I just provided edits for the oldest entry to update the arts and fill in the blanks, along with a description of the content as requested.
I guess if and once this gets accepted, both entries can be merged then?

I don’t think the community’s vote apply; there’s this sentence at the end of the first post:

NOTE: None of these options would allow for loose or individually packaged stand-alone games from within regular packaging (such as an edition box) to have a separate entry. This is only to be regarding instances where more than 1 game exists within a single package.
As Baten Kaitos: Owaranai Tsubasa to Ushinawareta Umi is one and only one stand-alone game (on two discs, but still one game: starting a new game from Disc 2 will prompt you to swap it with Disc 1), I think this is a case where no dupe is admitted.

If I am wrong though, there’s still the question of the naming. IMHO I find it preposterous to specify “ - Complete Box” for the complete game rather than “ - Disc #” when the cardboard box & the other disc are missing.

Just for clarity, the two cases bundled in the "complete box" version (entry name needs updating) have two other noteworthy differences. The first—and most obvious—difference is that the back cover art for each is unique. The second difference is found in the front item number. The Disc 1 cover features item number GS-DOL-GKBJ-JPN, whereas the Disc 2 cover features item number GS-DOL-GKBJ-JPN(A).

Yep, one last difference is the background color of the covers; for Disc 1 it’s a greenish/blueish white, while for Disc 2 it’s a pinkish white.
Still, they’re both part of a same package and I don’t think it makes sense to keep the two items linked above split.
May I have to update anyone of them before they get merged?

The game comes in a cardboard box twice wider as usual Japanese GameCube games. This wider box actually contains two usual cases, one for each disc of the game.
The cardboard box is shown in the second listing; the first listing shows one of both the inner cases (both almost identical, except for the mention Disc 1 or Disc 2 on the lower blue band, here undecipherable due to low quality, but clearly spottable when you know what to look for).

Here what the whole looks like:

Really?

My bad then, I always assumed this was the japanese stuff unofficially repackaged by US resellers to get rid of the japanese branding.

Hey,

The front and back box arts of the Nintendo GameCube component cable are obviously not genuine: https://vgcollect.com/item/111702
For the most obvious part: I highly doubt Nintendo ever realased anything packaged in a transparent plastic bag labeled “Genuine Nintendo spare part.”

Yet, when I point this out and try to edit the item with scans of my own copy, I get rejected for “Incorrect information” for the front box art, “Incorrect box art” for the back one.
My scans are allegedly less 200px wide, in jpg format, and the largest in 840kB, way less than the 2MB limit; here they are:

I understand these scans aren’t the best one could get, but my copy is not in really great shape and, at least for the back box art, you will hardly find any other one online.

May I actually know why this gets rejected in favor of an obvious unofficial package, so that I can get it accepted?

Updated. Thank you.

Basically what the title describes.

The problem is not visual only: on each page the first item is the first to show up within the page code also.

You can check mine to see what I talk about (two pages, only one item is shown on each, although I know I have more).

Hey, I have a concern about Micro Mages for NES: https://vgcollect.com/item/165639

Basically, the game is a Kickstarted homebrew released in several formats (digital on Steam, a NES rom was officially delivered to backers, and the game on a NES cartrigde is being sent to backers at the moment).
An important point is that the cartridge is compatible with every NES as is, i.e. not subject to region-lock.
So, no matter where you live and on which NES you play, you can play this game.
As a consequence, you have one and only version for the whole world (no sense to make, say, a EU alternative for this entry as this would be the same exact version of the game).

From there I feel it’s kind of tricky to decide a region for the game. The version I linked here is for the US NES.
The fact is the studio behind the game, Morphcat Games, is german. For this reason I think it seems quite reasonable to match the region of the game to the region of its developing team, thus the EU NES instead of the US NES.

I’d like to have some thoughts and feedback on this before editing the entry. That plus I wanted to defend such an edit here.

Thanks!
