Hi,

I've been interested in gathering more Asian PS4 releases as me of them seem to have English settings. I can't quite seem to find a comprehensive list, so thought it might be neat to make one here!

So far I've got:

Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY! (Also Co-op!)
Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition
End of Eternity 4K (Also known as Resonance of Fate)
Parappa The Rapper
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy

While these are all available digitally we never got Physical Editions overseas! All these games translate to English as soon as you put the Disc in. I'd love to know more games similar to this so if you know any please share :)

I love getting Remasters for older games I 've got, it's a very compulsive habit I must admit! But I do like  the idea of having the best available version of a game I can get. The bad collectors habit is not getting rid of the previous versions, I still like to get the originals... - On that note, if a game gets a Re-release with DLC I have no hesitation to get rid of the original version.

The notion of DLC irriates me on many factors. As a gamer it annoys me because I feel I am getting an incomplete experience at launch, espeically when the DLC is story related content that is then put into the timescale of the main campaign - I see that as content that should be in the experience and with the content often not even being availabel Day One this puts me off buying games. Whenever I find a game I am interested in I purposefully seek to see if it has a Season Pass. If so, I will wait over a year unless it is something I consider essential. I've missed out on games like Control, Dragon Ball Z Kakarot, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Wolfenstein 2 and more due to the thread of an incomplete experience through DLC. If it comes up to a year and we hear nothing of the DLC I will then get it digitally when it appears on sale.

DLC also pisses me off as a collector too! Because I don't want to buy an Incomplete Edition, So I have to keep note on what games are getting DLC and prey that they get a Complete Edition a year down the line. NeatherRealm is a great example of a company that release a base copy of their game but after all the DLC is out they seem to always release a Complete Edition, so I'm holding out for Mortal Kombat 11XL this year!

What really gets me is when they re-release a game with DLC and it has a code! This is just the worst possible outcome because not only is it a waste of print but it also shuts the opportunity of collectors having Complete Versions of games! An example that comes to mind recently is Life Is Strange 2 - They released the episodes over a year and then when  they physical Edition finally came out, the last episode was on a DLC code and not on disc - What a waste!

I also have noticed it can be really difficult to find out if a DLC Edition has the all the DLC on Disc prior to its release date. Many companies aren't up front about it when they announce it so you have to wait for the hersay of leaked/early posted copies. I got duped with NieR: Automata last year.

Modern Video Games / Re: Do you like Fortnite? Do you want to play?
« on: January 08, 2020, 02:52:07 am »
I have actually recently started playing Fortnite because it now features one of the most unter utilised mechinics in the industry these days - CO-OP!

You can sit at home with a buddy using the Splitscreen option & also compete online, so few games do this but when a game does it becomes SO much more appealing! I'm  really hoping APEX takes note of this as I did prefer the gameplay of that one - Still don't likethe buolding mechanics of Fortnite just feels out of place for me.

I've not updated my list since July! but I am going to go through all the games I have beaten since quickly:
19. Judgment ( PS4) - Decent Story, didn't enjoy the fighting styles.
20. Dragons Crown PRO (PS4) - Great Co-op action!
21. State of Mind (PS4) - Great Interactive Drama, must for Quantic Dream fans!
22. Man of Medan (PS4) - A lot of inconsistencies and a bit of a let down really...
23. Catherine: Full Body(PS4) - Great game, but the implementation of the new Catherine doesn't work so well.
24. AER Memories of Old (PS4) - Anti-Climatic!
25. DOOM (PS4) - Beat the original DOOM for the 1st time (Even has co-op!)
26. Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed (Vita) - Playing it a lot this year, not getting all the S-Rank though.
27. Team Soinc Racing (PS4) - Great racing title, had a lot more fun with it than the Crash Team Racing remake... which remains incomplete...
28. Shenmue (PS4) - Remains in my Top 10 favourite games.
29. Shenmue II (PS4) - Explored the game in much bigger detail, love it!
30. Shenmue III (PS4) - While lacking in narrative was a wonderful gaming experience!
31. NeverDead (PS3) - Not as bad as everyone says, strangely compelling.
32. Virtua Fighter 5: Showdown (PS3) - Played it a bunch.
33. Dead Rising 2 (PS4) - The game has horrible time keeping issues, to the point if you don't make an objective in time the whole game shuts down on you... but it's co-op!
34. Lost Planet (360) - Very Decent Action B-Movie
35. Lost Planet 3 (PS3) - Frustrating combat mechanics, but decent main character and story.
36. World of Illusion (Mega-Drive-Mini) - Played World of Illusion on my Mega-Drive Mini, still one of the finest platfomers ever made!

36 isn't too bad considering I don't play short arcadey games, prett content with that really.

Playing:
Death Stranding (PS4)
Borderlands 1 GotY (PS4)

Plan to play:
End of Eternity (PS4)
Ni No Kuni Remastered (PS4)
Infinite Indiscovery (360)
Yakuza 1 & 2 Kiwami (PS4)
Final Fantasy VII (PC if I can get a solid build)

I don't think I've ever bought a console at launch either - Good think too because look at what a joke the VCR-like DAY ONE Xbox One Edition is like :P

Price point is a factor, also these days I am begnning to look into saving a bit better so limiting my pre-orders for next year already. As for a new console, I find often that the launch titles are underwhelming - it's certainly been the case for the PS3 & PS4. The first title I REALLY needed on PS3 was Metal Gear Solid 4 in 2008 & on PS4 Probably MGS5 (I bought Ground Zeroes on PS3 at first). It will take something BIG like a Final Fantasy XVI to really get me invested into a Next Generation Console.

Also, another factor is my TV set-up. I actually have a 4K TV already, it's 43 Inches but it's too big for my lounge area! I currently have a 32' Samsung that is just right and they don't seem to really make 4K TV's that small... so will have to consider if it really is worh the upgrade.

Off Topic / Re: Favorite Movies of 2019

Marriage Story - By fat the best film I have seen in years! It follows the breakdown of a marriage but isn't as bitter as something like Revolutionary Road. You can see that the lovers in question still care for each other despite the conflict. Well written and endearing performances, it's certainly worth the watch.

Toy Story 4 - Really Enjoyed it once again, I thought Feminist Bo-Peep would ruin the story but it was only a minor irritation.

Joker - Once again Brilliant performance piece. I felt the anarchy near the end was a little of the rails and  some of the ties to Batman a little too forced but I certainly enjoyed it.

594
I doubt I'll be getting a new console within the 1st year of its release anyway - Unless it launched with a killer app like Final Fantasy XVI. But even if I did I wouldn't go crazy and sell my PS4 games as they're to keep - Much like my PS3 games before this generation and so on.

If it wasn't for Operation Rainfall I wouldn't have a Nintendo Wii at all. All 3 games got me very excited for the system and upon purchasing 1 I never regretted it - Xenoblade Chronicles was worth getting the system for alone and among the greatest JRPG experiences I've ever had.

I've always struggled to align with Nintendo & it's not for the lack of trying but there is always something that just puts me off, wether it be dungeon crawling, silent protagonists or that Sphere level design in Mario Galaxy there's always something which stops me from really enjoying the majority of Nintendo titles - This applies to all consoles and not just the Wii. It's bizarre as I like cute creatures in things & generally enjoy children's TV shows so you'd think I'd eat up all of Nintendo's properties but I never do.

Most of the games I like on the Wii are very Un-Nintendoy. I've already mentioned Operation Rainfall but another stand out title is Silent Hill Shattered Memories - the Wii version being the best as the PS2 version is technically inferior. That game was great it's interactive narrative. Epic Mickey was a brilliant Platformer which utilised the Wii's controls effectively and I loved how they explored the past characters of Disney.

Beyond that though, I don't have much else to say about the system, sadly was it was not built for HD all my Wii content is put in storage. I had a Wii-U but not much really stood out on that console for me to keep it out - I had it on my TV Unit for 2 years and barely touched it. While the Wii-U console is in HD, the Wii games aren't upscaled which is a big set back for me.

Yep - 007: Blood Stone (PS3)

597
I could test it, but don't want to void my return :P I mean it's only £5 I know but it wasn't as advertised at all.

I looked on PSN but there was no on the CUSA number

598
Haven't bought any new games for a while but decided it was time to see what all of the hype was about when Shenmue 3 showed up, so I got the first two. I was going to get the HD remaster, but the combined price of I and II these was less than a sealed copy of the PS4 remaster.

Interesting, because here in the UK the HD Port usually goes for under £10, I've given 5-6 away to friends and family :P

Classic Video Games / Re: 25th Anniversary of PlayStation!
« on: December 05, 2019, 08:46:23 am »
Been hooked on PlayStation ever since the first one, originally I didn't want to trade my MegaDrive away for the PS1 but when I did it changed EVERYTHING!:

PS1 - Final Fantasy IX: Phenomenal adventure and features my favourite character from any game.

PS2 - Shadow of Memories/Destiny: First time experience and interactive narrative and what an amazing experience!

PS3 - NieR: Brilliantly dark Action-JRPG.Worth playing multiple times to expand the story and best OST of all time!

PS4 - Life Is Strange: Very compelling, I couldn't put it down from the get go and appreciated the lead character being an introvert.

PSP - Crisis Core: Taking great advantage of the source material and expanding on a timeline of Final Fantasy VII worth telling.

PSVita - Gravity Rush: Bursting with CHARM! Everything I hoped for even if I do prefer the PS4 version now.

I jsut recieved an Arabian copy of CoD:WW2, While I would be fine with it, my concern is that it will not be compatible with DLC from the UK Store, I can't find much up about it:
- It has a CUSA Code like my UK Games CUSA 08631
- It also has a Region 2 Symbol on the back like my UK games...

Any advice would be appreicated.

I see on the site the UK version has a different CUSA code of CUSA 08630 :
