I was always more partial to Paula Abdul. She was quite the hottie back then & could easily dance circles around Britney Spears of Christina Aguilera. I especially liked seeing her in the Diet Coke commercials during the early 90's.

I used to think I was pretty good at Street Fighter 2, Street Fighter 2: CE, & Street Fighter 2 TE until I started playing against other players.

I tend to do okay playing Skyrim. I rarely ever get killed...of course that might be because I've made use of the in-game exploits such as putting enchantments on my weapons & armor that give me an insane percentage boost.  ;D
Like gloves that allow me to carry 1,210,547% more weight, or a sword that does 2,041,759% in fire damage, or body armor that gives me 3,597,866% more HP. It makes fighting the Ebony Warrior much easier. I used to get slaughtered every time. Once a dragon even got involved & I thought I'll just let the dragon kill him...NOPE! Didn't happen. He killed the dragon & then killed me afterwards.

Double Dragon would have to be my favorite though.

Whether you add a basketball game to your collection for PC is entirely up to you. While I'm not as much a sports game enthusiast, I can say that I've had fun with mostly:

Hockey games - Some of my favorites include: Monster League Hockey, NHL '96, NHL Faceoff '97, NHL 98, NHL 2002, NHL '07, & NHL '13.

Baseball games - Some of my favorites included: Base Wars, RBI '93, RBI '94, Triple Play '98, & Triple Play 2001 (PS1)

Basket Ball games - Some of my favorites included: Arch Rivals, NBA Jam TE, & NBA Shootout '97

Football games - Some of those included: Tecmo Bowl & Madden NFL 2004

The only Golf game I could get into was: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005. As much as I hated watching golf on TV, one thing I loved about playing this game was that it was easy to pick up & play. You could also create a golfer, customize (to some degree) golf swing animations, & I even found the commentary enjoyable. When the commentator was sure that your ball was going to land on the green & it ends up going into the rough, the color commentator would call him out on the bad call.

...

But my favorite of sport games (if you consider it sports) of all are ---> Wrestling games

I have a long list of favorites but here's a sampling:

WWF Superstars
WWF Wrestlefest
Wrestle War
Pro Wrestling (NES)
Tecmo World Wrestling
WWF Royal Rumble
WWF Raw
WWF Smackdown 2: Know Your Role
WWE Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth
WWE Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain
WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2006
WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2007
WWE '12
WWE 2K14

My goals are the same as last years,

1: Play More Games and when I mean play what I have not yet played
2: Obtain more games
3: beat more games

that's pretty much it,

Well said.

I can't say that I have any "resolutions" per se regarding me collecting games, consoles, or accessories.

I guess maybe my goal is to grow my collection of games even further. I won't commit to any particular system as committing to buy certain games for certain systems takes a good bit of money. I would love to grow my collection of PS2 games from Europe & Japan further, but for about the last year have been pre-occupied with PS4 & PSN collecting (I have my wife to thank for that).

If I get my hands any new PS2 acquisitions it would have to be some of the rarer, harder to find titles like:

1. Alien Vs. Predator: Extinction (NTSC-U/C)
2. Blood Will Tell
3. Bloody Roar 4
4. Final Fight: Streetwise
5. God Hand
6. Haunting Ground
7. Kuon
8. Mr. Mosquito
9. Obsucure
10. Raiden III

Modern Video Games / Re: What are your top 5 Most Anticipated 2021 games?
« on: December 17, 2020, 01:52:56 pm »
I don't really have many games that I heavily anticipate, especially for the newer consoles. I won't get a PS5 or the newer Xbox system till a few years down the road.

As for titles coming out soon, I mostly look forward to wrestling games. So there is a sequel to the arcade game WWF Wrestlefest from 1991 in the works & its scheduled to be released in late February. I have every intention of buying that game. It is called Retro Mania Wrestling

While I know that WWE 2K20 was a total & utter failure with all of the (sometimes) hilarious bugs that were found, I'm remaining hopeful that the installment for next year (WWE 2K22) will be better.  They typically release WWE games in mid to late October. I hope the year that they took off from creating a 2K21, will help them get things together for 2K22. I hope that the next installment will have a General Manager (or GM) mode. I liked playing the GM Modes in Smackdown Vs. Raw 2006 & 2007. In addition to their Showcase mode, I wish that they would include a Season Mode, & bring back the Create-A-Story Mode. The best game in the 2K franchise was WWE 2K14. Here's to looking forward to WWE 2K22.

Classic Video Games / Re: Boxes for loose games/replacement boxes/cases
« on: December 15, 2020, 11:52:38 am »
I'm a big stickler when it comes to having the actual case for my disc games. Cartridge games, not so much. If I'm in a Gamestop store & see a game in the used section, with & without a case, I will buy the one with the case every time. The way I see it, since there is no discount for buying a game without the case, I believe when buying the one with the case, you are getting more for your money.

I also have to be honest, I have resorted on occasion to raiding Gamestop's dumpster & have found some interesting items, Game cases mostly. I've even sold them on Ebay for a small profit. The problem is, I started finding other stuff, which I thought I would be able to sell, but haven't. One of these days, I'm going to have to go through the spare bedroom & toss out all that stuff that I thought would sell. ...Anyways, I'm getting off topic.

When it comes to my PS1 games & PS2 games, I keep the games stored in a CD book. The PS1 games are kept separate from my PS2's.

Most of my PS2 titles have the original cases with the game. I use the cases as a display. I generally will try to get my favorite & rarer titles to stand out. I keep all my PS2 games together, alphabetized, & don't split them up based on region (US, Japan, & Europe). Since I have amassed a massive PS2 game collection across all three regions, it almost becomes a chore, when I insert newly received games into my CD books (since they are alphabetical). That collection is spread across 4 massive CD books.

My physical PS4 games on the other hand aren't stored in a CD book. I keep them stored in the original case. Out of my current 385 PS4 game collection, I only have one game that doesn't have the original case & that it Injustice 2: Legendary Edition. I bought the game off of Gamestop.com (I'll never do that again) & they sent me the game without the original case. Those cases are kept in these bags that are designed to hold Blu-Ray cases. I currently have 8 of them filled up. Each bag holds about 46 cases. Once my stack of loose PS4 cases with games gets too big, it'll be time to fill up another bag.

I never cared for the trinkets or "collectables" that they stock in their stores.

The only way I will order one of their games is if its new. I've had VERY BAD experiences ordering used games from Gamestop. Shortly after getting my PS4 (just last Christmas), I bought several used games, about 3 or 4 different orders within a short period of time. Each shipment of used games had top side scratches, which make the games completely unplayable. The new items were of course new. When you order a used game, you don't know if you are getting the game with the proper case / cover art & instruction manual.

I haven't gone into one of since that mask mandate has been in effect.

Lately, the only time I've been ordering anything from Gamestop.com is when I want to buy another WWE Network subscription card. If they screw that up, I'll stop ordering that from them too.

Classic Video Games / Re: Letting go of the CRT
« on: December 03, 2020, 03:00:49 pm »
There was a large 36 inch CRT that I had for several years. I ended up having to get rid of it because the tint started getting too green. Then the picture started getting too dark. After I still had my 13 inch CRT, but even it ended up going out. Since I didn't have the money to pay a TV repair guy to fix either of them, I had no choice but to get rid of them & get the more modern, updated ones.

While I don't have a problem with playing my games on a modern TV, I just don't like that TV signals are done digitally. When a TV signal started to go out when it was analog, you would get a snowy picture, but could still watch the programming. With digital, the images freeze or sometime the sound goes out completely. That makes it very hard or impossible to watch. I hate digital TV signals.

Off Topic / Re: Would you chase a shoplifter?
« on: November 10, 2020, 10:22:06 pm »
Being that I used to be a full time mall security officer (during my 20's), I've witnessed many shoplifter chases & have been involved in a few. Most of the time, I would sit back & observe (that's what we were supposed to do).

One of the major stores most people would steal Tommy Hilfiger clothes from was Parisian (which was owned by Sak's Fifth Avenue at the time). I was patrolling in the security vehicle & loss prevention radioed us, stating that a shoplifter was running out of the store & went across the road, technically off of mall property. I got onto the road, sped up a little got along side him, while we were on a small bridge. There was a road immediately after the bridge on the right. I got just ahead of him & turned onto that road & timed it perfectly. The shoplifter was looking behind him, slammed into the side of the security vehicle I was driving, started reeling backwards, & that gave the loss prevention guy enough time to catch up & tackle him. It took me, another officer, the loss prevention officer, & a bystander to help subdue him. Once he was handcuffed, another loss prevention guy pulled up in his pickup truck. I helped him into that back of the pickup, & drove back to Parisian. By that time one of the Mobile Police officers got there & noticed that the shoplifter was very tuckered out. The officer asked if I ran him over. I said "No. He ran into me."

Looking back on that, if my timing had been off, I could have severely injured or killed him. I'm just glad that no one got hurt.

In this day & age, of remakes, reboots, & re-releases I got to thinking what physical releases I would be willing to pay my hard earned money for. I'm a sucker for a nostalgia trip. I've bought re-released games & compilations like Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 & 2, Q-Bert Rebooted, Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection.

Since Bethesda came out with a re-release of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim & Dishonored, I would love to get a re-released version of Fallout 3 & Fallout: New Vegas.

I like how the gameplay mechanics of Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, & Fallout 4 are similar to Skyrim. I like being able to switch between First Person & Third Person modes. I like being able to gather weapons, armor, junk, & health items from enemies or various stashes. The Fallout & Elder Scroll games can keep me occupied for hours on end.

What your thoughts?

I just got the PS Now subscription, which has many of the PS3 titles playable on the PS4. While there are games that can be downloaded to your PS4, sadly, there are none from the PS3 (like Double Dragon Neon), that can be downloaded. Those can only be played via streaming.  :(

I'm late to the current console gaming market. I've only had a PS4 since Christmas of 2019. I went from having a PS2 to an Xbox 360 & then reverted back to the PS2. I was so bound & determined to not buy a PS4 or Xbox One, but my wife got it for me unexpectedly. I resisted hooking it up & playing for a solid three days, but then gave in.
