Someone shit on the pathway outside of our work. I open the office in the morning, so guess how I started my morning?  >:(

And we have no hose. I was out there with buckets of hot water and a toilet brush. It was an unholy amount of diarrhea.

Great start to the week!

Ewwww, I'm sorry you had to deal with that...disgusting. Hope you get hazard pay, lol

1st thing I heard today was one person call another a horses ass. The other person responded "Well, I am what I eat"

Not as gross as your story but I didn't start my day off on the right foot either....

Was he talking to his wife? LOL

No, that would have been hilarious though.

Classic Video Games / Re: Why are the NES era Consoles 3rd Gen and not 4th?
« on: November 21, 2022, 09:24:30 pm »
Historically, a new generation begins once a major upgrade in graphical quality has been reached.

With that said, Atari 2600 and Atari 5200 are formally considered to be a part of the second generation. The Atari 7800 made the shift to third generation.

It is similar to the Wii U and Switch, which are both a part of the eighth generation.

I'll never understand why the Wii U is considered 8th gen, and not 7th. All the games on it are 7th gen games (Looking at that are cross platform). Hell even the sports games end with 7th gen, no 8th gen sports games made it to the wii-u. I compare the wii to 6th gen consoles myself, though I'd rather the wii and wii-u be bunched together in the same gen then putting the wii in 8th. My knowledge of their consoles between the SNES and the Wii is non existent so I'm sure it's something there. Just my opinion, 'm far from an expert....just feel the wii-u is a 360/ps3 comparable console.

3rd person. I don't mind 1st person but if given the choice I'll always choose 3rd.

Beast - Exactly what it says on the tin.

The Wicker Man (2006) - After about 5 minutes I thought that maybe it wouldn't be as bad as I was expecting. After another 10 I thought it might actually be worse. It takes another full hour before it becomes the wackadoo movie that everyone thinks of it as. Takes way too long to get there, and it's not worth it at all. Atrocious script, filled with actors that have no idea what movie they are in, and worst of all, just boring.

It's been a long time since I've seen the original Wicker Man, but that sounds pretty much the same, lol. I'll def skip the remake.

I watched "Doom" last night for the 1st time since probably 2006 or so. I didn't really remember much outside of the 1st person shooter sequence, so i was pleasantly surprised that I found the whole movie enjoyable.

Think I'm gonna just end up bringing back out my Xbox 360 and hooking it up so I can just play Guitar Hero or Rock Band again.  I usually get in the mood to do this every year because there's nothing that's been as good as that since then lol

Doooooo it. Love these games.

The OG- Haunter House for the Atari 2600.

And an odd suggestion...Call of Duty cold war.

The Zombie game modes (I really only play the open world one) has special Halloween themes all month. Yeah, and all the zombies have pumpkins stuck on their heads. Its fun as all heck.

Off Topic / Re: So, that Mario Movie trailer...

Chris Pratt as Mario borderline offends the senses not gonna lie. The guy is a C list actor at best and has borderline ruined 3 cashgrab franchises and is aiming for 4. I feel it makes no sense from any angle and was only done so the names will fill the seats. Cast stacking for the sake of it.

If Chris Pratt is a C-List actor (at best), how would including him be cast stacking, or how will it fill seats? I thought that's what A-list Actors do. If it were cast stacking, it wouldn't be for the sake of it, it would be to fill the aforementioned seats. People who make movies like this do it for one reason. It's not for the fans, it's for money.

I have no problem with people ruining cashgrab franchises...because they are simply cashgrabs. Sounds good to have less of them.

XB1 didn't become Backwards Compatible until 2017, so that wouldn't be the reason for those dates. It didn't even come out until the end of 2013.

According to this article, it became available November 12, 2015.

OK, still not 2012/2013.

I was mistaken. 360 games went BC in 2015, OG Xbox games were 2017.

Too many to count. I'm honestly extremely grateful that most of my collection was purchased pre-2020, some of the stuff I own would be impossible for me to purchase now.

I'm right there with you on being thankful I got into collecting when I did. I'd even go as far as to say I'm glad I had the bulk of what I wanted pre-2015 or so when this hobby exploded. Little did we know how bad it would really become in recent years, even back then. But I started out when few other people were collecting and those are the years I look back on most fondly and remember enjoying doing this the most. Outside a few instances here and there, collecting has been pretty shitty and unfun for the past 5 or 6 years, especially the last 2 or 3. That's why I've started to focus way more on playing games rather than buying them.
Yeah, prices were still somewhat outrageous in the late 2010s, but nowhere near the level they are now. I got 85% of what I have now pre-2019 I'd say. I bought my first home in 2020 and since then, the entertainment budget is much slimmer and I try to spend less than 150 dollars a month on games / movies (though I sometimes deviate). I have bought a ton of blu-rays though, dirt cheap at places like 2nd & Charles.

I finished my Xbox 360 collection before the pandemic hit and prices shot up (luckily) seeing some prices now is like...whoa. I'm still looking for several PS3 games, that, if I don't get....no biggie...but a few on my psudo- want list are beyond what I would pay right now.

Congrats on your 1st home. I bought a new home 16 months ago and the house payments will be eating up my finances for the next 3 years. So, I totally feel ya there!
