Sounds like I should just save money and go digital until I come back to the States for the most part.  Kind of a bummer, but I had mostly expected to live a pretty lean lifestyle while I was there.  I'm actually only bringing a laptop and a Raspberry Pi with me so I don't have to back a shit ton of consoles and games.  My goal is to bring little other than clothes with me as is, so I guess it just means I won't be bringing a lot back.  I expect to only be there for 3 years or so.  Steam and GOG will be my friends I suppose.

All I can say is get ready for paying stupid high prices for new games and unbearably laughable censorship.

Don't they ban games like Grand Theft Auto from stores? Or else the stores crack under pressure to do so.

They do have some pretty heavy handed censorship laws.  GTA is available since I have played with some friends I have who live over there, but I also have made purchases on the behalf of other's to get around this on steam before as well.

So I'll be moving to Australia soon.  Specifically Sydney, and I have no clue where to start with gaming on the other side of the planet.  Are there any cool stores anyone knows about?  Is there a good collector's community?  Does retro have a strong base at all there?  Anyone familiar with anything related to this willing to grace me with some knowledge would be appreciated.

I've been playing quite a bit of Ace Combat Infinity as of late....  Though I'm generally turned off by free to play games, I just like Ace Combat too much so I'm struggling through it....

I just signed into ebay to add something to my watchlist and Ebay forced me to do a password reset.

You can get around it.

Well I changed it anyways. No big deal. I hadn't changed that password in 9 years.

Yeah, generally one wouldn't want to get around it I'd think....

There should be a badge for posting after neglecting the forums for over a month....  >.>'  There is no particular reason why I happened to come up with that idea....

I'd say message matt@vgcollect.com... he should be able to help you out.

I may have to do this soon as well....  I've under taken a massive exodus of purging my collection but have added several hundred in the past couple months I never added....  I also never got around to adding most of my nintendo carts in the first place....

Site Feedback / Re: Desura platform
« on: July 23, 2014, 05:33:51 am »
I disagree.

Desura is a storefront. You can download the games with the client, but none of their software requires the Desura client to run. You can actually download the game installation files and install the game without needing the client at all. And as far as I know, none of the games they have for sale there are exclusive to their store. Adding a separate Desura platform would just fill up the site with lots of needless duplicate versions. The Desura versions are identical to the versions sold elsewhere - it's one of the reasons why we decided we should keep the amount of supported PC digital platforms to a minimum.

Unfortunately I had to keep myself somewhat limited in what I was using....

Curious, what happened to the Wildcats? I noticed in the DC Flashpoint book that Grifter was there? I seemed to have missed a large crossover or something maybe. I haven't been to up on comics, that big thing I was reading was Maximum Carnage, and that was quite a bit ago.

Jim Lee took them and most of his other Wildstorm characters with him when he left Image and was hired at DC and kept publishing them through DC (but using the Wildstorm logo, still). They were completely separate from the main DC Universe, though, except the occasional crossover (JLA/WildC.A.T.s, Mr. Majestic/Superman, and Captain Atom/Wildstorm).

Then after New 52 happened, DC Comics lumped all of Jim Lee's Wildstorm characters into the main DC Universe and that's where they've been since. Martian Manhunter joined Stormwatch.

Yeah, Spartan has had some cameos here and there.  Voodoo got her own book as well....  Grifter has had the most exposure with some crossovers and had his own book as well as a large roll in Team 7....  Zealot had a cameo or two as well if I recall and Warblade is in Ravagers....  Haven't spotted any Maul yet though....  Oh, and I think Void is around or something....  No one cares though....
