Off Topic / Re: What Was The Last Movie/Anime You Watched?
« on: June 04, 2014, 01:04:57 pm »
Kill La Kill -- A series people really seem to love, but I'm having a hard time getting into it.  About 5 episodes in right now and I'll check out a few more before I decide to continue or not.

I also tried to get into Kill la Kill, I kinda lost motivation around episode 7, and I'm not sure when I'll get around to it again. It's certainly one of the most unique anime series to have come out for a while, but it just hasn't hooked me yet.

Right now I'm reaaaally enjoying watching JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders. It's just as good as, if not even better than last year's adaptation of the first two parts of the manga series. Everything about it is just so well done, the art, the music, the story, the characters. Just a fair warning though, if you really get into the series, you're going to end up wanting to buy the new PS3 game, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle.  ;)

After finishing Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk.2 yesterday, I decided to get back to playing Mugen Souls on the PS3. I'm a few hours in now and quite enjoying it. It's not perfect, but it's got some really interesting and unique game mechanics. I also decided to start Killer is Dead after picking up the PS3 version on Monday. Wow, what an awesome game. I'm really liking the art and music. It's the quality I'd expect from a SUDA51 title.

According to Joystiq, as of now the Uncharted 3 Single Player is currently free for everyone. That includes non Playstation Plus owners. I just quickly logged on to see whether this was true or not, and it does seem to work.

Hi, I'm Abe and I've been a member of this site for nearly 3 years, yet have only just started to post on the forums. My favorite console is the SNES despite not actually owning one. Series I love include Mega Man, Earthbound/Mother, Disgaea, and most JRPGs in general.
I hope I can start to fit in nicely.  :)

Nice to meet you too.  :)
Your novel sounds like an interesting read. I'd be more than happy to help with proofreading if you need it. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a writer, so I wouldn't be of much use outside of correcting grammatical errors. Though, I'm sure you're doing well in that respect already.

Proofreading and also feedback. So if you can say "Hey, that's a plot hole!" or "I wanna know what happened to..." or other general feedback, that's just as good (probably better) than noticing comma splices or fragmented sentences.

I'm sure I could manage at least that.  :D

Nice to meet you, abe!

I'm still in the process of the second edit of the novel. I like the end, but it needs a couple more chapters between the middle and the end to flesh out the story. To give you an idea, it's an older young adult novel about a guy, just out of college, who buys a run-down arcade. He's fixing it up and finds a game he's never heard of. One thing leads to another and he finds out the arcade machine holds the key to a portal to another planet. The planet is home to a wizard's school, but he's the first Earthling to have presented any real magical potential since the days of Merlin, so his dorm mates are all aliens from other planets. It's a bit Harry Potter, a bit Last Starfighter, and a blender full of all the games, books, and movies I've experienced over the years.

I will definitely need a few willing proofreaders, so as long as you are willing to be both positive and negative with input, I'd be glad to let you read it once this edit is finished.

Nice to meet you too.  :)

Since I'm new to posting on this forum, I've never had the chance to meet you, but it's nice to hear that things have really turned around for you. Btw, is there any chance that we'd get to read that novel you wrote?

I'm thinking that the Wii U may be hard to find later on, since it seems like I'm the only person that owns one.

The problem there is that the WiiU's low sales = A lack of games & a lack of 3rd-party Pubs/Devs willing to take the chance to invest money in making games for it (*especially* exclusives) = less people will buy it unless it gets more games -and- it won't get more games if more people don't buy it, etc...

Not that it's a "bad" console or that there's anything wrong with it - it just really, really, really needs the games...desperately!

Hopefully this year changes that with what they are supposed to be releasing.  Mario Kart 8 on Friday, Smash Bros and most likely Hyrule Warriors in the fall/winter, then there's Bayonetta 2 and X and anything else I might have overlooked.  Not bad for exclusives.

Smash Bros is definitely going to be a big system seller for the WiiU. With that and Mario Kart 8, it might be just what Nintendo needed to turn things around. I know I'm going to want one for that reason. Until now, I've still had no particular reason to get one. It has even fewer exclusives that interest me than the Vita.

I'd be all for this, it sounds awesome. It would also be nice to be able to mark your favorite games in your collection.

Out of curiosity, do those fancy disc resurfacing machines work for smaller discs like GameCube games?
