@dstpone
Dang! I thought I had a lot of comics. I'm at about 4,000 right now. But you've got that all put to shame. Are you a comic seller? Or is that just a personal collection?

If you're looking to catalogue them, www.comiccollectorlive.com has fan-freaking-tastic collection software that I use. And it has a great buying/selling community. But there is a catch. The software is completely free to use and download, however if you want it to continually update with the latest issues, you do have to pay $29.95 a year. But I've found that it's well worth and I've been using the service since about 2007.

The last comic I bought was the Death of Superman story way back when.  I just wanted to be part of the conversation.  This is about the extent of the comics I've bought in the last 20 years.  I have Issue 1, 2, and 4 of the Nintendo Comic Systems and this hardback jewel.

That is awesome! I didn't even know it existed! Now I have to have one!

Did you add that bad boy to the database here?

Modern Video Games / Re: Sony's new and evil patent
« on: January 04, 2013, 01:58:08 am »
I agree with this not being concrete evidence of this being implemented in the PS4. We also saw patents by Sega for a new console based off of their Ring-Edge arcade hardware a couple years back. This console never saw the light of day. Yet it got a handful of Sega fans very hopeful and vocal in the online gaming community for a short time.

So even though a patent is filed, it doesn't mean it's gonna happen. It's just a way for companies to prevent other companies from getting the jump on them.

Classic Video Games / Re: Underrated Platformers?

Duck Tales 1 & 2 for NES. After the Super Mario Bros. games, it's the best pure-platformer on the NES. Sublime controls, nice graphics that reflect the cartoon, great level-design, and some of the best music on the NES.

Pac-Man World 1 & 2 are really good, too. And I never hear anyone talk about them. I spent a lot of time on those games. Definitely not a traditional Pac-Man experiences, though, which is why I'm sure many people didn't like it. But if you can accept it as just a 3D platformer, then you'll have a blast with it.

Cool Spot on Sega Genesis and SNES was pretty good, too. Not as good as Sonic or Mario, but as still it's a surprisingly good platformer with some impressive graphics for the time; especially considering it's nothing more than a licensed-game based off a forgotten advertising mascot for 7-Up.

@foxhack, those are some great prices! I would have more DC games if I could find them for that cheap!

Are you in the U.S.? Because I generally find most Dreamcast games to be pretty cheap, here in the U.S. Skies of Arcadia is an exception, but then that's usually the case with many JRPGs on any console.
I live in Canada and I rarely see DC games unless they are sports ones and even then they are normally priced at about $5.

If $5 is an expensive game to you, then you should just get out game collecting now.

You know what that proves? That the XBox 360 & PS3 has got nothing on Blast Processing.  8)

@Those who've played Oblivion AND Skyrim (preferrably, both on the PS3):

- What did you think of the one compared to the other?

- And, more importantly, how similar/different are the main controls/mechanics of the 2 games?

(What I'm getting at here -is- if I was able to (w/o too much difficulty) "100%" Oblivion one-handed...should I be able to do the same w/ Skyrim) -OR- are there drastic differences?

Thanks -

Skyrim definetly has more of a "Norse" or "Viking" feel to it all. While Oblivion feels more like more traditional fantasy-elements. I felt Oblivion was a better game, honestly. It felt more balanced. In Skyrim you just feel incredibly overpowered after only a few level-ups. But both games are absolute masterpieces that are more than worth owning and will give hours upon hours of enjoyment.

Very nice Dreamcast pick-ups there for an incredible price! Congrats!

I just finished the Dragonborn expansion for Skyrim. Seemed VERY short. I completed the main-quest in one-day, today. And that's after getting sidetracked on quite a few sidequests, random exploring, and internet browsing.
After hearing how quickly you went through it I think I'm glad I didn't buy it.

I also heard it was very short.

I haven't had the chance to play Skyrim yet, but I did purchase the Hearthfire DLC for 200 M$ Points on the last day of their XBL sale.  My boyfriend has started to play the game, and it makes me want to play it even more...   :-\

Is there any questing actually in the Hearthfire expansion? The way the description sounded, it was nothing more than a house building and family building feature added to the game, which I'm not all that interested in. However, if there was a good questline in there somewhere, I might think about it.

I finished the Skyrim Expansion: Dragonborn yesterday. Pretty dang short as it took me only one day, and that was between random questing and exploring. What really frustrated me, though, is that the game glitched out right after beating the final boss. His body just sat there dead, while the game continued to play the battle music, and every time I tried to use the action button on his body it said "This character is busy". So freaking frustrating. I had to go through the entire final dungeon and battle over again, including the horribly controller dragon-riding part (which sucks because that should have been a really cool part of the game).
