Wish list can be basically anything you would be happy to receive as a gift

YAY!!

(within reason).

You tease!!

I'm still debating about whether or not I'm in for this. Just based on previous SS experiences, I ended up with some really -REALLY- crappy gifts. I'll be the first to admit that I'm a bit spoiled, but they were just awful. I'll have a final answer later.

I think everyone got something they wanted.  I didn't see any duds.  Check out last year's thread.  We all showed stuff off.

How did...how did some of those gifts not exceed the 30 dollar limit? If there's any illegal activity involved in this SS-ing then I want no part of it!

So, we need to spend at least 30 dollars on the person? Or can it be less/more depending on the gift?

A Secret Santa is a nifty idea if done properly. In my experience, they were always lame because everyone ended up with some stupid white elephant gift. However, if everyone here has a good idea than I'm all for it.

Koudelka is gone?! Wh-why?!

That D&D game is one of the best couch-op titles I ever played. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoyed games like X-Men, Double Dragon, Bad Dudes, etc.

I was still waking up when I wrote that! Or...yes...musical chords actually do connect all of my consoles because...yeah I got nothing. We'll just stick with me still waking up.

Don't feel bad, I'm *still* waking up! :o Time change FTL.  :'(

Yeah, the topic du jour at work has been the time changing. Falling back is an adjustment, but I think springing forward is worse because we lose an hour sleep.

So...size *does* matter!  :o

I knew it!   :P

Size queen! It's all about the motion of the ocean. Or so I've been told. ^_~

Good god, the amount of football talk in this topic is @_@

I was going to mention this. I believe there is a sports topic somewhere for people who actually like that crap. In the general thread however its not meant for play by play action.

<3 This made my morning.

So, it's time for a small update of sorts. First, we took a bookshelf and converted it into a gorgeous looking entertainment center that houses all of my consoles and still has room for new ones that I'll eventually get. It looks stunning, but the great part is that we kind of gutted the back wall, put in grommets behind the shelf, and now all of the chords are hidden. We then swapped upstairs and downstairs TVs since the downstairs one was bigger equipped with more options for hooking up various consoles. To celebrate doing this in one evening, I decided to buy a Retron 5! This is a fabulous little system and I'm so glad that it can play Game Boy related games as well as Famicom and Super Famicom games. A great weekend project knocked out with no fuss.

As far as gaming is going, I decided to try Dragon Force for the Sega Saturn. First, I feel fortunate enough to actually own a copy that has all of the parts (manual, case, sticker, pamphlet that tries to sell you WD swag) and I know that this is a fine game. However, something about it seems to be not clicking with me. Like, I kind of understand what I'm supposed to do, but achieving that might be a bit of a challenge. My friends on the GameFAQs message boards have offered me advice, too. But, I can say I tried it.

I laughed. I cried. It was better than Cats.

But for now, I'll probably just dabble in little games here or there until I can finally pick up Tales of Hearts.

dark, I am loving your new Koudelka icon!!

Haha!

I was wondering who here would even recognize her or where she was from!

You, however, were a no-brainer & one of the few here that I didn't have any question about knowing who she was  ;)

Credit where credit is due, though - it's thanks to Argyle, who was kind enough to find & forward the image to me - along w/ A LOT of other nice ones, too  ;D

I'm a couple of hours into Tears to Tiara 2 and...I'm liking it a lot more than I was expecting to; for me - to play through a game w/ only JP voices - reading (instead of hearing) everything in English subs...I've got to *really* like it.

So, who else here plays/has played games voiced entirely in a language that they know absolutely nothing about, and had to 'read their way' through the game in order to play it?  Which games?

I've never made it 100% through any myself - in fact, the only other game like this that I've played more than a few minutes of would be Record of Agarest War Zero which, iirc, I probably played about 1/3 of.  I remember putting it on hold - not because I disliked it (how could I ever dislike any game/series that has so much in common w/ Cross Edge; albeit in a slightly diluted, watered-down, and simplified sort of way?8)) -but- because a Disgaea game (3 or 4) came out while I was playing it and it got tossed into the very sincere & well-intentioned "I'll get back to this soon" pile  :-\

I know a good amount of Japanese, so I wouldn't say "know nothing about." However, games like Agarest War or Namco X Capcom still never bothered me when it came to dubbing. Actually, I usually prefer the dubbing to the subbing due to so many voice actors not conveying the characters in a good way. Perfect example: Lloyd Irving from Tales of Symphonia. In English? Awful. In Japanese? Relatable. Little things matter. ^^()

Happy Halloween everyone! Stay safe tonight, I was invited to a Halloween party, but not sure if I wanna go. Way to many cops on patrol both in my buddy's area and mine, not that I drunk drive, but ill prob have a few beers, and police will be out in full force looking to pull everyone over.

So I will likely lock all my doors, blackout my house, and stick to my room or go help take my nephew trick or treating.

Halloween parties are the bees-knees! You should go. Just don't drink if you're that worried about the cops. I love Halloween and any excuse to dress-up (cosplay).

Regarding the dog incident, I have no respect for people that abuse any sort of animal. I'm not trying to say I'm part of PETA or anything like that, and I have never been in the premises of someone hurting an animal aside from a house fly or a stinging bug. However, I know for a fact that is something that would set me off. Animals lack a voice. It's up to people to give them a voice. Actually, when I read the news and see that people were hurt or killed, my level of empathy is really low. When an animal is hurt or killed, I am devastated.

While I would absolutely purchase Ciel nosurge in a heartbeat if it was localized, I doubt it would be as fun as any of the AT games. Based on what I read about it, it sounds like a simulation in which you have to physically scan bar codes in order to create Sharls. Ion will have the Sharls help her make items and this slowly but surely advances the plot. I read a story synopsis on the game somewhere. I'll see if I can find it for everyone.

Oh yeah, Nay = the girl that took over Delta's restaurant.

Ah yes, her. How could I forget her plumber crack and 1980s hair style?

Platted!

I found NAY, by far, to be the most annoying (probably followed by Prim).

Stereotypical as she was - I found myself liking Cass.

Plus...Sherelia's cuteness + bunnies + getting lost & flustered, Always = a win for me   ;D

Overall?

IMO, ~ a 6/10 that would probably get bumped another point or two, had I been able to play & understand the previous games.

Nay...I can't even remember which one that was. Prim was obnoxious, yes. Heck, all of them but Cass and Shurelia were pretty damn annoying.

Also, as far as I know, there is only one Ciel nosurge title. Did they make more than one?

Just saw

"Shurelia's Ending" in Ar no Surge; LMAO  ;D

Hoping to be able to plat the game sometime today or tomorrow, and move on to Tears to Tiara 2!

Well done! Shurelia's ending was the second of two permanently missable trophies. Post some first impressions if you can when you start up Tears to Tiara II.

Got everything yesterday except Ion's end + the plat...I'll be fixing that shortly  ;D

KASH, I'm gonna' give it a 3-4 out of ten for plat difficulty; you?

For an RPG, it's pretty basic, straightforward, and easy...I'm thinking that the only RPG I've ever platted any faster & easier than this one was Last Rebellion.

It's been awhile but - I seem to remember even AT Qoga's plat as being more frustrating + time consuming; thoughts?

4/10 sounds about right for the platinum. There was nothing too hard, but there was a lot of stuff to put up with. Also, the two missable trophies would have thrown anyone off without the help of a guide. In comparison to Qoga, Nosurge was much easier. That said, I enjoyed Qoga more because of the less confusing Cosmospheres and because of the characters. Ion was so damn annoying. >_<
