Yes I notice jjfly is adding some "ok" photos, but I have approved ones where there are no images already. So let this be a lesson to try to get some better images. If the image is too dark, try to brighten it in an image editor. I understand the difficulty in finding good pictures sometimes and even will cut some corners if there isn't much luck in finding a good picture of something. But it is a different story if you have the item in your possession.

Remember this, when adding an incorrect image or one of low quality, someone else will have to do that work to replace it at some point in the future.

I have put in the back art for the entry in first post, and adjusted the title to reflect it has a variation. Then I have added the variation:

Edit approved, but it needs a better picture.

Also I see you are adding PC games but not using the correct art. For example this Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri
https://vgcollect.com/item/124199

You have put the inner jewel case front and back as the art. You should put the box art instead.

I remember not being able to play or figure out how to play multiplayer games in the dial-up days. But still I would download multiplayer maps for Doom or Duke Nukem 3D and explore them. I remember some pretty amazing Duke Nukem 3D maps. One was of a Star Trek ship, another was some castle.

Can you put your picture in this thread?

Currently the only PC titles we want is games and edutainment.

I have plenty of software in my own collection that is not in the db because it does not fit the scope of the site. Perhaps some day they can be added, but general PC software collectors are in such a minority and not at all like game collectors that it is difficult to see how it would be useful to store that type of information here to be worthwhile.

For magazine discs, providing they include a game, can be put into this category:

It is fixed with your edit.  :)

The forum is for users of the site. If you are here to just post links to your Ebay auctions, then you won't remain a member here.

All of your Ebay links in your 2 threads have been removed.  >:(

Multiple discs should be in the picture, but one disc is OK.
Put the item numbers for all disks in Description field if they have them.

Site Feedback / Re: Request - Screenshots and Covers
« on: April 28, 2017, 12:13:47 pm »
Does that happen often? I think I recall something about how a title screen might look different for a certain variant (publisher variant maybe?).

For some systems, the title screen shown is determined on which console a cart is used in. Two examples of systems that will do this: Neo Geo AES and Sega Game Gear.

If we are to add screenshots for game entries, it should only be done so that we can put in title screenshots. And the ability to select how many titles a specific game has (to take care of the region issue) and have one for each. Using a title screenshot can be helpful to determine game code variations that do exist, while the item and packaging is the same.

But since this is a database of actual items, I do not think it is needed to get carried away with putting all sorts of screenshots onto a game entry. There are other websites for that type of thing.

https://vgcollect.com/item/108826 & https://vgcollect.com/item/108844 (it isn't swag that's for sure)

Well, that's part of a long discussion... The physical item does not contain a game (digital key is emailed), so it's been placed into the swag category.

Actually the steam key is stickered to the game (or was it the art cards?), at least at the NIS America Europe Online Store -> does this need to be adressed for more games or is this the exception? Cause i own this game and some other games which can be considered transferrable then !

That's interesting. I got it from the NISA US store, and my key was emailed to me... Wonder if they should be listed as the same listing with that difference in the description or just have two separate listings :/

It can stay the way it is, one in swag and one in game category. But the item in swag category needs a different title to point out it is not a game, and thus not a dupe with the item in the game category.

I never let the cat near the LCD screens. He gets the squirts if he goes near them.

PS: squirts is squirt bottle filled with ~1/10 vinegar and 9/10 water.

Should be Soccer Superstars: International Soccer.
You can put in description what the spines say and what the readme says.
Also should be official release if the barcode is legit. It isn't to say that the disc you got in yours is the correct one.

Fixed. Mobygames has removed watermarks from their images on their site some time ago. So if you find an entry with Mobygames watermark, you can go to their site and get the new art and replace the images on the entry.  ;)
