My collecting habits haven't really changed all that much still mostly buying japanese region games, however i shifted more towards ps2/xbox and xbox 360 these days.
Now that i finally got my hands on a complete list of japanese 360 releases, i'm even more motivated to collect for the system as i'm not overly far off towards the full set. I don't know off anyone who has done it before yet so i may be the first one lol. (yeah i'm sure somebody in japan most likely done it ).

As for more older stuff i'm still chasing the same certain few games for the last 10 years. Only they have doubled in prices and i'm not sure wheter i want to pay 1000$+ for one game anymore.

I try to put 20-25 hours into gaming but with weather turning better i'll mostlikely end up going hiking whenever i can.

Only thing i noticed over the past couple of years is that i'm getting less and less interested in current gen gaming, the old me would freak out that i coulden't get a ps5 or xbox series x at launch, now i'm like eh i just don't care. I'll just pick one up whenever i feel like it and when they are avaible in stores.

After nearly 4 months and a half they finally arrived. Kind of off got these consoles for a really good price on yahoo auctions japan and to not kill the deal i went with surface shipping, it toke a long ass  time but atleast i saved over 100 bucks on shipping costs in the end.
I diden't have a japanese og black xbox yet, so now i can finally say i have every japanese edition  ;D, also i've never owned an 360 elite before so now i do.
The ps2 slim is the final version (scph-9000) of the console kind of going to use that in my bedroom when i move this fall and since i've been boosting my japanese ps2 collection lately i'm going to get a lot of use out of it.

Collecting Videogames is more populair then ever why would it by dying anytime soon? I'd almost  start calling it a hipster hobby, wherest 15-20 years ago it was just seen as a poor man's hobby.

I was being laughed at school sometimes because i was into older games, like why would you want that old junk can't you afford a ps2!!

GBA came out at the very same time as the ps2 and those where all 2D games. and since they where brand new games it's not a poor mans hobby in that case.

Pretty much every kid liked 2d games at the time as a result of the gba being really popular. Ds also didn't shy away from 2d games.

I'm talking retro stuff, what does the gba have to do with this it was new back then. If you were like 16 in 2002 all most school kids cared about was playing gta 3 and maybe (smoking cigs and drinking beer.)
If you were seen walking around with a handheld you would end up being laughed at for it being a kids console or in the worst case being bullied, well atleast it was like that to the school i went.
Since i was into master system and sega in general i was being laugh at for being too poor to buy the latest consoles, not that i really cared anyway, trading a pack of cigarettes or couple of beers for a ps1 rpg, well don't mind me if i do, yep i was still being called an idiot after the trade.

Modern Video Games / Re: Xbox One S is kinda underrated. [Opinion]
« on: April 08, 2021, 10:54:00 am »
The first generation 360's diden't have an hdmi port as far my memory can tell, but i doubt you'll find one in working condition anyway.

I've always been more of an xbox guy then a playstation guy, while i do love the ps1 and ps2 to death and have a massive libary of games for them, the ps3 kinda pushed me away from sony for a good while, i bought one on launch and it crapped out on me after 2 months, despite the warranty it was apparently my fault and sony pretty much told me to pay for repairs.

I've stuck with xbox as my major gaming platform since then, don't really regret it.
The xbox one s should have been the orginal model from the start, whoever decided that including a kinect with a vcr should have their head checked.

However with the xbox one x is when microsoft finally got it right. I don't have a ps5 or xbox series x yet so for now it's my go to console for playing my games.

Also for exclusives try out state of decay 1 (and 2) and man how can i forget screamride, you almost never hear somebody talking about that game.

Suprised nobody mentioned titanfall 2 yet, that game had the best campaign in a fps in quite a while imo. Well worth spending 10 bucks on or for whatever you can buy it these days.

Sticking to the topic yes i do buy them from time to time but i pick them up usually a few years down the line when the price is cheap. It's  fun to sit trough a campaign of a couple of hours in one sitting (on a rainy saturday evening) every once in a while.
I'm mostly a gears and halo guy tough.

I'm more worried wheter or not you will still be able to download patches or are those going to be gone aswell?

I once knew a guy who toke out a loan for about 30 grand to buy 5 neo geo aes games so there is always worse.

But i'll admit i'm also guilty of spending 1000 euros or more on games in the past. Back in the day when i lived with my parents, diden't have a care in the world other then making sure i got in time to work. A lot of stuff was also alot cheaper then it is nowadays, yes those were the days.

Modern Video Games / Re: Day One Purchases - I'm feeling Less Inclined

Nah i don't pay full price for new games anymore, unless it's something i'm really exited for (made an exeption for yakuza 7 and ac valhalla) but these days can't say i'm really hyped about anything that's coming out in the near future. Maybe the new story of seasons and harvest moon games in march but i doubt these will retail for 60$.
I see myself buying less and less current gen games each year, now with the brexit in effect it's only going to dwindle down even more as for whatever reason buying games from the uk was cheaper then picking em up from a store near me, go figure.
Now that i think off it all the dedictated gamestores near me got closed.

no man's sky is a perfect example, why people should stop buying games day one, i've yet to play the game, bought it for around 20 euros a year orso ago and i'm  pretty sure it's going to be an amazing experience with all the updates and so much more.

Nintendo published games i'm interested in are another story, since they never drop in price may aswell pick em up when they release. Not that i sell my games but for those that do you usually don't lose much money when you sell off a used copy and bonus for the collector in me overtime nintendo games tend to hold much of their value.

it's been quite a while since i've taken pictures of stuff i've picked up and since i want to be more active on the forums i'll try and keep up with my pick ups.

first up some japanese 360 stuff been chipping away towards the full set pretty sure i'm over half way now, i tend to pick up these limited editions here and there whenever i find em for cheap.  :

and some japenese og xbox stuff, very pleased with these as some were quite heavy on the wallet. I personally think auto modellista is the rarest japanese xbox out there, been looking for a copy for over a year and a half. Last month a sealed one pops upon yahoo japan for 30 bucks , quite pleased getting it for that price.

Covid robs me for about 4-500 euros of income each month, while that sucks i rather see the positive in it as i've got more free time on my hands and let it it be that hiking is (apart from gaming/collecting) my main hobby so i can finally put more time into that.

29
Panzer dragoon saga in one of those sealed blister pack for about 15 euros they had atleast 5 of them sitting in a cabinet alongside a bunch of other saturn games on clearance, i only could buy one game and bought manx tt instead.
My friend at the time had panzer dragoon saga so diden't really feel the need to buy one myself as i could borrow it from him whenever i wanted. Pretty sure we were the only 2 people at school who had a saturn.

Classic Video Games / Re: The Xbox 360 Discussion Thread

The 360 is one of my favourite consoles of all time. It came out around the time i've gotten my first paycheck so i was around from the early days and the first 5 years the console was pretty much killing it, after that microsoft kinda starting slacking and exclusives came out less and less, meaning the ps3 could catch up to it.
My launch console i'm pretty sure it still works.

My goal is to have a complete Japanese 360 collection one day, i'm about 300 games in at the moment,so far it's a fun console to collect for. At the moment, bar a few games anything can be bought for on the cheap, even the shooters seem to be at an all time low these days  ;D
