Hi,

I've been recently looking into getting more 360 titles and wondering what titles surpass the PS3 versions I may have - Obviously there is the benefit of Backwards Compatibility & Enhancements on the Xbox One but I am looking for detail in regards to purely running games on their native consoles.

For example, It's pretty well known that Bayonetta is a disaster on the PS3 & the 360 version was superior but for Final Fantasy XIII the PS3 was the place to be!

So if anyone knows where I can find a comprehensive list where these Multi-platform titles face off, please let me know - Or we can maybe start one here :)

Hi,

I've been interested in gathering more Asian PS4 releases as me of them seem to have English settings. I can't quite seem to find a comprehensive list, so thought it might be neat to make one here!

So far I've got:

Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY! (Also Co-op!)
Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition
End of Eternity 4K (Also known as Resonance of Fate)
Parappa The Rapper
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy

While these are all available digitally we never got Physical Editions overseas! All these games translate to English as soon as you put the Disc in. I'd love to know more games similar to this so if you know any please share :)

I jsut recieved an Arabian copy of CoD:WW2, While I would be fine with it, my concern is that it will not be compatible with DLC from the UK Store, I can't find much up about it:
- It has a CUSA Code like my UK Games CUSA 08631
- It also has a Region 2 Symbol on the back like my UK games...

Any advice would be appreicated.

I see on the site the UK version has a different CUSA code of CUSA 08630 :

I've been on the lookout for the Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, yet I still see no evidence of a PAL Version exisiting - No Online retailers have it other than Square Enix's Store:
https://store.eu.square-enix-games.com/en_GB/product/593479/shadow-of-the-tomb-raider-definitive-edition-ps4

Apparently it has all the of the DLC on disc, so it's a decent edition worth picking up, but I've not seen anything on the release at all - There is a Youtube Unboxing of the NTSC Version:

This is certainly becoming a Mysterious little title...

Modern Video Games / Can you take BLU-RAY Discs to a Store to clean?
« on: November 07, 2019, 06:50:28 am »
Hi,

I know you can take DVD based games (PS2, Xbox 360) to a Store to get a CD cleaned of scratches - Can you do that for games this generation that are Blu-Rays? Family member broke their game recently and would rather do that than buy a replacement.

« on: November 05, 2019, 03:08:48 am »
Hi, I recently heard that Resonace of Fate / End Of Eternity 4K Remaster is getting an Asian phsyical release. So I am interested in getting this without receiving sillt import fees. I was curious to see if anyone here had any other sidtes they'd recommend over Play-Asia? I've found YESasia, but have no experience with them.

General / Importing from Amazon.co.jp - Can't be done anymore?
« on: October 03, 2019, 04:16:51 am »
Hi,

I've imported games from Japans Amazon site before with no issues, but now when I put an item in the basket and go to checkout it states it cannot deliver to my address - I'm from the UK.

I've had no issue with this previously and already ordered a couple of games from them this year but now it seems I cannot. I've made sure I've selected the actual Amazon seller too and not just 3rd party seller.

Has anyone else encountered this issue too?

I'm looking into buying Final Fantasy X/X-2 on the Switch but eBay prices are simply too much!

Hi,

I've been setting up my back-up PS3 recently and thought this would make an interesting topic among members - What Measures Do You Take To Future Proof/Preserve Your Gaming Collection?

Back-Up Consoles
As I stated I have recently bought a 2nd PS3 incase my current one tanks on me! I don't normally do this, but with the change in the industry with their approach to digital & online gaming this has become a valid pre-caution. I've actually gone through my entire PS3 collection and backed up the downloadable updates,Separate from the games in install files which you can access online. To do this, you can highlight a game and press Triangle to get the prompt 'Check for Update'. Now all the Data for my PS3 games is saved on my PS3's HDD.

Backing up your Console Data
This will be the next step, taking all the data I have on my console and backing it up on an external HDD - most commonly used for when transferring data from console to console. I will however be using this current PS3 Data Build as my base set-up for any console, so if my console does tank, I can go to my external HDD and transfer my back-up files with all my Online Updates & Downloaded Games & DLC safe.

External HDD for Modern Consoles
Also, with modern games demanding you install all the Data from the Disc to the HDD, I've found that the base 1TB HDD isn't enough. I've installed a 2TB HDD to my PS4 Pro & have an External 4TB HDD also. I mainly have this so if a game has DLC & is 100+GB like Final Fantasy XV I don't have to re-install it all, I can just pop it on my External HDD & should I want to experience that game again I can transfer it over.

Sleeves/Plastic Cases for your game cases
In my perspective, the majority of the time we're not actively using our games, they're readily available for that one particular moment when you want to play the particular title. So while my games are sat on my shelf, I like to re-seal them to keep them safe from dust, damp and whatever else could occur. I find re-sealing very simple to do - I buy packs of 100/200 on eBay & as soon as I get a game that's pre-owned or newly opened I stick a sleeve over it.

Screen Protectors & Cases for Portable Consoles
This is a must for me, it's the first thing I do before even touching my console - beyond giving the console itself a little clean if Pre-owned.

Storage Boxes
Sadly I don't have a good way to play my PS2 Collection, so it gets rejected and left alone in storage boxes in my cupboard. I'd love to have the fully displayed on a shelf, but I simply don't use them at all now due to not having a practical way to display them on a HDTV.

Portable Games - In Multi-Cart cases
With my DS & 3DS games, I actually keep the carts separate from the game cases (Which I also keep in a storage box), I find this a practical & accessible way to store my DS/3DS titles. One thing I absolutely refuse to do is put my Disc based games in Wallet - I've had experience where handling the discs from the wallet has caused scratches, so a big NONO!!

Backing Up Games Digitally
Technically it's not illegal to make back-up of the games you own. I do this with my PSP not only to preserve them horrible UMDs but also the games run better on Memory Stick!

That's most of the methods I can think of that I back-up/preserve my games, I'm curious to hear what other measures members here might go to.

Hi,

I'm looking for a sturdy case to store my Nintendo DSi XL, I've been looking on eBay the last week and can't find much suitable at all! Do cases that fit the 3DS/2DSXL fit too? I'm from the UK but If anyone has any ideas on this I'm all ears!

Also considering screen protectors, I was thinking of getting the glass ones but as the console is a clam-shell design I guess it isn't necessary.

Modern Video Games / Are Steelbook Editions Getting Too Expensive?
« on: August 15, 2019, 05:40:16 am »
Hi,

Was just looking online and have seen that this year many Steelbook Editions that are being released seem toe be extortionately priced!

The Death Stranding Steelbook Edition exclusive to GAME is £69.99:
https://www.game.co.uk/en/death-stranding-special-edition-2571848

You get the Steelbook which is fine, but beyond that it's just minor cosmetic tat - A soundtrack and making of video which aren't even on disc.

Considering I can get the game online for £40, the extra £30 Hardly seems justified. I would have paid an extra £10 for this content but it seems more and more often these Steelbook Editions are costing too much.

The same can be said for the Final Fantasy VII Remake:
https://www.game.co.uk/en/final-fantasy-vii-remake-deluxe-edition-uk-retail-game-exclusive-2397798
At least with this you get a physical mini-artbook and soundtrack sample (usually very limited to 5-8 tracks at best...), but this is double the price of the original Edition online... It just seems wild to me!

Whereas with the MediEvil Remake, the Steelbook Edition is £24.99!:
https://www.game.co.uk/en/medievil-2612556
£5 more than I can get it at online competitors, but if I am being honest, I think GAME are treating this more as a Freebee... but it works for me and I've put a Pre-Order down for this one!

It's just beginning to annoy me, as I generally like Steelbooks, but not at some of these prices.

Out of nowhere guys, seems it will be offline from 9th August (Friday!) I imagine physical version - Which I think is only the PAL version (?), will sky rocket after this, so if you had any interest in getting it, now would be the time!:

Side note, I know years back it was also Free on PS+ So worth checking!

Modern Video Games / What Season Passes have you bought into?
« on: May 08, 2019, 08:27:34 am »
Hi,

I am often very reluctant to buy into Season Passes - I'd much rather have the content on disc, but sometimes the chance simply never arises and I give into a Season Pass when on Sale. I was curious to see what games others have bought Season Pass Content for & if you felt you got good value out of them. Here's mine:
Alien Isolation - Didn't even include all the DLC...
Batman: Arkham Knight
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
The Evil Within - Very Good!
Final Fantasy XV - A mess, I also got the Royal Pack, but have yet to get Episode Arydn.
Lego Star Wars VII - Was £3.19 for 3 Levels & extras, not bad.
Wolfenstein II - Soon to play
World of Final Fantasy MAXIMA - LATE Post game content.

Here are DLC Editions I have bought which include a Season Pass slip rather than content on disc - Not happy that I didn't get them on disc, so putting them in the same category as Seaon Pass purchases:
Fallout 4 GOTY - TBC, seems like a lot but would have preferred it on a 2nd Disc like Shadow of War.
Mafia III:Deluxe Edition - TBC
Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom - King's Edition - TBC
NieR: Automata - Game of the YoRHa Edition - Not worth it IMO.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole - Gold Edition (Got this one dirt cheap and it includes a digital version of the 1st game too!)

Hi Ladies & Gents,

I've been looking online and seen that Xbox One S Consoles are going for a decent £150... I admit here and now there are barely 1-2 Xbox One titles I even have interest in but the rise of the consoles backwards compatibility is appealing...

Are games like Final Fantasy XIII BC in Native 4K? Because while I could nab one of these cheap now, but in time I may want abckwards compatibility on a 4K system - I currently still have a 32' 1080P Samsung HDTV... I do have a 43' Toshiba 4K TV... but it's simply too big for my sitting area :P

I only bought a 360 last year cheap to play original Xbox & 360 titles, which I am quite happy with the bundle I've got, not all work on Xbox One, but I think most do, I'l have to compare through lists online later.

Hi,

I noticed on my Collection DB that I had only one DreamCast game, While I don't have many I could have sworn I added them ages ago. Also, I am 100% Positive I added my 4-Disc scan imae of the Shenmue games, yet they weren't there... I'ev added them again and some other stock images I had on my PC.

I could have been very silly and just overlooked it but conisdering how hyped I am for Shenmue III the lack of my scan image makes me wonder, but just a little shout out incase.

Hi,

I've noticed recently a fair few Japanese Physical Releases which included the English version encoded onto the Disc - I recently bought Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY! & when you pop the disc into the PS4 it recognises your region and acts as an English copy:

I heard this morning that Japan is getting the Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Remaster set on Physical & That the English translation is intact! Considering we're not getting a physical Edition overseas this is very appealing and I pre-ordered it from Amazon.jp!

So, I was wondering if there was a comprehensive list of exclusive PS4 Physical Titles released in Japan - Which actually feature English?  If not, maybe we can build one here!
