriot, Mitsuharu Misawa, & Tsuyoshi Kikuchi. Through normal playing you can't play as them, nor can you unlock them as the localized, North American version used fictitious wrestlers.

- Did you know that in Fight Night Round 2 that the Nintendo Gamecube version contained an unlockable character Little Mac (from the Punch-Out series)? System exclusive unlockables are nothing new. However, when the PS2 version was produced, Little Mac was never removed from the final cut. You can't unlock him, but using a Code Breaker & a player modifier code, you can play as him. Although, he doesn't look like Little Mac from the Mike Tyson's Punch-Out. He bears more a of a resemblance to the main character from Super Punch-Out.

- Did you know that in the PS1 version Command & Conquer: Red Alert Retaliation you can produce an army of civilians & Albert Einsteins? You can even produce what is call a "Phase Transport" which is similar to the APC, but is undetectable to enemies (until it attacks), plus it can hold one person. Using the Gameshark made that possible.

One of the other things I liked especially with the PS1 & PS2 era of game hacking was being able to use "Joker Codes". For those not familiar with the term, they are used to turn a particular effect on or off with the press of a button (or combination of buttons). Its especially useful if a certain code causes the game to crash at certain points. I made the best use of Joker Codes when I played the WWF / WWE Smackdown games for the PS2. I liked using them along with rule modifier codes. These would let you create various match types that weren't possible through normally selecting it. Such as a submission only triple threat match.

I wish Game Genie, Pro Action Replay, Codebreaker, & Gameshark were still physically produced for the current generation systems.

Off Topic / Re: Do You Listen To Random Music Playlists?
« on: November 09, 2021, 07:47:44 pm »
I will always listen to MP3s stored on my phone generally when I'm driving. I will have the tracks set to random so I don't know what song is coming next. However, I will divide my playlists up in the following manner:
1. Music (a combination of all music regardless of the genre)
2. Metal / Rock
3. 80's (This includes various genres that were released from 1980 to 1989)
4. Techno / Video Game Music / Soundtracks (This comprises of music from video games & movies & even includes a whole slew of techno tracks)

Modern Video Games / Re: What are your top 10 fav PS4 titles?
« on: October 07, 2021, 11:24:43 am »
I don't know if I could limit it to just ten. Being that I didn't get a PS4 until the end of 2019, I'm kind of late to the party. Some of my favorites are those that are easy to pick up & play. I also tend to like compilation titles.

Here are some of my favorites (no particular order):
1. Fallout 4
2. Fire Pro Wrestling World
3. Friday the 13th: The Game
4. Detroit: Become Human
5. Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires
6. Wreckfest
7. Soul Calibur VI
8. Tekken 7
9. Mortal Kombat 11
10. Streets of Rage 4

A Few Others:
- Void Gore
- Two-Point Hospital
- Planet Coaster
- Skyhill
- Retromania Wrestling
- Punch Club
- Car Mechanic Simulator
- House Flipper
- Kung Fury: Street Rage
- Horizon Chase: Turbo
- Hot Shot Racing

Some of my favorite compilations / remastered games (from older systems) are:
1. Dead Rising / Dead Rising 2 / Dead Rising 2: Off the Record
2. Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection
3. Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
4. Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 & 2
5. L.A. Noire
6. Mega Man & Mega Man X Legacy Collections 1 & 2
7. The Last of Us
8. Katamari Damacy: Reroll
9. Dead Island: Definitive Collection
10. Red Faction: Guerilla Re-Mars-tered

Games that will need to take a number & get in line (AKA games that I will one of these days get around to playing):
1. Red Dead Redemption 2
2. Predator: Hunting Grounds
3. All of the Samurai Warriors games & Warriors Orochi games
4. Resident Evil titles (especially Biohazard)
5. Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions
6. Firewatch
7. Horizon: Zero Dawn
8. No Man's Sky
9. Subnautica
10. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
