General / Does it ever bother you how much space your collection takes?
« on: January 20, 2019, 06:22:22 pm »
I only buy uncommon/sought after retro games to prevent myself from amassing an unwieldy size collection.

I don’t think I would feel right with walls and walls of largely unused items.

I have to really want to own something to bring it into my house.

My collecting style is super casual. I’ll only pick something up seeing it in the wild if my eyes widen and pop out of my head when I see it. So far I’ve had that reaction coming across the following (UK PS2): Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, Parappa the Rapper 2, Silent Hill 3, Sly Raccoon.

Having a modern PC and buying PC games exclusively on Steam I have almost never had any issues.

I can’t think of anything more stupid.

Thanks for the insightful, tactful reply!   ::)

He just wants attention
No, that’s really my opinion on empty boxes.

I like to rewatch the Halloween and Friday the 13th movies.

Star Wars also never gets old.

Sly Raccoon and PaRappa the Rapper 2

Fallout: Brotherhood Of Steel and Silent Hill 3

All on PS2. The former two found in charity shops the latter two found at car boot sales.

I prize them because it makes me happy that I got such insane deals on them and they are good relatively sought after games (most PS2 are worth nothing). They remind me of how my eyes widened and I how good it felt to see them in the settings that I saw them at.

General / How intentional are you about picking up new stuff?
« on: January 14, 2019, 06:09:22 pm »
Do you have a wishlist and regularly buy off it or just browse flee markets, goodwill, ebay etc. until a good deal is found on something that interests you that you stumble upon by accident?

I'm not saying I don't care about other collectors but there are specific instructions in my will to bury me with my game collection.

I don't have duplicates. It's pretty easy for me to understand having more than one copy though ... better condition disc/box/inserts/manual for starters. The pure scarcity of a title for another.

Not buying everything up when retro games were all over the place for pennies at car boot sales years ago.

This is a legitimate topic in an appropriate section of the forum. Could we stop the hate please. You guys are flaming me for no reason right now.

I think we can just accept that Red Dead Redemption 2 was the best game of the year and all time and call it a day.

I need to put my money in the US stock market because Brexit is about to decimate the UK one.

Looking for income rather than growth.

Thanks.

This is just a list of profanities.

If you do not have anything to add to a conversation do not make a post.

I tired to see if I could just copy and past the characters from other Korean text into google translate but I quickly came to the understanding that that is not possible with the amount of time I have to give. the base characters are easy but if you notice every character is actually a cluster of multiple base characters. which makes it nearly impossible to just copy and paste from other texts.

I’m fluent in Korean.

This text is just a wall of curse words.
