Yes, Gamecube and PS2 for life  8)

It's a bit exhausting how plastered this is everywhere on social media. I haven't seen the video yet but I can't believe how big a deal one human slapping another human could be. Celebrity fascination is truly a sight to behold.

Nice, I personally haven't found anything too notable. Mainly some complete PS1 games at a thrift store for $3 each.

I noticed a trend though in the past 2-3 years that thrift stores have actually started to research video game prices before displaying them on the shelves now. Few years ago, I'd see Wii consoles for $5 but now they'll sell these for like $30 which is ridiculous.

I'm sure other people's experiences will vary though, maybe it's just my area.

Not at all, I'm still waiting on the NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Wii U, Switch, PS1, PS2, xbox ports of GTA V. Rockstar please keep em coming!

The gamecube was definitely the hidden gem system amongst the Nintendo console history.

Almost every flagship Nintendo series had a game which knocked it out of the park.

Mario - Sunshine + Thousand Year Door
Zelda - Wind Waker + Twilight Princess
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
Metroid- Prime 1 & 2
F-zero GX
Pikmin 1 & 2
Kirby Airride
Starfox - Adventures & Assault
JRPG's like Tales of Symphonia, Baten Kaitos and Skies of Arcadia
Non Nintendo series like Resident Evil and Sonic.

I remember when I was about 8, I played my first roller coaster tycoon game that I got free from a cereal box! It was the 2nd game I believe and I spent hours and hours trying to complete all the free trial parks. I was so addicted to this game at the time that it lead me to buy other similar games like Zoo Tycoon which I also enjoyed.

It was a welcome sight to eventually see the entire series on steam and it's pretty cheap, even more so on sale. I bought the entire series again and I can say that it's just one of those games that are timeless. Spent a good couple days getting lost in the nostalgia again.

I think there's a bit of good and bad depending on how you look at it. Maybe bad in the sense that the market like you said seems flooded by these endless list of remasters often of games people didn't really ask for. For example, I may insult some hardcore fans but I really didn't know a single person anywhere that was asking for a remaster of red faction guerilla or kingdoms of amaleur. But I guess at the end of the day, if you don't like it, you just don't buy it simple.

The good on the other hand is that it gives an opportunity for people like me to enjoy games or series that we've been priced out of or missed in the past. Ex: The 'Kingdom Hearts all for one' set gave a new player like me the opportunity to play the entire series in one go which I found very convenient.

Also I know this is a long shot but it please me to no end if they remastered Xenosaga for PS2, and the Persona/Tales of Destiny series for PS1  ;D  One can only wish...

As a 90's baby, my first home console was Gamecube and man was it amazing.
I still remember playing a Luigi's Mansion demo at a MacDonald's play area kiosk and hoping to get this for the holidays.
Fast forward a couple months, and I got for Christmas a Purple Nintendo Gamecube bundled with Super Smash Bros. Melee.

My favorites were definitely F-zero GX, Fire Emblem, Paper Mario, Resident Evil 4, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and Tales of Symphonia.
Oh and who could forget the endless hours of City Trial on Kirby Airride.

Got two collector's items I've wanted for a while. Wasn't cheap but was worth for me  ;D

I can't imagine the amount of hours I've poured into Roller Coaster Tycoon. Mine was a copy from a cereal box when I was a kid, good times. ;D

I'd sell now, if you're thinking about it. COVID has people bored at home and that's why prices are up, same thing is happening with collectibles and electronics. I think it's at a high point right now. If you wait, prices may drop. I just saw on the news yesterday that COVID cases in the U.S. are already down 20% due to vaccines. That's just gonna get better, restrictions ending are in sight.

Do you think it will actually drop down a significant amount? I mean when I think about it my initial impression was obviously this pandemic has quickened the eradication of the middle class and created just two extremes of upper and lower class. It's obviously not the bankrupt small time business owners and millions of people laid off from work going out of their way to pay x2 or x3 the value for a single video game.

I mean I still have a job thankfully and working from home but I don't have the luxury to indulge on overinflated video game prices. My best guess is some people are choosing to spend all that extra cash saved from transportation, social dining or events towards video games.

Another thought I have is actually kids and teens make up a bigger portion of retro game market than people think. Video gaming on Twitch and youtube has absolutely exploded since the pandemic and all these kids stuck at home are watching their favorite streamers 24/7 play retro games and talk about their video game collections etc. which makes them want to follow suite.

Nice suggestions! The original RE and RE4 are also decent value games which haven't gone up in price all that much either.

Of the top of my head, Soul Calibur II and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles are also good titles with relatively cheap price tags too.
