Any of the Compile Heart games would have benefited from a good strategy guide. DJ would have been perfect for them.

Isn't Borders completely out of business? Barnes and Noble seems to be still going strong.

I have to mention one thing: I have had the displeasure of reading some really, -REALLY- crappy strategy guides. I'd love to see what everyone else has had the displeasure of reading, too.

Final Fantasy IX: This was the worst guide I have ever seen. They offered no help whatsoever for any of the mini-games. Instead, they directed you to some Internet site.

Ys: The Ark of Napishtim: I hate guides that try to use humor. This one did that and it wasn't pleasant.

Wild ARMs 2: This one also used humor, but it was even worse. It felt like I was reading something from a rejected Working Designs script.

Tales of Symphonia: Typos, mistranslations, spoilers and poor lay out made this a joke of a guide. If not for the maps of Sylvyarant and Tethealla, it would have been fire kindling.

What about y'all? What are some of the worst strategy guides you used?

@dark: I submitted my review yesterday! It should be posted soon. I think I'm a little over half-way in Hearts now. The story took a surprisingly bleak turn unexpectedly. Also, the romance developing between Kor and Kohaku is adorable. I love it when characters in RPGs actually express their feelings of love for one another.

I like guides from the PS1/PS2 era. But, other than that, I just stick with online resources for the most part. When I got the game, I bought the Tales of Xillia 2 strategy guide. Honestly, it was not money well spent. I could have figured most of the stuff out on my own through trial and error. It was a nice looking guide, though. I liked that it came with some bonus stuff.

Want to know something fabulous? The new Hatsune Miku game that I got yesterday came with an instruction manual. An INSTRUCTION. MANUAL. I haven't seen a Vita game have one of those yet! I can already tell that I'm going to love this game. I haven't tried it yet since I'm still knee deep in Hearts and don't plan on stopping for anything. XD

I decided to splurge a bit. I finally -FINALLY- purchased a copy of the CE version of Tales of Symphonia. I'm thinking those little figures will be perfect on my desk. ^^

Not enough. I demand Princess Kaguya with GIF animation. The GIF could be called "Kaguya Jiggle."

Welcome, Sworddude! Others will tell you that I'm fabulous and glamorous. They're partially right. I'm also modest.

Cool avatar. Marth has always been my go-to character in Smash.

Hmm...if you were able to play Qoga with one hand, I think you would be able to handle Baten Kaitos with one hand. Maybe check out a few videos of battle footage to see what you think. As you get further in the game and your deck gets bigger, it might be more challenging.

Hmm. I don't recall any difficulty spikes. I also don't remember any power leveling. Do you recall the dungeon?

Nothing as extreme as dust particles, but the ending scenes in Baten Kaitos were really emotional. Such a damn good game.

Ah.

So you *did* eventually make your way through both games?

iirc - the last I remember hearing, was that you'd gotten about 1/2 way into the game, lost all of your save data, and put it down for awhile  :-\

My bad. I should have clarified. I made it through the first game and have yet to try the second. I have it, just haven't tried it yet. A review is up for Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean. That game was fantastic. I cannot recommend it enough to RPG players. It's a bit long...50 to 60 hours of normal play time. But, so worth it.

That couldn't be the game. You probably just have dust allergies. ^^

kimi, I have been here for quite some time and you still haven't dropped in to say hello! I am hurt!

Hope you've been well! RPG:EE isn't the same sans you.

Thanks for the information everyoneargyle! I'm going to try doing that in the future. I always wanted to see all of the gear that could used to destroy the game aside from the Chrysagrim (sp).
